    Brilliant interview, very interesting! I was under investigation once for a runway incursion. Only issue it was at an airport I had never visited, in an aircraft I'm not rated on.😮Luckily common sense prevailed as they accepted it wasn't me ,so didn't need a lawyer thank goodness!

      @@TakingOff Thanks, I look forward to watching.
      I fly out of a small aviation community and think Swift would be a great option for many reasons.
      I fly a Rotax 912 but most of the folks on the field fly the more conventional engines and worry about the STC.
      I would love to show them a video about what I understand is a fairly simple and inexpensive Swift helps with.
      Maybe I misunderstand what I read on their website because it seems like too good to be true.
      Ken

    This makes me seriously consider getting AOPA's legal services so I can ask an aviation attorney all those FAR clarification questions which I keep asking EAA and my local FSDO and getting no response.

    • @TakingOff
      @TakingOff  3 года назад +1

      You have a base level with just your AOPA membership. It might cover questions. I pay the higher one because having been called to the FSDO, it's totally worth it.

    Are ya'll familiar with Pilots N Paws that Patty Wagstaff supports. Recently, I heard the Feds have allowed a certain amount of the cost, even though it is purely a 91 op and volunteer, to be taken off a volunteers taxes as charitable contributions which if you do it enough could be significant. I am a retired major airline pilot and am thinking of doing some of this. Is it possible to ask Greg Reigal if he has any insight. I was going to do it anyway but it would be nice to have that perk.

      How could the FAA investigate without a name? "some guy flying my airplane inverted" doesn't give much information, eh? Providing a name on a public forum is inappropriate in ANY situation. Between the owner and the idiot that took pics and video to brag to his buddies.

    Since Christy's experience with her aircraft, it was enough for us as a family to decide to take our aircraft out of the rental pool for our club. She did the right thing by passing this through straight to the FAA. However in my mind the person taking a rental aircraft and operating it "DELIBERATELY" outside of parameters is not someone to waste time money and resource in an attempt to "bring them back to compliance"
    I have buried too many friends through aviation accidents & seen too many good people in the aviation community lost to pure dumb bad luck. This person has no place in any part of our airspace or community

    Waist of time... Govt has more money than you snd can litigate to oblivion!!! And now more punitive than ever, like the IRS. I recieved one of those letters; they required a flight ckeck to retain my privliges.... 1 hr flight time for the test. Was lucky that time... Maje sure you never have another....

    Just don't call AOPA, they're an inane waste of time. I tried to consult with them several times and got nothing but run-around and half-correct information.

      That wasn't my experience. I've used them twice and each time they were very responsive and very helpful. I know make sure I have the added level of legal services in my AOPA membership.
