When I went there for the first time I was flabbergasted. The steep drop down to the river was unreal. I wondered why it wasn't more advertised as one of the most awe inspiring places right up there with many of our National Parks.
My wife and I visited the south rim last September and enjoyed it immensely! My brothers and I navigated the North rim via motorcycle over this past Labor Day weekend. Same sights, just a more rustic experience. Overall, a hidden gem!
Who Dey! Howard our 🐅lost to the Brownies 😢. I enjoyed the video of Black Canyon. It reminds me of Breaks Interstate Park on the KY VA border. Looking forward to the Yellowstone video. We were there in early August. Stay safe
I really appreciate your explanation on the Geology. So many RV vblogs show a couple of pretty scenery shots before moving along to showing the dump station and whatever new piece of gear they got sent for free.
Many, many thanks you two! This is one of the National Parks we haven’t visited yet, and it looks like (because of YOU!) it’s now on-the-list to do so! It is so beautiful with so many places to visit, I think either a Spring or Fall visit is in order! Give all those pups a big hug and kiss from me!, Love you guys, Virginia
We stayed at the Crawford State Park on the North Rim. It was a good campground overlooking Crawford Lake. It gives a different perspective of the canyon much like the views from the river on the East Portal Road. Also, we loved the little towns around the North Rim area. It's a smaller National Park but well worth the time. I tell people you won't be disappointed. Thanks for another great video.
Another great video. Thanks, guys. We visited Black Canyon this year for the first time. I'd never heard of it, but I was looking on the map for someplace to explore near our campground and found out there was a national park!
Whoa - that railing Katelyn! My feeling about that is this - rocks break off and fall. Yes, they do and the evidence is down inside the canyon - so I'm not doing edges period lol. It's always fascinating to find shapes in stone or in the clouds. Thanks for the tip on the Costco sticky rice. I buy the Cilantro Rice and the Quinoa Brown Rice packets there and they are so very yummy and perfect for rv life. Hope you're all well and thanks for sharing this beautiful Park.
Its worth the drive out there. If a person leaves Denver at 8:30 AM, they can get to the canyon by noon, have a picnic lunch, spend 3-4 hours hiking around, and then be back to Denver by 7 in the evening.
You guys do a nice job! Not over the top, not affected, honest! So refreshing ❤ The Ranger…….not so much! My goodness, that was simply painful!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 you are so kind! I would have run screaming!!! I was on a 4 hr. Bus tour with my Mom in Savannah, with this guys twin brother! At the first stop, we called a cab! My dear Mother who was NOT a drinker, needed two drinks at dinner! As I sad, you are kind! While we took a cab back to our car 😅
Mike, I think we'll have a proper comparison video in the future, but it was great to try out Class A life for a while this year! Interestingly, there are positives that you wouldn't expect, like the kitchen/galley is larger in our Navion than the Vista. Each have benefits that suit particular aspects of travel (the Vista we found faster to setup/pack up), so we think it could be interesting to share our perspective on the two models. 👍 -Howard
I was there with my kids several years back... steep is an understatement. I couldn't get very close to the railings or I would start getting a bit of vertigo. I can usually handle heights fairly well. We still enjoyed that trip very much and worth a trip for sure.
Definitely could see that with how steep the cliffs of the canyon are from the overlooks! Glad you still had a great time and agreed Black Canyon is worth the visit. 👍 - Howard
@@leahwithheld783 I’ll rent a Ford Explorer! Ha ha - I don’t want to kill our older Dodge diesel pick-up - it’s what we tow our home with. And I’ll close my eyes while my husband drives. 😜

Totally agree! It's completely underrated and so magnificent! 😍
omg! you guys are amazing! thank you for this video
Wow another great park. Opened our eyes to check out the ranger programs. Thank you for taking us along. Enjoy the journey.
Beautiful views! Shelley here & the heights not so much! 😮 Scout is always ready for a good trail! Glad the puggles got to cool off & relax too! 🐾

Wow amazing beautiful scenery
Thanks so much! Black Canyon is definitely less known than most parks, but certainly delivers on fantastic scenery. 👍 -Howard
Beautiful video! Yellowstone is on my bucket list. I’ve been to Eastern Wyoming.
Thanks so much! We're so glad you're along for the journey. 👍 -Howard

Yep, I have been there October last year, yes, amazing history. Too the ranger program was awesome ❤

So beautiful and definitely going on my list of places to go! ❤❤
Really appreciate this video. We are planning on this park next summer and you answered so many questions we had. Thank you.

We visited the park 2 years ago. I wish I would have known about the East Portal road.
I went today with my mom❤
I felt like I was gonna fall.
We are loving this series but am shocked the number of views is so low. People are really missing out.
Thanks, Laurel! Commenting, liking, sharing our episodes definitely helps RUclips to recommend them to others. Appreciate the support! 👍 -Howard

Agree. Unfortunately most, if not all of the park rangers preach the pseudoscience of “millions of years”.
Don't understand how his energetic presentation was "painful". 🪨🏠
Very Nice!
Thanks so much for watching! :)
Definitely steep and winding with those switchbacks. I would probably burn up some brakes going down. I’ll pass on that drive 😂
Haha yeahhhh, it's incredibly steep... 16%! We did it for you! 😉👍
How are you adjusting to your smaller RV compared to the Vista?

What happened to the Winnebago Vista?
Hey Brandon! We explained the RV switch several weeks ago, you can watch here ☺️ ruclips.net/user/live8UYceOnP7Ok?feature=share

I had no idea you could drive to the bottom, but 16% grade? Yikes! Maybe we will rent a car 🤣
We did it with a Ford Explorer. The car did fine. The passengers were a bit nervous, LOL!

@@TravelSmallLiveBig Yeah, I wouldn’t take an older car down there. Ours was brand-new at the time. Don’t forget to turn the AC off!
Great job on this project. Add one more to the bucket 🪣 list. Thanks From Wisconsin
