The reason to take Havocs over HSS with that warlord trait is that with the Techmarine buff they go to BS6, so they could re-roll 1's to avoid most of the gets hot, also you should really have slow rolled, as if 1 Lascannon rolled 2 1's then only he would have died as gets hot is assigned to the model not the squad. Having lots of different coloured dice really helps with that. For my Kakophoni I now have 10 different colour sets of dice to roll 3 of each so that I can quick roll it.
It’s a good shout I’d not really thought about havoks for the reroll! Not a massive fan of the warlord trait due to loss of choice where the reaction goes but this mitigates one downside! May do the coloured dice thing tbh: just hate the slow roll so much, kills me to do it especially
Thanks mate! I’ll try to get more in the future pre game and inbetween turns if I can but will be down to what the players coming on are feeling (In the name of them having a good time in the game) !
Wow, I just found this video. I was at that clash of arms event back in July. I played against Ben and was annihilated, I played the Alpha Legion tank army.
@@BearfootMiniatures well, I admit that the nickname is kinda outdated, this account was made long before I bought my first miniatures and became a proud scion of the First Legion)
Great banter in the game but ooooooof. That secondary seems awfully asymmetric, only magnifying what was a heavily decisive turn. Lol, that cheeky advance reaction.
@@BearfootMiniatures I'm referring to the first blood secondary, that not being available to both sides. That combined with the point for warlord and the lost resources made the game over. It was a great lesson in not giving a lascannon squad gets hot. I agree with what y'all said in the video that the big 4 points for holding both objectives makes for very aggressive play in the mission, especially with only 4 turns! Agree with the other comments about your content being some of the best HH on youtube. Looking forward to more!
@@lonelysandbarahhh ye, i agree tbh: as much as It pains me the 40k tournament scene got it right changing it to "Alpha Strike (or something)" where you get a point if you kill in your first turn not just the first player gets it.... And thanks for the kind words!
Regarding the Tyrant of the Lyssatra Praetor; you made a mistake by having his attached unit in the open at the start of the game. If you have the Praetor and his attached unit in a transport, then your opponent can't shoot them off the bat, and therefore can't bait the reaction.
Sort of mate: then you have to disembark, snapshoot for a turn and it happens the same way really Tyrants not so much but with havoks… Tbh I completely forgot the recons (which is why he went there, I literally deployed them, said “Ben I’ve finished deploying” and knew then I’d made a mistake!
@@BearfootMiniatures Perhaps don't put them with heavy weapons and instead attach a simple +1 BS buff to your heavies via an Armistos, Master of Signal or Techmarine? My Lyssatra Tyrant is with a Veteran Squad armed with combi-meltas, all mounted in a Rhino. As a consequence, they can disembark and fire a withering fusilade of two melta shots each via the Lyssatra Praetor. You can do the same with certain other weapons squads depending on your taste. Great vid, BTW!
I've been "meaning" to build my Heresy army for a while, but small children have delayed me, and so I have no practical game experience. The lascannons on the Arcus seem like an interesting choice to me, as I've always thought it was more of an anti-Space Marine platform. Are they just there in case it meets Space Marines...in tanks?
So Ben once uttered a truism… “There’s no such thing as overkill”, The thought is lascannons kill marines, termies, tanks… whereas heavy bolters allow armour saves
Love Ben's army. Just gorgeous. Pleading word on the RUclips side of things, can there be a bit more balance between the talking dialogue and the outro? The outro is quite a bit louder than the talking and wearing earbuds it was a bit painful at the end. Cheers.
I’ll try and monitor it more on the post side of things going forward! Don’t know what’s gone on though as the mics didn’t get changed between the two segments!
Lovely work gentlemen as always. Great channel. Two things- first, classy move from the Iron Warriors when reacting to The Lion and his command squad by stepping up to meet the charge. Well done. Secondly, a question-- when the DA terminators fired their flamers into the Seekers on turn one, doesn't the flame template have to be placed at the edge of the base of the firing model? Placement of the small end of the template seemed a bit flexible, with the net result being more hits on the Seeker squad because of the close range -? Just asking because I'm trying to understand the rules and general flexibility in the intent of the rules -?
Point 1) why thank you sir! I thought it was the only appropriate strategy at that point 2) with the flame templates, I tend to not check too hard on how many/placement in order to keep the game flowing Thats largely based on an assumption that with enough time in movement and shooting positioning he could probably have got however many he wanted rather than sticking closely to the rules etc
I am a simple man, when I see heresy BatRep I push "I like"! But please stop the pivot turn after the movement of the vehicles. Therefore you gain 1 up to x inches more movement, with each vehicle. This is not gentleman Playstyle. You measure the distance a vehicle can go before you even touch it for the movement. Then you have the "bubble" in which it can move and pivot as it's like. You aren't allowed to drive to the edge of the bubble with the side of the vehicle and then pivot the AR*E 🤪 above the bubble-edge to gain an inch (rhino) or even 2 inches (landraider) to unload the infantry. I never said anything, if there was a miniature set half an inch too far, but that is some kind of Playstyle I dislike...

At roughly 40mins in, how does the lion stop the iron warriors from reacting?

Got one being edited now actually with Matt (who’s been on the necro bat reps with Delaque) so should be the 17th when it’s released
