Thanks so much for making these videos! By selling this tie, along with the stitched soloman bar,the tire tred bar, and the caterpillar foot bracelet, I was able to net $5,000 and after buying all of my materials, made nearly $4,000! Thanks to you when I am sixteen in a couple of years, if I keep saving, maybe I will be able to buy a car when I am 16! Thanks a bunch
hey every body i just want to let you all know that this guy saved my life!! after seeing this i went out bought some paracord and made this bracelet and we went on a camping trip and i took this After we got there foolishly i decided to look around without really knowing where we had gone and so after walking a little bit i came to what i thought was a 2ft cliff and ended up falling 30ft down i had to pull my self back up and over the cliff with a broken leg and eventually called for help
Just made my first two stitched Solomon bars. I love them! Thanks for posting your videos. You are a really great teacher and you go slowly enough for even a beginner to learn your knots. God bless, Colleene
Thank you JD. Would you be insulted if I suggested that you become sponsored? Because frankly that would make ME happier because then I would know that you get benefits from teaching us the coolest thing in the world. Thanks for all your time you put into your videos; I hope you know that it makes others happy and that it helps them believe in themselves that they can create and say "Yes, I made that with my hands".
Really enjoy your videos and website. This has inspired me to try it out. I have a chronic disease and this practice will be therapudic for me. Please continue to post. and don't mind those who don't understand or appreciate what your doing. Thanks JP
I've been watching and learning from JD's videos for 2 years now, I'm now making cow whips with para-cord and making a pretty good little profit from it! Thanks JD, for peaking my interest.
Another fantastic instructional vid! Thx for the pauses so we can follow along. Also, thank you for your time and efforts. Putting vids together is very involved. Unless one does it they have. no. idea.
JD: All the technical staff from Knott's berry farm and my tour group thank you so much for your videos. You have provided us with hours of entertainment. gearboy is stupid. Yeah it cost money for the paracord, i spend at least $50 a month just to make them and give them out for free. I think we all do it just because its fun and to learn new ties. Thanks!
JD: Don't pay gearboy any mind. I, and I am sure many other subscribers, would be willing to help pay for your paracord to show our appreciation for your creativity and generousity in providing your instructions free on line. Please keep at it. Thanks.
You can leave the center strands dangling and cord around them until you get the length you like. To secure the other end of the buckle simply start a cobra stitch on that end or fold the dangling center lines under and cord over them. I will be making a page with instructionals soon.
@DonnakinsJewelry I was fortunate enough to have been brought up in what used to be the largest cattle producing state in the U.S. Not too many people know that Florida is a cattle state, I know a lot of ranchers in and around Osceola county, and most of the cowboys that work these ranches like my whips. There are also performers that use whips in their shows.
Hey, I have an idea, we can help JD buy more paracord by buying his books. So far I have bought his "Decorative Fusion Knots" a beautiful book, and his book "Disturbingly Normal" which I read in two days because I couldn't put it down. Keep up the great work JD.
Thank you! I have now managed to do my first bracelet. However, I measured in centimeters and measured a little on is how long laces were supposed to be. Thanks again from Sweden!
@magnesiumspork Locally here in Utah I go to a large surplus store called Smith and Edwards but it is about 40 miles in a direction I don't usually go. They have a wall full of spools (maybe 15 colors) with both 550 7 strand and 550 gutted, both in each color, that they will cut to length. They also have a large pegboard display with precut 100 foot pieces in many other colors all 550 7 strand. I will admit though, after looking around, that you are right about 450 having the most color choices.
Hi, I really enjoy your videos very much, and at the moment I made a purse out of rice fibers, which sort of looks like a wicker. I'd like to make a handle for the purse with one of your designs, kind of looking for a round cord, or maybe this one. Do you have any suggestions on which to use, The purse is a shoulder purse, so the strap would be aprox 22" thanx for the videos, I think you are awsome.
I'm making a long stitched solomon bar from 550 paracord and I'm finding that it tends to curl backward. Setting the reef knots really tight (my original instinct) seems to make it worse. Just a tip for y'all since I think I figured out the problem. @LTTPUK I'm a girly too. I got interested in decorative knots and found JD's site and high-quality videos. I'm a beginner and I use satin cord and cheap craft cord too. Any string, twine, or cord would work but would have different final effects.
I always get mine on ebay from 5StarCord, they have a massive selection of colors and patterns and the price is more than reasonable for top quality US made cord.
@magnesiumspork That's a good thought but you can get 550 in any color under the sun as well. That's why I wondered why 450. I am about to make a big internet cord purchase and wanted to know before I do.
Forgive me I'm sure you have answered this question before, but why do you use 450 cord? Is just that it's more economical than 550? Does it behave differently? Maybe because the finished piece has a bit less bulk? Just curious. Please keep innovating. I just got Decorative Fusion Knots, I can't wait for the next one.
just search "PARACORD" OR "550 CORD" on google. the stuff is available all over the place, and cheap too. you can also check your local surplus store as well.
@Strankon - Who buys cow whips? And what part of the country? I'm always trying to find unique ways of making stuff that guys would buy at craft shows.
I went to their site and the stuff I want to buy has been on "on backorder" for months now, can I still order some and get it? Do you know any other good places to buy this paracord at? Thanks

Tied this as a second project to make a 36" binocular strap. Looks good in black/red.
HOLA, eres un gran artista ,te felicito mucho ,,gracias por tu enseñanza ,, y muchos exitos.
Can you please make a similar video but with a buckle please?

Your great. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@KF7AIK
As far as I know, the fun colors typically only come in 450. Black, white, OD, and a few others (depending on the manufacturer) come in 550.
Thank you! I have now managed to do my first bracelet. However, I measured in centimeters and measured a little on is how long laces were supposed to be.
Thanks again from Sweden!

beautiful
do you know how to make them with buckle or do you prefer no buckles
maravilhoso , parabéns pelo vídeo
It is almost exactly the same as a cobra weave so do it like a normal bracelet, a girth hitch on one side and the other side is loose
واو روعة احب هيج نوع من الأكسسوارات
It was easier to start the bracelet when the top was taped.
@KF7AIK where is that? i didn't see para cord last time i was at Smith and Edwards.
good creative.
