I know that a lot of people believe JRR Tolkien wouldn't have been impressed by the films...but really I think he would have at least appreciated the immense detail in the sets and costumes, the wonderful acting, seeing what he'd written come to life - the locations and characters. Mostly, I think he would've liked Howard Shore's score and how perfectly it captures every aspect of the world Tolkien envisioned :)

Music can really bring something out from deep within that even words can't describe. It made cry some when I first saw the film and thought of how proud Tolkien would have been of the movie creation even though during his life he said that making a movie of the books would not be to his liking. But that was when movies were not so advanced as they are now. Still cant beat the books though :)

The soloist playing the tin whistle is exactly how one would imagine him to look- almost as if he came straight out of the Shire as some sort of Hobbit professor haha. Sorry if I have named the instrument that he plays incorrectly.

I suffer from sporadic bouts of extreme depression that can lead to bouts of heavy drinking. If I feel the tonado of drpression, and alcojol abuse coming on I listen to this wonderful music. Sometimes it works and I escape the tornado but sometimes it does not. But I can always guarantee this music when I listen to it after my "episode" will lead me back to the world of functional humans and I will be a member of society again, albeit for a short time.
