The omission of physical buttons and the use of capacitive slider switches are some of the things I really like about my ID.4. I'm happy they ditched the buttons.

Put dryer sheets hanging from your windshield fluid cap. Just open the cap lay a dryer sheet over the hole so it hangs off the sides and simply close the cap on top of the sheet so it hangs and Emits odors from the dryer sheets to keep the rats 🐀 and rodents away they don't like the smell. I put one on each corner left and right under the hood secured under a cap or lid so it hangs and Emits odors also put one dryer sheet behind your license plate so there is smell Emitted from both front and back of the car. This should not only keep the rodents away but also keep your car smelling fresh when you turn the air on from outside. It's best under the hood to concentrate the smell so no rodents want to climb in from underneath. Change out the sheets monthly or as needed this should stop the rodents from ever climbing in underneath the car. This kept my Volkswagen clean of rodents no matter where I park it.

@@EVTipsAndTricks Thanks you for taking the time to read my comment. I was curious on how the battery has held up over the pass few months, software updates if there has been any, and any accessories on the market for the ID4.

Since my current diesel car had incidents with rodents until a dual speaker repeller was installed, I've immediately planned to have one installed when my ID.4 arrives as well.

Current version is 3.1 I think. At least on our ID4 picked up day before yesterday. 2022 model

Thanks for your update. Glad you got your car back. I would be interested in learning what attracted a rodent to the car? I wonder if perhaps when I charge my car in the garage that is detached from our house the battery’s warmth will be an attractant to mice or other rodents given we live in a rural area.

From my googling seems like this is just a common problem in general to cars!? Park in a garage that is sealed well seems to be the answer but that does not work for us either. Anyone know of any solution let me know! In my mind, so sort of motion detect sonic deterrent system is what I need :-)

@@EVTipsAndTricks You need a stray outside cat that you just feed some cat food and water. No more rodents near your car

This is interesting, I had a 2018 Atlas, parked outside, and one day it stopped working and the response was exactly the same - rodent that chew a battery cable - coincide? Or is a common answer?

Seems like it is a lot more common than I thought!

You're the second person I heard about having this problem with rodents and I'll have to park outside too. First was in the ID.4 USA owners Facebook group a guy suggested putting those rodent sticks in the yard to run them away from the car. So the Lady owner said the samething she parked her car outside also someone said in the group whatever add mixture they use to make the the harness wiring sleeve they make it with fish or salmon specifically. I don't know if it's a joke or true but I did hear Herbert Diess say they lost a lot of components companies that were in Ukraine so there you go I guess cost cutting too. Only thing I would like VW to fix is backlighting the slider buttons for the night the rest they can leave alone. It's an EV not an Ice car it's supposed to be different we're trying to move into the future. It'll take some getting used to but I had no problems in my test drive with any of the buttons.
