Thanks. You need to have land to do it. Keep doing what you're doing. The photos in your channel are nice to see. I've learned a little bit of permaculture when I was in high school. Yes it's pretty labor intense. But now it's becoming popular. As of now trying to settle in my tiny piece of land but don't know how. Lots of hustle and bustle. I like the composting toilet shared by Geoff Lawton. Getting there. Thanks
I’m sweating this is so, I don’t really know how to describe it, the single greatest man I’ve ever ever witnessed live. Thank you. You are the greatest, I I’m so lucky to have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hands to work. Thank you sir.
Just watching this a second time because it was so damn enjoyable! How lucky are we that we have this incredible storyteller and filmmaker making joy for us. Excellence, 10/10
I haven't even seen it yet, but just so you know, yours is the only notification that gets an audible "woohoo" when I see it pop up. My husband was like, "What? What?" "Um...nothing, honey." I think he's disappointed we didn't win the lottery or something. Enough talk, now for my monthly dose of artistic brilliance and visual poetry.
Mr Weedy, that was brilliant. Your photography and story telling is captivating along side very gentle humour. A very powerful mix. This one is certainly one of my favourites so far along side us all being connected, what to do with heaps of pumpkins, building the food forest. Three cups of green leaves gives the amount of protein as one egg. Kale and amaranth leaves are particularly high in protein. Mulberry leaves can be eaten if they are boiled and drained. Mixing six cups of greens with two eggs goes along way particularly if you can add a mushroom. Your experiment is very useful for indicating how your garden can change in the future. Perhaps you can make eel waddies in your creek, have some mushroom bags, perhaps more chickens, perhaps some fish, many more edible greens, more nuts (these take time). Can't wait to find out what the thud was. I'm wondering if some neighbours have dropped you off a supply of essentials including pecans, sardines, ghee, coffee, cake, chocolate and a six pack to keep you going because they want you to succeed. Greetings from Chihuahua, Mexico from an Aussie expat who gets very nostalgic with your videos.
Ha ha. I’m hearing that kale and too many greens are kinda toxic? I’m hearing, and it makes sense, that plants actually don’t want you to eat their leaves, but want you to eat the fruits. I have since planted some shrooms in some logs, but one step at a time. I knew before I started that it would be a few years before it really kicks in. I’ll have to do a tour in the spring when it starts to take off again. Right now it all looks a bit sad and soggy 🥺
@@TheWeedyGarden I'm about to spam you with links. Have fun with them. As background, I was born into a family of MDs (many conventional) and happened to marry one who is obsessed with issues of poverty (was a street kid for a while), nutrition, preventative medicine. Sometimes it's frustratingly more talk than action. Just to survive all the overwhelming enthusiasm for the latest diet 'therapy' (that aren't always successful) I have also become interested for self defense and my own health needs. In the family we have a few sensitive to lectins. So about any foods, it's not only the actual food per say, but also the amount, when it's eaten, with what it's eaten, how it's prepared. Now about your Green leaf comment, The people who tend to have problems with green leaves are those with limited and affected gut microbes and those who tend to over eat foods high in oxalates. Being obsessed with green juices can be a problem ruclips.net/video/hdNMleBApPY/видео.html Boiling and draining the water from green leaves and eating them with dairy reduces oxalates. So does sprouting the plants. If any plant is grown with Green Revolution methods or hydroponics, the plants will contain excessive amounts of toxic heavy metals because there is no natural filtering system with fungi. ruclips.net/video/Xt0bjyJGxoQ/видео.html This is why having your own garden is so important. With fruit, particularly sweet high fructose fruits it's not so simple. This is particularly a problem for those with abundant food forests that have an excessive amount of fruit trees. This old talk by Dr Lustig 'Sugar the bitter truth' talks about the toxic effects of fructose. ruclips.net/video/dBnniua6-oM/видео.html He mentions that fibre reduces the toxic effects of fructose but many of our favourite fruits are low in fibre such as banana, papaya, mango and we simply eat too much. Fructose is also related to uric acid production which raises blood pressure ruclips.net/video/JTxkAK82e0I/видео.html. One way to reduce fructose is to ferment the fruit. The following two links are about lectins. The first is about mental health and the second has good graphics ruclips.net/video/mjQZCCiV6iA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3dqXHHCc5lA/видео.html For those who like eating meat, the way around increased body temperature, chronic mTOR production is intermittent fasting.
@@TheWeedyGarden I think your hunting instincts were spot on. It's not just about how much protein foods contain, it's about how bioavailable nutrients are. "Feels like going to supermarket", that is exactly what I feel when I go to the garden. At first I didn't realize it, until my students said it. They returned to school on March. I prepared the garden for them since December. So when they returned to school again, they very excited to meet their friends, their teachers, to play in the playground and also gardening. They always said, going to the garden is like going to supermarket, but you don't have to pay. I laughed at that time, but then I realized yes it is. It is a free supermarket, because you paid it with your hardwork. And the most amazing is, those kids love veggies now. Your videos always brings me the joy and encourage to continue gardening program at school. Thank you Weedy 🙏🤗
I kept thinking... I know this guy! But I live ina tiny village in Belgium, and you live in that far away paradise 🤔 Maybe you are just so famous. But today it clicked! We met, didn't we?? All your videos are a celebration of life!!! And they make me so happy. 😁😀😄 and I can't wait for part 2, and 3, and 4, and 5, and just if you would - please continue forever, because we need more light in our lives, and Weedy you are definitely the sunshine!!!!
Always look forward to your videos David. Enjoy the learnings, videography and most importantly your humour. There are always a few giggle, snort moments which are much appreciated.
Olá Amigo, again & again U make our days shining, believing that is not just possible it's really happening. Things are growing and we too, just like small formigas we take part of it, time to thank U, as our love grows inspired by U, and all the little weddy's around the globe. Let's keep the Dragon dreaming.. Go Xambala
🤣😂😅 I Really love it that you're actually down-to-earth especially when you enter the toilet and heard them sound affects. I really love you humour thanks.
My dream was to be a nature photographer. Not going to happen, but I have to say, watching your videos makes me wish I had a camera and makes me want to go take pictures of nature. Beautiful storytelling and beautiful editing.
When I launch a video of you, I instantly go fullscreen on my desktop. It's just very soothing to both the eye and ear. Thanks dude. Your bee episode was epic.
Something I've experienced from fasting these pasts months is that our body tries to bring back everything in order. We were trained to think to add when we lack something. It's the opposite in fact : we should learn to bring less to create less disturbance. It could be apply to all sorts of domain of knowledge... Nice story telling as always ! Seeing all the work that you did by yourself is also impressive. You're so inspiring to me ! Thanks mate !
You are my favorite you tube channel. Cant wait for the 2nd one. I was almost disappointed when you said you were going to put the experiment on hold. Glad you didn't
This is pure healing, pleasure, learning & entertainment all in one Weedy bundle 💚💚💚 please keep making videos - my heart fills with joy and wonder and all life’s possibilities when I watch them Waiting on part 2! Don’t be long Thanks again 🌱
Mr. Weedy is such a gift for permaculture, homesteading and the world at large 🤩 Also, Mr. Weedy: if you're concerned about excessive cholesterol intake from eggs, use only or mostly the whites. Because only the yolk contains the cholesterol. The whites are still rich in protein.
My doc ( UK) told me that recent research shows that the cholesterol in egg yolks is not the harmful kind and so we can, indeed, eat lots of eggs. I used to keep ducks for eggs, but you do need to keep them separate from your veggies and plants because they eat everything and are very messy. I just try to grow veggies now, but slugs and pigeons get most of what I can grow. Also shared garden so I can't dig up the lawn... Love all your videos David/Weedy, you have a very gentle voice. Learning lots from you. Go well.
Just starting my own garden. My wife and kids love your channel, we all sit around and watch your videos. I am in the process of starting some raised garden beds as the soil in Roma Queensland is clay. I am also looking into some chooks and a flow hive. You’re so very creative with editing and a great story teller. Looking forward to the next upload.
You to David , get a net for the eels...just a simple fine net. Smoked eels are delishious. Loved your information about sweet corn,i didnt know how the flowers pollinate the silky hairs. Your just the best. Thank you. 🏠🐔🐓💖
OMG I'm hooked! Can't wait to hear more Mr. Weedy. Oh, and sorry that EGW tree experiment didn't work out. I'm learning that there are many factors to consider when planting using that blueprint method. Looking forward to part 2.🥰
I really lived through the story. and I keep living through. This is my dream too. I knew that it wasn't practical to set up something on our own from scratch , live through the hardships, all kinds and yet to carry on with a will power like this. This is the most wonderful story I would like the next generation to take it forward. This story means so much to me to keep me motivated to nurture my backyard and keep tending to the, huge sick, infected ,Mango tree. For about 5 years I was thinking that I should bring it down, every day I wake up go up the stairs and touch the branches (the tree is 40 feet) high, the tree sways back to me, somewhere some breeze, wind goes all over the tree and I see her swaying back. So I drop my idea of bring it down for this season, Now after watching this episode of the story, I'm even more motivated to keep her, working on little backyard soil , regenerate soil and feel the power of nature when some shoots of ginger, brinjal, tomatoes keep showing up, Just like that. I wish we had an environment like yours. My big push for you .. keep going, and don't give up.. there are so many , not very lucky to be able to pursue a dream, as much as you are able to. I wish some day, I will have a better piece of patch to make it like yours!
Love this!! So awesome to see you working out what to add to the garden in order to fully live from it....and the koala footage is epic...those EYES!!! 🤣
Hi David. Thanks for the new video. My partner and myself have been following your videos from day one and enjoyed all of them. We live in an urban big city situation but we still managing to work in our garden. My partner is a beekeeper and I grow veggies, medicinal herbs, keep chickens etc. Keep going. Ciao
It didn't work when I touched the bark to the leaves to make a coop. Fooey!... maybe I didn't have exactly the right bark. 🤣🤣 I didn't realize how deeply subconsciously you have shaped my life over the past 2 years David. So THANK YOU❣🌱🌱🪴🪴🪴🐔
yeah. u need to hold them right too. it aint easy. looks easy but takes years to get it right. u might get a dog house, a bird bath or a cat box if you use wet bark
Hi weedy, wonderful video and so great of you to confirm that animals are a vital part of a balanced permaculture system. I would recommend a goat for cheese and investigate aquaculture for a good supply of fish. 🌻😊
i love this, i am planning on getting chickens this month too! and I want bees, but I have to find them where I live, it might be a bit difficult, but crossing my fingers
Brilliant Mr Weedy. You inspire me to do a little bit more in my huge veggie/orchard garden. I have got the beginnings of a small food forest but now I will add to here in Homeleigh on the Northern Rivers
OMG...EPIC, indeed! Much anticipation for Part Two! Your gardening skills are amazing mate - you be a thinking dude not hung up on the alpha intelligence mindset most in the human species suffer from. Something like that I guess I developed during 35 different countries I’ve visited and all the walking. I think I think unlike many think 🤔🕉 but I think I feel more than I think. To be sure, that’s how I feel 🤎
Loved it! The smile on my face grew with each minute that passed. Oh and you trying to catch those slippery eels 😂 I don’t mind the taste of eels, or catfish for that matter. When staying with my grandfather, who lived at the foothills of the Liverpool Ranges on Wanaruah/Kamilaroi country, we spent our time cooking produce from his half acre veg plot, the same size orchard where the chickens resided, fished the local creek and foraged the surrounding hills for berries etc. I was truly blessed to have lived such an extraordinary childhood. He was a truly great man. You evoke such fond memories with this part 1 video, David. I look forward for what’s to follow! As always, your sharing is gratefully appreciated ✨ thank you 🙏🏼💗✌️
🌼🌻🐝☀️🌺👨🌾🌸🌺🫑🐇 I can see you put a lot of work and love into growing! All the hard work it worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday brings me so much joy! It’s the start of my 3 year gardening but there is still so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks and advice! I look forward to learning more from each other as we grow!

Things are growing and we too, just like small formigas we take part of it, time to thank U, as our love grows inspired by U, and all the little weddy's around the globe. Whenever I see your videos I save them for the best time of my day to get the most fun out of them
Super. Yes, they are best experienced with no distractions because of the subtle details 💚🙏🏻
Thanx LOUISE 😃
That was the best cliff hanger I have ever seen on YT!
This is pure healing, pleasure, learning & entertainment all in one Weedy bundle 💚💚💚 please keep making videos - my heart fills with joy and wonder and all life’s possibilities when I watch them
Waiting on part 2! Don’t be long
Thanks again 🌱
Hopefully and most probably this weekend😄
I think you can eat as many eggs as you like.
Go well.
Thank you Weedy. What a beautiful uplifting video!!!
Thanks again!🤠
Your vídeos are completely enjoyable!!😂
Hugs from Brasil!
Sounds like a nice project coming along 👍
You are such a good storyteller. Together with your photography it's like going to the theater. Also you are very adventurous. Thanks for the channel.

OMG I'm hooked! Can't wait to hear more Mr. Weedy. Oh, and sorry that EGW tree experiment didn't work out. I'm learning that there are many factors to consider when planting using that blueprint method. Looking forward to part 2.🥰
it was only due to waterlogging
beautiful story.
I love the vegetable face on the thumbnail!
Oh thankyou 😆
I'm droolling

Great video blessings from Isaan rural Udon Thani province Thailand 🙏

Living the dream!
You're such an inspiration David, as a filmmaker, as a permaculture practitioner and as an all round human
It didn't work when I touched the bark to the leaves to make a coop. Fooey!... maybe I didn't have exactly the right bark. 🤣🤣
I didn't realize how deeply subconsciously you have shaped my life over the past 2 years David. So THANK YOU❣🌱🌱🪴🪴🪴🐔
yeah. u need to hold them right too. it aint easy. looks easy but takes years to get it right. u might get a dog house, a bird bath or a cat box if you use wet bark
@@TheWeedyGarden 😆
Hi weedy, wonderful video and so great of you to confirm that animals are a vital part of a balanced permaculture system. I would recommend a goat for cheese and investigate aquaculture for a good supply of fish. 🌻😊
i love this, i am planning on getting chickens this month too! and I want bees, but I have to find them where I live, it might be a bit difficult, but crossing my fingers
Just wonderful! Brilhante !
Love that outdoor kitchen setup.

Great video superb pictures and quite some cliffhanger to conclude with. I'll be looking forward to the next episode!
God bless you! Wonderfull work.
Brilliant Mr Weedy. You inspire me to do a little bit more in my huge veggie/orchard garden. I have got the beginnings of a small food forest but now I will add to here in Homeleigh on the Northern Rivers
Just down the road and over the hill away 🐨🙏🏻
OMG...EPIC, indeed! Much anticipation for Part Two! Your gardening skills are amazing mate - you be a thinking dude not hung up on the alpha intelligence mindset most in the human species suffer from. I've been a big fan of Geoff Lawton since his early days in the 90's. I've been a big fan of you, the Weedy guy, since you began your YT channel. Keep the joy rolling. Cheers...
Something like that I guess I developed during 35 different countries I’ve visited and all the walking. I think I think unlike many think 🤔🕉 but I think I feel more than I think. To be sure, that’s how I feel 🤎
your work is very inspiring and your vibe is magoc man
Anticipating part 2!
Oh man ! I can’t wait to find out what happened!
wow, thank you for sharing with us
As always, your sharing is gratefully appreciated ✨ thank you 🙏🏼💗✌️
P.s I added nettles and comfrey to the smoke water left over from the last biochar… char-tea 😉
Amazing video Weedy 🥰 I cannot wait to see part two 😀
🌼🌻🐝☀️🌺👨🌾🌸🌺🫑🐇
I can see you put a lot of work and love into growing! All the hard work it worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday brings me so much joy! It’s the start of my 3 year gardening but there is still so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks and advice! I look forward to learning more from each other as we grow!
Love your work Weedy. Your wholistic approach, photography/videography and storytelling are masterful.
🐨😁
You are a Awesome storyteller!
