You packed so much into this which affected the quality. I would rather listen to learn a lot about a specific topic rather than little about many topics. Each Hermetic branch deserves its own episode.

Hermeticism is a beautiful philosophy and is very syncretic. Ideas which are related include panthiesm, panentheism, and panpyschism.

The reason different Hermetic texts 'contradict' one another is the same reason that different theologies 'contradict' one another, i.e. they lack on Ontic certainty to generate an Epistemology to prove what they claim know with 'certainty''. If they can't tell us how they know what they claim to know with certainty, then why should we listen to them ? Hermetic texts do not have an ontic justification for an epistemology to justify their claims. Thus, why should we listen to them at all? Alchemy is an hypothesis that lacks both an Ontic start point and an epistemic justification for that start point. Thank you Cody for laying this out to question what, if anything, the Alchemists contributed to the advance of Western Philosophy. That's why Hermetic ideas, and its still born child Alchemy, would end up in the dust bin of the History of Philosophy. Real Philosophy gives us an ontic start point to What is Real, What is Truth, What is Good , and What is Beautifu. All else is dross.

Ok youre mixing the technical hermetica with the corpus hermeticum. The corpus hermeticum is the first and earliest dated. Like you said alchemy and its precendents inspired actual science so it should also be given some attention. However, my focus is that the corpus hermeticum can give spiritual insights without contradicting science. The theology of hermeticism is panentheistic(all is in god) which links back to universal conciousness(panpsychism) which is actual gaining steam with some scientists. To say their is no utility to that is shallow. The hermeticists believed in science and used science to understand the mysteries of conciousness.

Tell me you don't understand anything about the corpus hermeticum without telling me you don't understand anything about the corpus hermeticum. I suggest you try and read it first.

I've studied the powers of Kabbalah. In the text of hermetic philosophy. The light is so crystal clear that it opens the door to heal and clarity and truth . Much older than your God's. Kabbalah...

You review of the philosophical hermetica is so short and bereft of details you might as well not talk about it at all.. Poor job of showing the beauty of the corpus hermeticum. I suggest everyone go watch Eternalised video instead.

Once again our intelectual (i say that complimentary) has chosen a symbol of a darker nature this time a black bird. A symbol of death in some culture. Why oh why are the higher thinkers of my generations bogged down in darkness and clicky gothy/emoness.
