I'm not much of a pinner lol however wonder clips are amazing and they work great for holding binding 😁. The small binder clamps also work great for large quilts. My grandmother thought me how to see and I made my first quilt at 8 years old and I have been making and buying quilts ever since lol. I hand quilt all of my quilts and wonder clips are a blessing lol. Beautiful placement and I would love to have this on my table this year 😁 thank you for the tutorial and God bless
Love this, love how you explain. And not to much rattling on and on. Subscribed and looking forward what I can find to make. I am totally new to sewing! Thank you!
I absolutely love your Christmas placemat your a great tutor you give step by step instructions so clearly I will be making one for my daughter thank you Chris from UK
Have to try these for sure! I suck at binding though, I do okay till I get to joining it all together and doing the corners. Mine always look crap! But hopefully with your tips I can make it look better! Thank you for sharing!!
I think you will be pleasantly surprised at just how easy the binding can be Beth. Just take your time and in no time at all you will be wondering why you ever thought it was difficult.
Excellent video, Amanda! I love the 3-border placemat look. A very classy look for classy Christmas fabric. Will add to my Sewing Projects Bucket List. Thanks for sharing!!!
This was a very nice tutorial. You explained it so well and the visuals were perfect. I thought you might do hand sewing for the final binding, but your 1/8 inch machine stitch looks easy to do and saves time.
Thank you for your lovely comment, Ann. 😊 I'm not big on hand sewing and I admire people who are. It certainly gives a lovely finish to the binding. I'm all for quick and easy hence the machine finish.
The placemats are lovely! Thanks for all the tips and tricks. I’m going to put this on my list of things to make. I also just subscribed to your channel.
Lovely, Sharon, thank you. These are so easy to make and we have other quick and easy projects on the website. Here is the link www.alandacraft.com/ in case you are interested.

Decide how long and how wide you want the table runner to be. Cut your main fabric half an inch bigger that the finished size, to allow for seams. Here is a link to some of our Christmas table runners that may help www.alandacraft.com/?s=table+runners
Thank you Viddy. I have a DreamMachine 2, but these can be sewn on any home sewing machine, it's all straight stitching. I use Gutermanns Sew All thread. I'm a kiwi, Australian. Been here in Oz a long time now so the accent's a bit mixed, lol.
I've checked all the links and they go to the correct video and webpage, maybe there was a glitch of some sort. The placemat measures approx 18"x12". Here is a link to the page with the instructions and fabric requirements. www.alandacraft.com/2020/12/03/christmas-place-mats-tutorial/
Gracias 🙂
That is 'width of fabric' Elizabeth. Fabric generally comes folded in half so it's when you cut across the fabric from the folded edge to the selvedge edges. Eso es 'ancho de tela' Elizabeth. La tela generalmente viene doblada por la mitad, así que es cuando cortas la tela desde el borde doblado hasta los bordes del orillo.
@@alandacraft Hola estimada Alanda. Excellent
It’s lovely!
So creative, i like watching ur video, inspiring me thanks☺️🙏

Great job 👏
I love your tutorials and they are so easy to understand. Thanks so much. I have one question. What would be the finished size approximately?
Thank you Kate. These place mats measure approx. 18" x 12".
Beautiful 🤩🙌🤩🙌
Thank you Helen 😊. And they are so easy to make.
Always fantastic tutorials!❣️🥰
Thank you Rosario 😊

Am I missing the supply list? Thank you!
All the measurements and the step by step instructions are on the website Mayleah. Here is the link www.alandacraft.com/2020/12/03/christmas-place-mats-tutorial/
Also, forgot to ask, are the bindings cut on the bias for these?
No Pat. I cut my binding strips across the width of the fabric, not on the bias.
Very interested in your rolling chalk line - I didn't see it on your list of supplies - or is it not rolling?
Yes it is a rolling chalk wheel and they are available from Amazon
Love your video .. what is that tool you used to make the lines where you did your quilting?
This is a Creative Grids Quilting ruler measuring 8.5" x 24.5 in. Here is a link to where you can purchase one on Amazon amzn.to/3SVJhNp
@@alandacraft .. I’m sorry, I meant the red thing you’re using … I already have the ruler … thanks.

I couldn’t find the measurements for this placemat, with the inner green binding, on your website. The video is for another, similar, placemat.

I would have used the backing for binding the quilt, it would have saved one step.
Bravooooooooo
Thank you 😊
