Mera in Epithet Erased: I'm afraid of a life where bumping up on someone on the street means i go to the hospital. I just want the pain to stop for ten minutes. Mera in Epithet Switched: heheheh dinosaur
My prediction is that Indus' tragic backstory is that his Epithet is always active and prevents people from getting close. Mera and him became drinks because her Epithet can break his barrier and get close. As for why he wants Giovanni that's probably just so Mera doesn't keep hurting herself.
Close, but not really. Wanna know? Click read more (I've read the transcripts, so this is as far as I remember) Indus' epithet is indeed always active: A barrier surrounds him at all times. It protects him from anything dangerous. Including his emotions and anything alive. This is why nobody gets close, and why he tells everybody to keep a distance from him. He can't get hurt unless he's wearing eraser cuffs, which you can't put on because of his epithet. Fragile (weirdly) doesn't actually break the barrier. Mera decided to follow Indus around, after he helped her with something and her not being able to repay him. Indus wants the amulet for Mera, because Mera decided to follow him around for no good reason. He wants Giovanni, because his epithet is primarily used for healing. Once he learns that Percy's epithet can also heal, he obviously goes for hers (because in the og, Mera first went for Sylvie).
Prediction: Zora (who I assume is swapped with Ramsey because of the opening) Will have a scam involving aging wine via her epithet and selling it for a high price
As if someone talking to a @no body what I have to say is what is Ramsey doing his ability is not stronger than Zora's how is he going to scare her is my question
@@SomeoneNews Well, he could turn people into gold, or their internal organs, which, well, would kill them. We know he can manipulate organic matter, as seen with the pinecone, and render himself physically invulnerable by turning himself, or parts of himself, into gold. Hell, he can even piece himself back together after dismemberment. How to scare her? Maybe he turns her hand, or even her eyeballs, into solid gold as a threat, or turns her mouth into gold (thus basically gagging her) to shut her up while he talks. "Turning any object into solid gold" is really powerful, you just have to know *where* you apply it. It's not as flashy as literally controlling time, but it can be terrifying if used right. And if he gets Zora's level of proficiency with his Epithet (and Zora Ramsey's... lack thereof), that might very well be the case.

It’s really cool how the personalities are more shifted to fit different roles. Original Mera is snarky and fatigued, her being the leader all the time makes her exhausted and kind of done with the people around her, like she’s almost at her breaking point (pun intended). Switched Mera is still fragile (yet undoubtedly more optimistic), but being in a servant position means she’s incredibly devoted. So, she isn’t completely fed up with her role, but is instead mostly anxious and panicked. Original Indus is simple and oblivious, him being a servant means he only needs to do what Original Mera says, without putting much thought into it. Switched Indus is still less intelligent than Original Mera, but him being in the leader position means this manifests as being much more militaristic, direct and stoic. Like it makes it less like complete swaps of personalities and more like how the characters would actually act if they were in different positions. *also is Pheenie’s banzai-name Lambchop cuz that is AMAZING*
I'd say it's useful in Swap!Molly's case. She ACTUALLY sounds competent, confident, and cold compared to Classic!Giovanni's leadership of his Banzai Crew.
Also, SPOILER ALERT Indus' epithet affects his way of speaking: He can't feel emotion, because his epithet flares up when anything dangerous is involved, which is also why nobody gets close.
Also, it completely changes the dynamic between Indus and Mira. The goal still seems to be to heal Mira, but now Indus is the one with agency. Indus is trying to protect Mira, and Mira hardly has the self preservation instincts to be safe against herself. It's pretty sad, actually.
okay, this is amazing, but there's one thing about this that I love more than anything. in epithet erased, the character dynamic between Giovanni and Molly had a lot of elements related to Molly needing a supportive father figure and Giovanni stepping into that role perfectly. now here, we can see Giovanni needing a supportive mother figure, and I can almost certainly see "mama bear" being the perfect stand in!
The paralel go even futher since in Epiphet Erased, Molly have a dumb childish irresponsible dad, and Giovanni is a good father figure while being Childish and Dumb, BUT have a sense of responsibility in his own way and care for peoples of his group. In Epiphet Switch, Giovanni's mom (who is at least responsible enough to keep an eye on the kids) is really authoritary. And we have hint that Molly have part of her authority coming from the fear she inspire to her underlings, but, can be sweet, a soft glove on an iron hand. So, in both case, the addoptive parent figure is a "Better" version of biological parent :D
I'd imagin once gio gets to know molly, he'll realize that she actually a NERVOUSE WRECK that is trying to keep her composure through put all this only for gio to smack back into it and tell her she's already great and shouldn't keep trying to live to thers exepction, it crystal my heart out thinking about
This whole "nice and actually confident robbers" thing the swapped banzai blasters have is too funny for me. They sound like a bunch of moms trying to break bad.
I'm interested in how this will pan out. Since they all keep their personalities and their backstories I assume are roughly the same albeit altered to fit their new roles, I wonder why Molly would join the Banzai Blasters despite it being an obvious scam, plus Pheenie being rich as hell.
If the roles are swapped, maybe Pheenie is part of a long line of Villains and this is a sort of internship thing since doing that with a previous villainous family member would be dangerous, since Switched!Songstress probably doesn't have a no-kill rule. Assuming, of course, that Pheenie still has family and her fortune hasn't been confiscated. Alternatively, Pheenie and Trixie were Switched, and Trixie's parents aren't willing to bankroll them, possibly until they get results, which is why they went for the Arsene Amulet. Or Trixie is the magical girl in training who snapped under the pressure and decided to become a bad guy, and Molly joined the Banzai Blasters to keep her from getting taken advantage of, persuading Pheenie to do the same under the logic that as soon as they have the Amulet, Molly can go full All For One and start taking Epithets for the girls to use. I suspect Lorelai to be high up on her list of targets, possibly the first. Molly might not hard-counter her if Prison of Plastic is going to... happen at all, but she soft-counters Lorelai, and all she needs to do is get close. If Pheenie doesn't have her Beta self's Epithet, Augment's potential as a buffer is probably perfect for her, as well as Epithet Summons she can customize, since she's not really a fighter by nature.

A good plot for Mera and Ignus to steal the arsene amulet is a switch of fates, Mera grew up in a nomad tribe and was raised with no worries which granted her more control of her epithet while Ignus grew up in a prestigious yet stressful household with a epithet forced him to develop a mental disorder that causes him to constantly create barriers outside and inside him. The barriers inside him make him just as strong as canon Ignus except with the downside of putting barriers around his nerves. Ignus could be dealing with a slow curse of turning into living stone, year by year losing all sense in touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight until he becomes a walking coffin unless he gets a epithet that can counteract his own... like the opposite of solid... almost like soup.

Thank you guys so much again for having me! It was a treat to see this all come together, and I learned a lot about improving my art and working on a production in ways I wouldn't be able to otherwise. A lot of heart was put into this, and it shows in the final product. Well done to everyone involved!!
So for the Banzai civilian names here (aside from Ben and Car Crash/Fred, because we knew those from canon)… Spike is actually her real name Dark Star is Neil (considering the exchange with Ben about the mask) Cole is Crusher (power of true love, anyone?) Andrew is Flamethrower (mentioned by Neil/Dark Star as the boys leave) Am I somewhere in the ballpark?
All correct! Spike isn't her real name, but it's already her nickname because she's really good at Spikeball (a game with a softball and trampoline, usually played on the beach). I'm glad you can tell from their dialogue!
I have a small theory for why they’re stealing the amulet. Same thing as in the normal series, but Indus is trying to get it for Mera, possibly so she can heal and recover from the many many pains from her fragile epithet. Or because indus thinks his epither is dumb, and he wants a different epithet. Either or!
This AU is probably one of the best I’ve found. The characters having their personalities/roles switched but not their powers makes for great new takes on the characters. Giovanni is such an adorable little brat.
Dude, this is incredible! the AU makes use of all the characters/original ideas in a really creative way, and the voice acting paired with the visuals just takes this to a whole other level. I can tell this is a work of dedication and love for the original story, and it was an absolute treat to watch. And the songs 💖💖 Seriously, just a fantastic job all around. I hope to see more of this in the future. Amazing job!! 😊
Holy crap, I know Molly has a crud ton of potential as an epithet user, especially with the right influences and self confidence, being this strong at the age of what I’m guessing is a teenager or young adult makes sense, she’s ridiculously strong
*Excellent* work. The story still works, it is really interesting to see both the recognizable story beats and the adaptative changes. It's just very well made all around.
This is surprisingly charming, and while going in I was sceptical about it, this actually turned out really nice! I love the altered dynamics between molly and Giovanni and Mera and Indus, it’s interesting how you chose to swap their personalities. So while this may not overtake the original, I’d still say it’s an extremely promising start.
wait wait wait ARE RAMSEY AND ZORA SWITCHED?? If so I really hope Ramsey has a some kinda super strong ability called "Heart of Gold," where he _literally_ turns someone's heart into gold, causing it to _stop beating._ And then in the climax of the duel (where the extra animated part goes), Zora reverses Ramsey's gold petrification using her epithet.
I'm so glad I finally got around to watching this, Swap AUs are one of my favorite go tos when I'm in the mood for something... a little different! The art, the music, the character swaps, what a joy!
Oh sweet. An epithet erased AU. This ought to be interestin-. IS THAT FLIPPIN RAMSEY IN ZORA'S CLOAK AND HAT?! OHMYGOOOOOOOO-.XD Subbing just to see how that turns out.
There are very few times where I like "swapped" storyline it very rarely adds to the story and is just the original but with different characters in different places. Now at least in my opinion how you rank these things, are in the subtle differences, maybe Indus actually wants the amulet for mera which would lead to whole different dynamic, this mera isn't as dumb as original Indus, so she probably can't be manipulated. That's what makes this stuff amazing for another example of this phenomenon try to find the underswap asgore fight, I'm not gonna explain but essentially what I said here.
This looks fantastically well made… but honestly I’m kinda disappointed that Ramsey’s a cowboy here with his aesthetic, and Zora is just whatever Ramsey was doing. Like, Ramsey could’ve had Hitman (the game) style aesthetic or 007 or spy/action movie suave, wearing a suit and using an assortment of guns, shooting bullets that turn people to gold in one hit and doing cool martial arts stuff, since his epithet requires more mundie combat skills to be useful in a fight. Plus it fits his aesthetic as a con artist and businessman in the main universe, his first appearance was in a suit in fact, and he never underestimated a mundie, of course he’d train to high hell to be able to fight like one. More importantly, unlike Zora, he’s in it for the profit more than anything else, making him more of a threat, because he’s strong with or without his epithet and doesn’t have a fair fighting code like Zora to get in his way. Or maybe he could’ve been a swashbuckling pirate or something with that kind of aesthetic. Hell, if you’re gonna go western lean more into prospector than cowboy. Meanwhile, Zora could be on the run for more vigilante style crimes: breaking and entering, stealing, getting in fights with and playing pranks on important people, being more of a Robin Hood cowboy than anything. Ramsey would still hunt her and be a threat, and Zora would still be a lot of what she is. Her lack of training means we could probably see more of the hotheaded side of her that she keeps stowed away in the main series. The project is cool, and I have no criticisms for what I haven’t seen yet, I just hope that title card isn’t consistent.
Never knew that this is what I wanted to see today! And can I just say how much I love their personalities swapped! It's just as good as their original ones! Mira is adorable, Indus is a badass, Giovanni is exactly how I picture him as a kid, and Molly is a literal momma bear! LOVE IT

Thank you guys so much again for having me! It was a treat to see this all come together, and I learned a lot about improving my art and working on a production in ways I wouldn't be able to otherwise. A lot of heart was put into this, and it shows in the final product. Well done to everyone involved!!
So for the Banzai civilian names here (aside from Ben and Car Crash/Fred, because we knew those from canon)…
Spike is actually her real name
Dark Star is Neil (considering the exchange with Ben about the mask)
Cole is Crusher (power of true love, anyone?)
Andrew is Flamethrower (mentioned by Neil/Dark Star as the boys leave)
Am I somewhere in the ballpark?
All correct! Spike isn't her real name, but it's already her nickname because she's really good at Spikeball (a game with a softball and trampoline, usually played on the beach). I'm glad you can tell from their dialogue!
All I’m gonna say is is that giomommys va has the “gIOVANNI-“ down
ITS DONE!!! This was so fun to work on, and everyone who worked on it was great!! especially hotshot and cole's va
MY HEART CAN'T HANDLE MERA'S PUPPY DOG WHIMPERS AAAAAHHHHHH Q.Q
Such a great job, you guys!! Look at us, I'm so proud-
CONGRATS EVERYONE!!! It was such a pleasure to work with you!! I hope to do so again soon!
Honestly Mera in this is adorable
I have a small theory for why they’re stealing the amulet. Same thing as in the normal series, but Indus is trying to get it for Mera, possibly so she can heal and recover from the many many pains from her fragile epithet. Or because indus thinks his epither is dumb, and he wants a different epithet. Either or!
This AU is probably one of the best I’ve found. The characters having their personalities/roles switched but not their powers makes for great new takes on the characters. Giovanni is such an adorable little brat.
Yes
Dude, this is incredible! the AU makes use of all the characters/original ideas in a really creative way, and the voice acting paired with the visuals just takes this to a whole other level. I can tell this is a work of dedication and love for the original story, and it was an absolute treat to watch. And the songs 💖💖 Seriously, just a fantastic job all around. I hope to see more of this in the future. Amazing job!! 😊
: )
Holy crap, I know Molly has a crud ton of potential as an epithet user, especially with the right influences and self confidence, being this strong at the age of what I’m guessing is a teenager or young adult makes sense, she’s ridiculously strong
Well, if we're assuming that Giovanni and his boys, and Molly and her girls ages are switched, then they'd probably be 19.
@@numatruehome100 yup.
Ive seen multiple "reverse role" AU interpretations of this series but I think this one has to be my favorite.
Art: 9/10
Writing: 10/10
Voice acting: 10/10
Conclusion: Yes.
*Excellent* work. The story still works, it is really interesting to see both the recognizable story beats and the adaptative changes. It's just very well made all around.
6:10 Oh my god that small puppy whine. Switched Mera needs a hug and some advil.
THE FANDOM IS PROVIDING
I very much enjoyed this. Great job to everyone involved!
wait wait wait ARE RAMSEY AND ZORA SWITCHED??
If so I really hope Ramsey has a some kinda super strong ability called "Heart of Gold," where he _literally_ turns someone's heart into gold, causing it to _stop beating._ And then in the climax of the duel (where the extra animated part goes), Zora reverses Ramsey's gold petrification using her epithet.
Oh, yup, just saw him right there in the intro theme
I would hug this Mera...if that wouldn't also injure her further.
Okay, this whole thing is great! I love this entire swap AU already. I want to see more!
"It's bad which is good, which is bad unless it's good bad then it's good which this is a good bad and not a bad good so it's good."
OHMYGOOOOOOOO-.XD
Subbing just to see how that turns out.
I'm only 50 seconds in and this ABSOLUTE GREMLIN CHILD. Oh my gosh I love him
1:16 I love how the theme song is also switched it’s kinda the opposite of the original
You’re going to like the next episode! :) This is exactly how I feel about most swap AUs and I’m really glad you’re enjoying the variations!
i missed the premiere oh no D: this turned out so good!!
26:02 That face... that... is not Mister Barrier... not even close...
It's probably not final. You're points about Hitman Ramsey are really cool!
Never knew that this is what I wanted to see today! And can I just say how much I love their personalities swapped! It's just as good as their original ones! Mira is adorable, Indus is a badass, Giovanni is exactly how I picture him as a kid, and Molly is a literal momma bear! LOVE IT
this turned out amazing!!! you all did so good! am so happy to be apart of it
I wish there was more of this
Love Giovanni as a little gremlin child, and Molly as an surprisingly threatening villain.
I quite enjoyed this AU ! Will be gladly look at the next episode if you did some others !!
(And, Gosh, Indus is really frightening! You did a good job both with the illustrations AND the VA !)
I love the twist! I mean switch! What a fun take on Epithet Erased! And with reduxed OP and ED too!? Great job!
That is a super clever parody on the opening.
This was so good! Giovanni is a lil gremlin and Mera is a goofy dork! They're both so cute! You took a great story and turned it into something so unique while staying true to the source material! Amazing work with the story, narration, just everything!
Absolutely wonderful! The art is fantastic and I've been looking forward to this!
OK, that outro made me VERY exited to see Sylvester Ashling. I know it's only in the last few episodes (that are in the museum) BUT STILL- I wanna see Sylvie's full color design >:D
There is a certain moment that I have seen so many people draw and I hope you guys do it when we get there
I'm not gonna into more details because that would be spoilers
I suddenly really want Epithet Erased to reach Undertale levels of AU fanfics being made. THE EPITHET ERASED MULTIVERSE!
OH MY GOD YES
That would be cool but Undertale is a giant
For the love of God above, Devil below, everyhing between and outside, NO Please NO.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BABY GIO MY HEART SO FULL!!!
I LOVE THIS! I got into the epithet erased a few weeks back and I’m partly obsessed with this so seeing this makes me all happy!! Keep up the awesome work!
I was curious as to just how this would go and then next thing I knew my jaw dropped open from being impressed for the fourth time in four minutes.
I love this so much. Everyone is completely in character and it is amazing.
Hmmmm…… HOLY CRAP I HAVE BEEN WAITING 2 YEARS FOR SOMETHING THIS GOOD!
What can I say, sometimes Al Gore's Rhythms know how to pick 'em. (Seriously though the writer really gets these characters and I can't wait to see how this plays out)
I think indus wants the power for mera and that’s really cute
THIS IS INSANE!! THE ART AND WIRITING ARE AMAZING I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
This was very cool! It feels like a well-written parallel without being a direct retelling of the story! I was also really impressed by the voices, the impressions were pretty close.
Wish I could've given Mera a hug though :']
Gosh yes! I already had lots of empathy for her in EE, while she was a bad guy... So in this AU, I can only want her to be happy AND safe !
I'm pretttty sure you'll break her ribs if you hug her.
@@theonejackal89 yeah that's what makes it even sadder... :']
This was amazing! I can't wait to see more episodes of this if you guys are planning on them.
HELLO YES I GOT BLESSED TODAY????
