The Basano Vase Paradox That No One Can Explain
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 20 сен 2024
- This vase looked like nothing special. If you saw it somewhere in an antique store, you’d hardly give it a second glance. The vase itself is a paradox. Even though numerous websites list it as one of the most haunted objects in history, people know almost nothing about the vase itself or its whereabouts. However, there IS something that is known.
The first mention of the vase goes back to the 15th century. Legend has it that this piece of art was crafted in a small Italian town. It was supposed to be a wedding gift for a beautiful young bride delivered to her anonymously the night before the wedding. The woman believed it was a sign of good luck, but the vase turned out to be quite the opposite...

SUMMARY:
- The bride never appeared at her own wedding - she was found lying on the floor in her room, the vase clutched tightly in her cold hands. Her untimely demise was never explained.
- Not long after the incident with the bride, another family member got hold of the Basano Vase. Unfortunately, that person didn't have much time to enjoy the exquisite silver jar because they passed away shortly afterwards.
- According to some records, an enigmatic priest was the one to lock the artifact away. Other people believe that the family simply buried the vase and tried to forget about this nightmare.
- Nothing was heard about the vase for several centuries. That is, until one fateful day in 1988, when the cursed object reared its ugly head again, bringing along its familiar friends: mystery and tragedy.
- There’s no specific location or even name, but it's said that a young man dug the vase up in his back yard. The details of this discovery vary from story to story.
- Its new owner was a pharmacist. But the mysterious curse had already found its next victim. Only three months later, the pharmacist fell to some mysterious ailment.
- The vase continued to change hands, leaving a seemingly endless trail of death in its wake. It's unclear how many more lives the vase claimed, but one sale seemed to put an end to it all!
- At first, things went as usual: the new owner succumbed to some quick and mysterious illness after coming into possession of the vase. But this time, their family didn’t sell it.
- The police did what anyone else would: they offered it to a museum. But the vase’s reputation was already well known, so no museum would take it.
- In any case, after museums refused to take the vase, it's said that the police got rid of it. But again, opinions differ and the details are unclear.
- Any sources you find have the same vague descriptions of the bride, the anonymous 1988 man, pharmacist, doctor, archeologist, police officer - all unnamed.
- It's obvious that there is much more to the Basano Vase than the stories tell us. Its inexplicable origin and untimely demise of those who owned the object look like something of either sheer coincidence or pure legend.

Dear Mr. Side, the definition of “Paradox” is as follows, A seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true. An example of a paradox is the statement “everything I say is a lie” therefore that statement is a lie and so not everything I say is a lie somethings would have to be the truth for that statement to be true yet it is a lie and around and round you go. That is a paradox. This was a story, an old wives tail meant to warn of the dangers of greed and wealth and NOT a paradox. Good day Sir, I SAID GOOD DAY!
I was also looking for the paradox in this tale.
Yea i don't know why paradox included on the title
Yeah, this was not a paradox and I was disappointed
I don’t know if y’all see a lot of videos from this channel, but it seems like high quality animation accompanied by misleading and bad information. Little stories like this are benign, but they did one about psychopaths that bothered me in how misleading it was. I’m kind of repeatedly disappointed by the quality of the info from this channel.

Has anyone wondered how the vase got cursed in the first place? I mean, the FIRST person who received the vase died so doesn't that mean the man who made it either cursed it or had it cursed. And if this is indeed the case then what had that bride done to this man to result in him "gifting" her such a horribly cursed object as revenge? There are indeed many mysteries surrounding this vase. 🤔

We once had an incident were a computer program failed whenever a woman touched the keyboard. When a man touched it nothing wrong happened. It was funny in the beginning but as the number of persons trying it rose above 10 a sort of panic started. It was too weird. In fact the cause was eventually identified as a wrong parameter type and the fails occured at random. But random events often seem to hint at a method that simply is not real.
why am i thinking that there is that deadly bacteria thing in the vase that is mentioned in 'series of unfortunate events'?
Or a virus.
If it's a bacteria or a virus all the people who died because of that vase would kind off have same symptoms and may be that can be find out I guess
Plus silver is anti bacterial and anti viral lol so probably not. I thought the Mercury or other poison theory was pretty good though
One of us has a wrong definition of "paradox"
Next season. American Horror Story:Vase
Sounds like an urban legend with no basic in fact. Nobody knows what happened to it. Because it's a lot of campfire sleepover scary story stuff.
Did no one think of putting a Geiger counter near it. Or check if there were any other metals contaminating it like Mercury?
Edit or has a rare disease on it like what happens in Egyptian tombs.
Good theories XD I also wrote about the rare disease, only its too long of a theory to read lol.
Yea those ppl don't know stuv
Could be.
The Egyptian tomb problem was a spore, by opening the tomb oxygen was added, spores were stirred up.. Spores were then inhaled into people's lungs.. Not a mystery illness nor a curse...
interesting story, however, i am still trying to figure out where a paradox applied.
Maybe the paradox is there is no paradox?
Because its so famous, but no one can verify what it's famous for...and they want to find out more, but can't really follow through with their theories of why it's curse because if they do they'll succumb to the curse

Me: Destroy the Vase With Dynamite Or C4 Time Bomb By Putting it inside.
Sounds like theirs a property to the vase that is toxic to me, not cursed. Touching it wasn’t the main problem, it might have been exposure or certain situations that trigger a reaction.
Actually i have a same looking vase 😐 and my parents told me that it is antic piece😨😨😧😧 i got it a week ago i am actually scared
But the video says it affected only people who declared their ownership over it. If it’s toxic then it should be effecting people indiscriminately
@@abhiigg Did you search up the real image of the Basano Vase? Does it exactly look like it?

Theory: what if the original artist accidentally or unintentionally used a radioactive material or isotopes?
Brainy... I like it 🤔🙂
May b it was only for the bride.... Others were just poor victims
This vase might be a great deal older than the XVth century. Until the XVIII century, metallurgy was closely related to alchemy. I suspect heavy metal poisoning. Touching it, or perhaps exposing it to fireplace fumes, might release toxics. Absorption could be influenced by a number of factors.
i think it has a mysterious chemical
Ethalapak Ravi Varma inside the vase?
I guess it was just a myth honestly.
But if it isn't myth then I guess you are right it must have some kind of chemicals but if it Have a chemical then how did that chemical entered the body I mean so many people have touched the vase only few who owns it dies also the police man also have touched it and didn't actually died so I guess it's not through the contact of epidermis to the vase ....okay, it is mysterious but still I think its a myth as the video said that at the point when the bride revived that vase, the design of that time aren't actually plain and sliver steel it more likely to be colourful and artistic and much more points that he said but I am not really sure that if it's true or not but we still don't know the actual story of that vase .
@@catycat6114 vapors perhaps.. and maybe only from inside, which might explain why effect varied with degree of contact
@@BRIGHTSIDEOFFICIAL Or maybe it is radioactive
Possibly contained a toxic metal. Which when placed above the fireplace, which was traditional, it would heat up. Releasing toxic fumes...

The Basano Vase: *_I'm about to end these men's whole careers_*
Well I’m no archeologist, but I do live near an old port, and our lighthouse museum has heaps of round bottom pots. They were made that shape for stacking for shipping, and would contain olive oil.
But why silver? You wouldn’t have stacks of something so precious.
They said it was carved, so maybe someone carved the bottom round and smuggled it into a cargo to get rid of it!
Or maybe it was a symbolic piece, to be buried in the grave of someone powerful, to travel with them to the next life.
One thing’s for sure, whoever gave it as a wedding present was not in favor of the wedding!
Me: *opens the lid of the vase out of curiosity*

this video in short... "EVERYONE DIED"
So... where's my Paradox
Now that the vase is on Bright Side... Mr Bright side has only 3 months to go
Silver often is found with Mercury or other toxic heavy metals. These metal oxides are absorbed through the skin and inhalation.
Now I know what the next episode of Supernatural is going to be about.
I have a huge theory! The bride didn't want to die disturbed! And to everyone that held it for auctions got huge KARMA for disturbing the vengeful curse within the cursed vase! Everyone actually deserved the same fate as the dimwitted person; who on purpose disturbed the final resting place of the angry brides soul.

Homer: [relieved] That's good.
Owner: The Frogurt is also cursed.
Homer: [worried] That's bad.
Owner: But you get your choice of topping!
Homer: [relieved] That's good.
Owner: The toppings contains Potassium Benzoate. [Homer stares, confused] That's bad.
Homer: [worried] Can I go now?
may be the silver had some other toxic material melted into it, and not cursed?
DABACANNABIS 420 My scientific mind says “absolutely”
Exactly😎
If the curse was activated when the top was open wouldn't that mean the guy who found a note in it would be cursed?
This is not a paradox. It's just an unverified urban legend, until other evidence comes to light.
My thought exactly.
I was literally wondering where's the paradox in all of this lol. Also there are holes in this urban legend story. For example, nobody knows where the family hid it but it was supposedly dug up by that one guy? If it was dug up then we know where they hid it, right where it was found.
wow great work done by this channel
So the family buried it and never decided to seek and find the person who gifted it to the bride? 👀
Says "has not much knowledge of it's whereabouts"
*explains the whole history of it with timeline*
That's the paradox
I have a question, Who gave the vase at the first place??
Amazon employees??
If the vase's design doesn't match the designs in 15th century this could also mean that the vase could have been made from different century. After all its origin is unknown and the gift was anonymously sent to the bride. If only the vase could talk.

Has anyone studied this vase much? In some myths Pandora's Box was a sliver vase.
In case anyone doesn't know, Pandora's Box was given to her by the gods of Ancient Greece when she was to marry Prometheus's brother, Epimetheus. Prometheus was getting punished for giving humans fire, a tool of the gods. Pandora was given the "box" as a wedding present, and was warned never to open it, but she did, the "box" released spirits of misery, (and one of hope) Pandora closed the box before the last spirit could escape. Could this vase be Pandora's Box, with the last spirit killing these people? All myths have a shred of truth.
many different harmful and fatal chemicals were used as paints, pottery paints & glazes, in all media.
many chemicals weren't banned in the 🇺🇸 until even the 1970's.
my initial guess is that there was something in the surfaces which would naturally be touched, absorbed into the skin, then it takes effect.
I'd 1st look up chemicals that could do this... then apply detective skills.
easy peasy.😁
Person: *possesses vase*
Vase: I'mma ruin this man's whole career
This is Pandora's Box, because in the stories it wasn't actually a box
If this vase is truly cursed then wouldn’t you think people would try their best to keep as little detail as possible about it? I mean if there were pictures of it and there was an exact location to where it was buried then someone out there will dig this vase up and start the cycle over again. Some things in this world are just better left in mystery.

The answer to this I think is in the ancient practice of consecrating places like temples or objects. Ancient religions were very familiar with this and was practiced by some. It is similar to blessing the wafer or bread in church but opposite. Instead with a negative intent. In India they also said you shouldn’t eat or receive anything from another who may have effected the energy of received food/item with negative energy, there are stories of people who drink water or eat a little food from someone who does the opposite of prayer for the food and instead like puts a bad prayer like a curse to make the food have a negative effect on the individual. Also in India metal is used as a great conductor to hold and transmute the intent/prayer energy into and store it. That it why temples used metals and people wore certain metals to retain certain blessings they put into the metal with or without realizing it to benefit and help their lives and surround themselves in consecrated good energy. However the opposite can also be done by the intent of the energy stored onto an object. That’s is how this silver vase could have effected people because of the negative prayer put into it and given to the bride. That is why it’s important to always put love our there and not negativity because it always finds its way around and you would rather have great energy circulating around in the world like love and happiness. Stay Loving and Amazing people out in the world
2nd Here!!
WoW i made it really fast
I think, if there's any truth to the origin story, that the interior of the vase was coated with a poison that works just by coming into contact with it and the original gifter left a note in it to entice the bride and perhaps others to put their hand into the vase causing her and others to die of poisoning.
Or maybe the whole story is just that -- a story.
