I think Eddie being the face of the band has allowed the members to avoid a lot of the pitfalls of the rock and roll/heavy metal "lifestyle" that has wrecked so many other bands, and also kept any one member from thinking they are the "star" of the band. One of the best management decisions in the history of popular music.

If you take a look at the album booklets until the album A Matter of Life & Death, (you can even take a look on the Discogs website for convenience) they used to have actual photos of them. Until the album The Final Frontier, it's when they only had like a photo of them in the dark. And in The Book of Souls album, they also had a picture of them but with some digital effect and a pyramid behind them. Huge Rush fan with a big appreciation for Maiden. He hit it on the head; the essential difference between Rush and Maiden. When you break them down musically they're so similar. The themes, the historical inspiration for lyrics, the attention to detail, the integrity, etc. Maiden just presents it more, like he said, in your face...and with a bit more theater.

Iron Maiden made the impossible putting heavy guitar in to it and the key is that you play guitar in a native way with its rots in folk music. I can not make it becuase it is not in my blood, the rythm is strange too me I hardly never ever play their stuff and every time I hear them I wonder how in earth do they pull togheter that ratteling crap to something so good?

James Florin The minute I heard Speed of Light, I immediately turned away. A song THAT FUCKING SLOW does not deserve the title "Speed of Light." Listen to Stratovarius' Speed of Light, now THAT'S what a song called "Speed of Light" should be called.
And no, I have been bitten once too many times by Maiden, I am done with them. they can't write music anymore, and they STILL refuse to play Flight of Icarus on tour. Until they play FoI again, they won't even get 3 seconds of my attention.
