The History of The Muppets (Muppet*Vision 3D / Part 9) | Animation Lookback
#Muppets #History #MuppetVision3D Кино
My highlights of the lookback:
- Part 2 with Michael Eisner playing a key role in Jim Henson’s life by greenlighting his pilots for “The Muppet Show”
- Part 4 with more of Jeffrey Katzenberg’s tyranny and Michael Eisner's casualty during his time at the Walt Disney Company
- Part 5 with Jeffrey Katzenberg demanding Brian Henson to cut the song ‘When Love is Gone’ from “The Muppet Christmas Carol”
- Part 6 with “Muppets from Space” being a key factor for less theatrically-released projects from the Jim Henson Company
- Part 7 with “Muppets Most Wanted”, once again, ending any more chances of Muppet-related movies being put on the big screen
My favorite Muppet film during childhood:
- "Muppet Treasure Island”
My honorable mention of my favorite non-Muppet film:
- "Labyrinth”
My special thank you:
- The “Fraggle Rock” franchise for putting me in an optimistic mood
Finally, thank you, Puppet AniMat, for this most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational lookback on Kermit the Frog and his friends. See you later, dude!
The easter egg in Nimona gave us a hint for next Animation Lookback.
If that’s going to be what I think it’s going to be, I can’t wait for the next one to take flight just like a certain character from a certain film.
With that said, I see it as an Honorable Mention, since it was meant to be in the line-up before COVID shook things up for the worst.
Is that where that clip was from? Sorry, it’s just that I’ve never seen Nimona
And the one that would give me rage and PTSD
@@arbytv5139Yep, I highly recommend watching it. Nimona is very underrated.
Waldorf: That was a great retrospective from Animat himself I don't care what you say.
Statler: I thought it was dumb!
Waldorf: ... Maybe your right.
Both: DOHOHOHOHOHO!!

@@facusmendoza1061 I know I saw.
Next time on Animation Lookback:
The sky's the limit....
Blue Sky?
Easily it's blue sky, the studio may not have the best reputation but a lot of love came with the team making those movies from 2002 to 2023!!!
Probably the remake version like DreamWorks animation Look back Plus or Pixar animation Lookback plus
Not just any sky, but a sky that is blue and it’s not the app
So either the next Animation Lookback is going to be BlueSky Studios or we might see an updated Lookback on either DreamWorks or Pixar.
In conclusion: Animation Lookback of The Muppets is not just the best episode of the Animation Lookback, but Animation Lookback of The Muppets is the greatest episode of all time next to Animation Lookback of Walt Disney Animation Studios+ (2019-2021)! After two years, I had a lot of fun with the Animation Lookback of The Muppets! And that is why I am happy to give the Animation Lookback of The Muppets (2022-2024) a 10/10! I will never forget my favorite episode. Next time of Animation Lookback, Get ready for Animation Lookback of Blue Sky Studios. That’s All Folks!
For a show that has a lot of cheap 3D tricks it certainly makes the most of these characters for such a show.
In some ways, it's almost like Jim went back to the days of the Wilkins coffee commercials, where they just did all that crazy stuff on a shoestring budget.
@@CinnamonGrrlErin1 Those commercials were so gleefully sadistic too...
I wish we could've gotten the Muppetland envisioned by Jim
Agreed.
Same. I would’ve loved the Great Gonzo’s Pizza Pandemonium.
It might not be too late. Even though Jim Henson is no longer with us, his ideas haven’t died yet.
I would like to see it happen, with the main entrance featuring a dedication plaque to Jim Henson himself.
@@hunterolaughlinI would’ve loved The Great Muppet Movie Ride!
One of the greatest ironies of that show was how Waldo was partially made by Pacific Data Images, which was assimilated into DreamWorks Animation.
Every time I went to a Disney Theme Park, I always attended Muppet Vision 3D. It was like some sort of tradition for my Orlando vacations. I took all sorts of pictures inside the theater. It’s also where I was formally introduced to the character of Bean Bunny, having previously seen him in the background of certain movies.
I really wish that they would release this film on home media, even if it’s just as a bonus feature.
Muppet Vision 3D will forever go down as my favorite attractions in both Disney and Universal theme park history. I also wish we could’ve gotten The Great Muppet Movie Ride cause I imagine it would’ve been freaking awesome! And also the studio that Jim wanted down there reminded me exactly of Nickelodeon Studios in Universal Florida. But like all the issues with Florida not being a great location to film down there due to being a right to work state and not allowing relationships with entertainment unions, the reason why the trend to make Florida the next Hollywood or New York failed, then the studio probably most likely would’ve shut down too
Muppet Vision 3D needs all the appreciation and recognition it can get. I’ll be damned if the people running the park one day decide to *SPLASH MOUNTAIN MUPPET VISION 3D!!!!!!*
Oh heaven forbid that!
What does that mean?
@@daelen.cclark You know about the upcoming attraction at the Disney Parks; Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? Well before that, the ride used to be Splash Mountain. That ride had been one of the Magic Kingdom’s and Disneyland’s most popular attractions for over 30 years, and now it’s been replaced. I don’t want the same thing to happen to the final Muppet project Jim Henson created.
@@daelen.cclark It means that (hypothetically) one day Muppet Vision will be permanently shut down and replaced
Which would be disastrous
No Muppet Vision 3D will never 👎 closed permanently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
All right. Time to finish this Lookback at Walt Disney World.
Update: Okay, so our next Lookback will be at Blue Sky. I'm both excited and nervous for this. Excited because it will be interesting to take a look at the company before it closed and the production of Nimona. But on the other hand, I don't think Animat is happy of the fact that he is going to look into the history of the later Ice Age sequels.
I feel that dawn of the Dinosaurs became the perfect ending of ice Age but just like toy Story they screw it up
Information on ice age 4 and 5 are kind of limited, in fact the blu ray of collision course barely has any behind the scenes material
I was hoping that one day Animat would do a full-on editorial on the history of Nimona. But I guess a segment in Animation Lookback or even its own episode will do.
@@JustinGrant-jf5gvit's going to be exciting the final part where nimona survived the shutdown
27:45 I saw that scene before that's from a miracle film that we thought that we never going to see the light of day
Join us next time on animation lookback
As we relive the legacy of a studios that no longer it's with us but its impact have put a Mark in animation from a mammoth a saber-toothed tiger a Sloth And a squirrel to a morphing girl who Finnished what they started
It's a story that must be told
Blue Sky studios is next guys!
All I can say about the next look back is, I can guarantee that Stefan Ellison is gonna love this one!
3:16 actually they should make muppetville a reality but they’d have to get the rights to henson’s other works like labyrinth rhe dark crystal and fraggle rock (but not sesame street, that’s off limits)
The next Animation Lookback will be Blue Sky Studios!
Either that or Netflix
Its obviously bluesky studios, @Lolakitten78
@@1_Helluva_Hazbin_Fella after rewatching it, it is Blue Sky
If that's the case, how do you think he's gonna tackle all the Ice Age movies?

Definitely a great finale to your Animation Lookback on the Muppets and definitely enjoyed this series and hearing about the technical innovations in puppetry Jim Henson was able to accomplish in his lifetime and his studio continues to do today. Similar to the Disney animated films, the Muppets are definitely a great part of our childhoods that we’re glad exists and wouldn’t want to imagine living in a world without.
Also looks like the next Animation Lookback will be on a studio that while its run was unfairly cut short, still has left some impact in the animation realm that will continue to live on.
Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream and Fantasy gave the Muppets a chance to shine in the Midship Detective Agency, an interactive detective game where one of its 3 adventures has the Muppets starring in “the case of the stolen show”
Well for a closing to a long journey, this Honorable mention was quite pleasing. Bluesky will be next, guys!
I was hoping for a Dreamworks lookback plus. That wasn’t what I got. But I got something more exciting. BLUE SKY STUDIOS! YEAH CUTIE!
Let’s just hope they never replace Muppet vision 3D at DHS with something modern if they do they’ll probably be outrage
That was a fun ride with your look back on the Muppets.
Also that easter egg in the final clip does hint about the next animation studios to study from.
Now this is what I call an end of amazing end of a Lookback related to the Muppets
Also about your next lookback: Blue Sky will never die
Blue Sky Studios is next!
The next animation look back for the life of me thought it was Dreamworks+ but this is even better
I really wish I'd gone and seen it when I was there. One-time experience wasted 😩
If you’re referring to the Muppet Vision 3D in California, at least I got to enjoy the attraction before it’s gone. Heck, even my brother enjoyed it.
Now that was an awesome Conclusion! Sure I can say now I feel very disappointed we didn't get those rides they concept, all those ideas seemed amazing! Then again even if Jim was Alive who knows they would've done them anyway, and eventually taken them out once the popularity is shifted. Still, though it's nice that we got what we have and It truly is Jim's Greatest work. Also, Now I know where to go when visiting Disney World again
This really has been quite the entertaining Lookback and I cannot wait for the next one!
We've now come to the finale of this lookback on the Muppets history, and it looks like we'll be looking into the Disney attraction, Muppet Vision 3D. With how much of a legacy the Muppets have left on the world, it was only a matter of time before they took their legacy to the parks.
This lookback on the Muppets has been quite a journey of learning what it took to bring Kermit and the gang into the spotlight, filled with creativity, taking risks, and enduring a lot of drama. While the future of what the Muppets will do next is a mystery for the time being, one thing that cannot be denied is that they've left behind a legacy that has impacted millions around the world, and therefore, they'll always be remembered as entertainment icons. Thank you, Jim Henson and company, for all the hard work you've put into making the Muppet legacy a reality. One could say that because of this legacy and success, "they've done just what they set out to do, thanks to the lovers, the dreamers...and you."
Stay tuned on animation lookback as we relive the legacy of studios who never dies
SpongeBob: “Wow, kylgrv! That was beautiful!” 🥹

Man, it took you almost two years to complete this look back. But now, you will do one about Blue Sky Studios.
Also… …this next Lookback is about to be metal.
Oh yeah, it is! 😈🤟
@@Princess_-gp3epthis is going to be an interesting story from a mammoth saber-toothed tiger sloth and squirrel from the times of ice Age to a morphing girl in futuristic medieval times
Or nutty, because acorns play a key factor to the studio
I get that hint,it’s Blue Sky Never Dies in Nimona,I’m feel your gonna review the history of Blue Sky Studios next for your next Animation Lookback.
Jim Henson at the end of his life gave us something magical, Entertaning, fun & ever lasting The Muppets 3D show and I've yet to go ride this one at the disneyparks yet it's on my list of to do at the parks. Thanks for the Lookbacks & fun facts Mat and it was 2 years of muppety fun.
The next episode of animation look back will be so metal. 😈🤟
The big question is will he manage to talk about the Ice Age franchise objectively?
the last few years have been kinda hard on me, but when you post these lookbacks on the muppets, I reconnect to my childhood and get a little bit happier. thank you, Matt for making this.
A perfect finale to the most Muppetational lookback we’ve ever had!
I never imagined it would come down to "Muppet*Vision 3D" for the last part, but better still, "AWESOME job making this as usual AniMat, just AWESOME!"!🤠😎👏👍💯
A almost 2 year muppet journey now completed I can’t wait for the next lookback.
Thanks for sharing the history of the Muppets, man.
After two years of this sensational and inspirational journey, we finally have a proper ending that got me teary eyed at the end. Thank you Mat for making this muppet lookback the best it could be!! Until next time, can't wait for the next season where will be discussing a fan favorite yet defunct studio where the sky is purely blue!!! Dreams don't die, they live on!!! 👏👏👏🎬
For Jim Henson (1936-1990).🪕
Next Time on Animation Lookback Animat is Going to Talk About An Animation Studio who sadly shut down Three years ago but gave us Some Beloved and Iconic Films
And even one of their films that they work on survived the shutdown and now everyone have now see it
You mean Blue Sky?
BEST EARLY BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!🥳🎉(I’ll be turning 28 on the 7th!)

Blue Sky Studios? Eh, why not? they completed and in assumption they did get their happy ending... At least I hope they did. Yeah, You made a pretty good choice!
Better choice than Nickelodeon for… OBVIOUS reasons.
Yeah, Blue Sky could be a good animation Lookback. And if you haven’t already, you could do Studio Ghibli and Disney’s TV ventures. There’s also Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and the various shows, studios and franchises therein. I’d also love to see a review of the Disney Plus series “Iwaju.” On top of that, has enough happened since the Disney Animation Lookback that another episode could be added? I’d also love a review of #TheOwlHouse .
Time to finish off this Lookback at Walt Disney World! (I hope someone had their Spring Break today!)
OMG BLUE SKY!!!!!!!!
Wow, I cannot believed this is the final chapter of Animation Lookback Muppets. Time runs 🏃🏻♂️ so fast. I hate to this let go.
P.S - I still wished that the Muppets deserves more respect and love ❤️ 😍 💖!
I wish you would've talked about the history of the Muppet Viral Videos. I know you briefly mentioned them in Part 6, but they still were a huge part of Muppet history, as they played a role in the Muppet Show characters coming back in the public eye by the end of the 2000s & start of the 2010s.
Still, this is wonderful look at the history of The Muppet Show & Sesame Street franchises (as well as a few other stuff like Sam and Friends). Your ending speech on why these characters have lasted so long is wonderful & so true! Good luck on your next Animation Lookback!
I was hoping the next animation lookback would be Nickelodeon but I am still looking forward to Blue Sky Studios
My reaction to the post credit scene of this episode is to quote Ballister bold heart, “HOLY SH-“
Dated cgi on Waldo aside, it’s an otherwise timeless show
A good ending to a great lookback. Nice work AniMat!
And that is all!!
It’s finally time! The next lookback is where we are going to a sky that is blue where we meet a certain prehistoric squirrel. I can’t wait!
A journey from a mammoth saber-toothed tiger and sloth from the days of ice Age to a morphing girl from futuristic medieval times who survived it's shut down
This was a fun series from start to finish. I think I'll consider revisiting the Muppet films now that I know what went into making each entry, whether it's from Disney, Universal, or Sony Pictures.
Also, [regarding that last scene], I'd be down for the next Animation Lookback to be on Blue Sky Studios. But of course you can't rush art, so I'd rather wait for the next AL season to come out.
I actually went to see this Attraction at Disney World (2nd time) with my Parents way back in 2016 and I loved it alot

Muppet*Vision 3D was my introduction to Waldo C. Graphic from the Jim Henson Hour.
Is he going to do Blue Sky Studios next? Because that billboard at the end of the video says "Blue Sky Never Dies". Is this what you're telling me?
Cool outro also hell yeah Animation Lookback: The History of Blue Sky is next!
This was a great look back, and I can’t believe that Blue Sky Studios will be the next look back, but when will there be an “Animation Lookback: PIXAR Animation Studios+” in the future.
AniMat already did an Animation Lookback on Pixar and the Lookback is perfect as is and doesn’t need updating. I’d be more down for a sequel to it picking up where he left off with Brave to starting with Monsters University and down to there.
After the Titanic budget for Captain EO, how dare for Disney to nickel and dime Henson.
I was hoping for the MuppetVision 3D ending/exit theme to conclude this animation lookback but never would I ever imagined how perfectly the music syncs with the new logo.
this was a really nice series animat i loved every single episode of this and i cant wait to see how it all ends

I loved this animation look back series.
The Animation Lookback of the muppets It's pretty amazing. Really showcase the ups and downs of their moments of course. I'm so excited to see what's the next animation Lookback would be.

Hey, Animat, is there any chance that you could do a video looking into the history of Wish and how the original idea for the film became more memorable than what they got
Did he forgot to mention that the company also made the Star Fox puppets for promoting the star fox game Star Fox Zero
I went there it was fun
Never knew that the boneyard of the back lot tour had the fire truck from Muppet vision 3-D. Odd, because I used to go on that ride a lot when it was around. It was one of my favorites. some stuff I know that they did have were vehicles from who framed Roger rabbit, including the dip machine, the steamroller, and some of the trolley cars, Jasper and Horace‘s van from the live action 101 dalmatians, one of the ships from the Rocketeer, I believe, and my favorite of the boneyard vehicles, Herbie. RIP studio backlot tour. Also, Ever since the ride closed, I’ve been wondering what happened to all those prop vehicles, and where they are now.
Yeah I sure that ride. I also wonder where those prop vehicles are now. Maybe they’ve been relocated or maybe even auctioned off.
