My father was the head of the Welding Department at Spartanburg Technical College in my hometown, for many years. He always said most of his best welders were women. Very detailed oriented. He told me he had this one lady that was so good that her beads almost looked like a machine had welded them!
Women tend to be better at detail work that requires hand dexterity. Traditionally that would be cloth making and food processing, but it applies to things like Welding as well.
It's a strange thing to watch Hacksmith videos since 9 years: the more you see James and his team making crazy things, the more you find it normal and mundane but still enjoyable to watch when they make another one.
Hey man! I know it a bit of a strange question but can you say Diamond-Division-Champion at the end of your next video? I'm putting something together for a friend. If not, that's completely fine!
Dude, this is literally one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. You guys are so awesome and I love watching your videos. And I can tell you guys really put in effort. Keep it up!
Whoever's reading this, i pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen
The amount of effort and time and money it takes for a project like this to come to life is monumental and it must be so satisfying to finally see it completed. Great job, folks
That's what I was thinking. Even with the internal framing there would be room for a significant amount of lead. Whether it be lead shot or if possible poured in molten. Though that would probably cause warping.
I was curious how much it would weigh if it was filled with lead, so I looked it up. Based on the 700 gallons of volume and lead weighing roughly 150 pounds per gallon, this hammer would weigh: 105000 pounds, or 47627.3 kilograms. That's 47.6 tonnes! Great work as usual, keep up the good work!
With price of lead around 2k$ per ton, it would cost them a bit less than 100k. So only twice the actual budget. I guess the biggest issue would be how to transport that 50 ton monstrosity. And they'd need a bigger crane.
You needed to weld the outside surfaces with low-silica wire. We use it on pipe hand railing that gets hot dipped so that the silica in normal E70x weld wire that makes that extra buildup doesn’t happen lol
You are one of the best youtubers I know I love your content and I wanted to put this post here to remind you of all the hard work you put into your channel and this series love you man stay safe ❤️
Kinda disappointed that it's hollow. Thor's hammer is supposed to be insanely heavy for it size, not just huge... But I suppose filling that huge thing with lead or something would make it literally immoveable.
RUclips algorithm is killing the channel for some reason.... Not only yours but of so só MANY others. This is simply not acceptable. You have very educational and fun content and vídeos like the batsignal and the Thor Hammer teleporting deserved way more views 😩😩😩
I did some calculations based on the dimensions of Mjolnir, if this giant hammer were to be filled with lead, it would weigh around it 32 tons, around 30 tons of lead (5 m^3) the steel alone weighs around 2 tons.
At first i was thinking that's it's small and that you can make a bigger one, but only after i saw all the hard work that was put to this i realized how big this hammer is.
It would be cool. If they made it that size. But instead of the inside heavy medal. Make the inside empty. To be used as a storage room. Like minecraft. Living inside thor hammer.
I just watched the Thors hammer devastate everything in its way. It was strange how cartoonish it was. It smashing the giant nail was definitely my favorite shot🤩😅
That's cool, but when we will see forged Thor's hammer? All this welded versions is too common, forged version in normal size with all heat treatment and good steel will be more unique
Hello there, ..i am here to tell you that Jesus Is Real and he Saved me, i encourage you to pray to him and ask him for strength, mental clarity, peace, guidance and most importantly for him to forgive you of your sins and to help you turn from sin for the kingdom of God is at hand, Look up Romans 10:9, acts 2:38
Better get LLOND here, he needs that hammer for his projects. He'll prove that dwarves make the best weapons and armor in the realm. Moradin be praised.
Could you imagine Ascending to the Summit of Canada's Highest Peak Mount Logan & Discovering that Hammer permanently mounted as a Monument to the God's.
How about a build for ODM grapple gear from attack on titan? A bit of a difficult thing to imagine, but if anyone can do it, it would be you guys. Swords, thunderspears, nothing better for the next one up
When you're finished using it, you must bury it with some elaborate metrics, like a perfect 60 feet deep on a 60* angle, pointing 60* off of facing true North and each line on the hammer being perfectly aligned with some star formation just to mess with future archeologists.
Hey James any idea of making predator weapons in near future I know you make a predator helmet with great tech but we need to see how wepons turn out to be hacksmith

@@Arthur-ek7nd I don't think it's due to better hand dexterity, but rather that women tend to be more patience.

It's to true
yeah, crazy to think it started with just one dude in his garage and now he has a whole super talented engineering team.
Agreed, its amazing how far they've come over the years
Hacksmith is becoming a bit of a local attraction, isn't it?
"Come visit the people who made the world's largest Thor's Hammer!"
Don't know about you guys but Hacksmith, I would absolutely love to see more one day build contests between the team.
"We're not supposed to think about that now, we're supposed to think about that when it's a problem"
Spoken like a true engineer.
Today's fact: The Kakapo bird has a strong, musty smell that attracts predators easily. Because of this, the bird has become critically endangered.
Thank you
Huh… righto
Umm thank you I think this comment will get lots of likes

Thanks, it is really interesting.
Always exciting to see another thor hammer build. Keep up the epic videos👍

Its amazing to see how hacksmith went from one guy and some of his friends making small projects to him and a whole team making these huge projects.
The raise in quality in Hacksmith videos within just the last year is so apparent and WONDERFUL to watch!!!!!!!!!
This is insane! I've got to come check it out.
P.S. I could watch a whole video just on the galvanization process.
Well, with the brain rot that is of 2024, we can surely say that this is technically some galvanized square steel.
The amount of effort you guys put in is amazing, great job!
You guys rock!! 🔥⚒️ 💚 I always click immediately when I get a notification from this channel. Looking forward to next week’s video

This is probably the most impressive build you have done yet! And that is saying something because you have done so many impressive things!

Ah, yes, Record of Ragnarok Thor's hammer.
have u concidered filling the big hammer with tunxton and led to increace its destructive capabilitys
How much more crazy do you want it to get?
JAMES AND TEAM :YES
This should deserve way more views, this is now the heaviest and largest Thor's hammer!! The recommendation failed this video sadly, good video!
Great job been waiting for this vid for so long scared to see how you guys can get bigger than this
Only 100k?! I figured it would have been way more.

They should of made a actual hammer instead of just welded sheet metal with a pipe sticking out, probably would have been cheaper as well

I guess the biggest issue would be how to transport that 50 ton monstrosity. And they'd need a bigger crane.
They didn’t get use lead on big hammer they used over 4000 pounds of steel lol

You guys should make the master sword from the Legend of Zelda games
You should make a scientific ninja tool from Boruto that works
4444 lbs is equal to 2 metric tons btw.
It would be cool. If they made it that size. But instead of the inside heavy medal. Make the inside empty. To be used as a storage room. Like minecraft. Living inside thor hammer.
Imagine they filled it up with tungsten
Its hard enough to wield mjolnir but its even harder to weld it. All of you are worthy
I just watched the Thors hammer devastate everything in its way. It was strange how cartoonish it was. It smashing the giant nail was definitely my favorite shot🤩😅
I think like 40 tons is the weight
So, can you wield the hammer using the power loader? I want to see that!
