One of the suggestions for the next A/NPU for the 2nd Gen Steamdeck is can either drive the steamdeck & its display or run the Deckard Display with foviated rendering. So that when you play on a Deckard VR & Steamdeck together. The two APU's work together each APU handling the rendering for an eye, using a wide band radio interface to stream the data. I think MS best way to fight PlayStation is to not take them on directly, MS should release a genuine 'Next-Gen' console 2 years before PS6 (so very soon) and then another 3 years after so that it's clearly way faster than the PS6 but 5 years since the release of their last console.
They wouldn't do that,if something was coming soon we'd something of it XBox Next could be in 2026 ,even if MS doesn't seem to care about hardware because it doesn't sell.
Releasing another console 3 years after the next one,so basically it would be another XB One X or Pro. This would be more likely before the ABK purchase but not now.
No, just no. Sega tried that with Dreamcast. Ed Fries said almost 20 years ago that the next gen starts upstream with the silicon. MS went in hard with the 360 and launched a year earlier than the ps3 with the same 90nm process node.
Personally, I don't want an s/x situation next gen with Sony. I'd much prefer they just put out the pro at the same time for those who want the best eye candy, but that the base would be the standard and a typical generational uplift and not being underpowered and difficult to work with.

Paul, do you think it's possible that the 2 SoC's in development(given this is true) are simply 2 different specs/ideas they are trying to decide between and only 1 will get picked and developed for the PS6? If not, I hope it is for PSVR3 because I have been holding off purchasing VR specifically for PSVR3 to come out. VR I believe truly is the future of gaming, it's SO F*CKING INCREDIBLE!!! To literally transport yourself in the game itself is just mind boggling to me. I think VR capabilities have been held back because of the hardware needed to really make it special, but if it can connect and use the PS6 hardware directly I could imagine we'll finally be at the point where the VR game quality will match the game itself quality wise. It's so exciting to think about... ALSO the capabilities Sony is trying to push with smarter NPC's, water physics(this has been SEVERELY lacking for decades in video games), physics in general, special effects, etc. so we can finally get games that don't just look good graphically, but have all the life breathed into it as well to really immerse you and fill it with detail and complexity, it's very exciting to think about! I cannot wait!!!
AI and upscaling tech is really the only way to advance. I don't see the path going anywhere else. We've hit a point where gamers want more interaction and realism. If they can deliver a handheld that plays ps5 and ps4 games with some emulation of older systems, it would dominate the market. Apus in the works now are closing that gap. Strix point with 40cu's is scary.
AI needs A LOT of data to train. The only thing we’re going to get with this generation of AI rendering is flat walking simulators with minimal combat and interaction. Maybe some simple racing games.
They could absolutely make a handheld that could play PS5 games by leveraging framegen and lowering the quality settings a little but for whatever reason Sony has a VR hardon and just won't give that crap up. The rog Ally and steam deck already run current titles at reasonable framerates so there's no reason Sony can't do it except they just don't. Maybe Sony is still in the mindset a handheld needs its own physical media to go along with it but I bet the consumers would strongly disagree.

Both nextgen XBOX and PS6 better be leaps and bounds advance and finally deliver on the specs and promises!!!
@@H0DLTHED0R They both delivered on the promised specs. The boxes have the components they say they have. Sony and Microsoft make a box with the best stuff they can for the price. There are several games by both Sony and Microsoft that high quality well performing and great looking games. They do not control the resolution and frame rates that 3rd party games run at. If anything it's the 3rd party devs letting these systems and their customers down by not making the appropriate design choices and optimizations. There is no excuse for these games to take twice as long to make and come out a hot mess with super low resolutions and stuttering frame rates.
@@shredenvain7 if that was true and AMD gave MS and Sony what was promised then GOW SM2 Halo Forza Horizon etc would be 4k 60fps and they would be forced to use FSR which plague's every game that uses it with a faint but static haze over everything.
None of this is new tech. It means the cost of each apu should less.
Its this model that Sony may be copying.
If Sony and Microsoft indeed enter the handheld market, should the manufacturers of the Steam Deck, Rog Ally, Legion Go etc be worried?
@@BUPMY1Yes they will be decimated sales wise! Do they care i don't think so, they sell these handhelds at very high margins, sony on that other hand will take a loss if the target is mass market and recoup the cost with software.

The steam deck uses a Linux based system so Microsoft isn't getting their money and also so they maximize their profits from selling games in the steam store. Selling a steam deck at cost for them or maybe at a slight premium works because of that model. Sony would be much better off making a handheld that can leverage framegen to port their PS5 or PS6 games onto than a VR system that not enough people care about.

I think MS best way to fight PlayStation is to not take them on directly, MS should release a genuine 'Next-Gen' console 2 years before PS6 (so very soon) and then another 3 years after so that it's clearly way faster than the PS6 but 5 years since the release of their last console.
Wow! Sooooo smart!
Microsoft are losing money on every x they sell yes losing money is great sounds like a government run company
Personally, I don't want an s/x situation next gen with Sony. I'd much prefer they just put out the pro at the same time for those who want the best eye candy, but that the base would be the standard and a typical generational uplift and not being underpowered and difficult to work with.
If Sony make a move like Microsoft did whit the X n S then someone at Sony is living under a freaking rock 🤦🏽♂️

Not if they keep making development mistakes like concord and im a hardcore playstation fan listen to your audience
Come on now... we all know that handheld is going to be an always online subscription only streaming device.

Sony should start putting their games on Nintendo® hardware just like Microsoft is doing. Oh wait… they are… LEGO® Horizon Adventures™! 🤣
Nintendo® is doing better than Sony this generation, and when Nintendo Switch™ 2 releases, it will dominate indefinitely.
There already are Xbox titles on PS5, but why on Earth would Nintendo do that? They sell their consoles just fine, have plenty of games, and develop their games specifically for their own hardware, which also involves whichever console "gimmick" they are running for the hardware cycle, which is not replicable on any 3rd party, including PC. The only thing that could be better in doing so would be the graphics, but the gameplay experience would suffer.
