I set up at this show each month (except, December of this year I can't, but am almost always there). I'm typically in the "darker" half of the mall. Stop by. I am completely open to comps and will sell between 80-100% comps depending on the card. It's very time consuming to re-comp cards each month for a show when this is a hobby vs. full time job so never hesitate to ask someone to check a comp. If a dealer refuses, walk away! Yo frank! I know the people that work at the card shop, it’s called hit kings and it’s in Cincinnati. Owner sleeps in because he stays up till 11:00 helping customers out (including me)
As someone who is just starting out trying to find cards that I like, it can be a little uneasy seeing sticker price like that. However, at the end of the day, it's on the buyer to hold the seller accountable by checking comps and asking for the fair price and not sellers' price.
I think I saw you there, I was set up right by Kohls. That’s a really good show but I noticed the same thing you noticed… lots of people marking things way up. If you haven’t been to the Xenia Ohio show that’s well worth it as well. Good video
Most dealers price their cards high, not three times high, but high, so when they wiggle they aren't losing out on the back end. I can understand moderate higher prices, but you have to also understand some of these dealers have a lot into these cards, as well. It's been this way for decades, this isn't anything new.
If I buy from you often, hen I truly expect to receive better deals than one-time buyers. If I sell to you often, I don't need to be told to offer you better prices than others! It's like the mafia, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.

I was the guy that couldn’t sell the wembys for half off the sticker. This was actually my first show and being in a new job I didn’t want to start it off with selling cards for half off the sticker which I was told a coworker of mine comped them last night using card ladder. Also, I was confused I thought you were looking at 3 of the cracked ice wembys and you wanted to offer $70 for all three which was about 40% of the sticker. I comped them after the show and updated the prices also so if you’re still interested I’m happy to sell them and ship them to you. Sorry we couldn’t make a deal on the spot!

I wish they had more cards shows in my area. I'm in Rochester, MN. I would need to go to Minneapolis.

It's been this way for decades, this isn't anything new.
Every show has those dealers at 3-4x. I try to buy from fellow dealers but local shows have very few dealers prices around market.
