"In 1987, I walked Flavor Flav & Charlie Mac (Fresh Prince bodyguard) to the snack stand, doing the Def jam tour in Chattanooga Tennessee. I remember the people there, thought I was in Public Enemy, because the clock I wore, was thee exact clock, that flavor flavor was wearing, in 'Night of the living bass head video...this the order, of performers that night...1st Public Enemy, 2nd Eric.B & Rakim, 3rd Whodini, 4th Doug.E Fresh, 5th LL Cool j. That concert started at 7:00 p.m. at UTC arena. I got all my old concert tickets, from K.B presents LL Cool j & Whodini tour, Salt & Pepa Slammin Tour, Get Tuff presents Dope Jam 88 tour starring Kool Moe Dee, The just say No tour featuring MC Hammer, and Hip Hop Heritage Jam 1 featuring Goodie Mob"🤷🏾♂️
I thought I was a member of NWA as an 11 year old white boy from the VA Suburbs. I wore all Raiders gear, & would buy the exact same LA Kings, & Raiders hats that they wore (I had like 10 of them!!). My Mom took me to the $1 Movie Theater to see Boyz In the Hood when it came out, & I wore my NWA shirt (we were the only whites 😆). I loved PE, Ice Cube, Ice T, X Clan, EpMD… Chuck D’s lyrics are so poetic, & deep that I don’t think the average listener understands the references to black history, politics, Religion, & Black Nationalist groups… He’s a true living legend. I can’t believe that they don’t name him up there with Rakim, & Big Daddy Kane. Not only does he have that voice, but included so much food for thought. As much as they did to open the eyes of Black people, they opened the hearts, & minds of so many whites too… Chuck is my absolute Hero.
pure 1000 per fire not water but fire back then we were on the same page not saying killing was not going on but PE brought black people to gether period that how hip hop should be like
If I was at this show, I would died. The energy of their music is unmatched!!! I would have lost my mind. Top five Hip hop group of all time. PE is #1!!
Just the best - lucky enough to see PE play 3x and they absolutely rocked the house. Nation of Millions blew my 16yo mind wide open when it came out - the beats, rhymes and knowledge were like nothing else. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I have seen them live twice and they were awesome both times, the second was in a brewery's warehouse, one of the best live acts on the planet and everyone was there for free
This was it! I went to see Public Enemy, Eric B and Rakim and Oueen Latifah at the Apollo in the early 90s. I wonder if this is the same concert. If so please post the entire concert. Love it, Real Hip Hop, lyrics,,rhythm and delivery.
Still thee GOAT!!! One of the best stage shows ive ever seen! Shit like this don't happen every day! Unfortunately Hip Hop like this don't happen anymore 💔
Could not agree anymore, I would love to see this track live, I've seen PE loads of times but I have never heard them do this track. unfortunately I can't get it loud enough as it's quite a rough recording but 10 out of 10 for this cover. I love the Dre and snoop version but this smashed that track
This should have 1000's of comments and millions of views, i am shocked at how low the figures are. PE are the best band live of all time and genres. the deep cover tune was far superior to the Dre and snoop version, and I love the Dre and snoop original and was one of my favourite tracks of all time but when I heard this I nearly shot my load, fucking hip hop at its finest
He was kicking the lyric from "Hit the Road Jack" from GreatestMisses... but I think best tracks are "Tie Goes to the Runner" and "I Gotta Do What I Gotta Do"..Peace
I think what I love most about this is the fact that there is no DAT, it's all on Terminator X's Tech's. You can tell because of all of the record skips.
I noticed that too, it skipped a lot. A;; the beats came from Terminator and it looks like he has some beat machine up there too, but they were mostly rapping off of the actual records
lol on the finale "Can't Truss It" he's basically rapping out an entire movie with multiple scenes like Roots, still relevant today: Public Enemy - Can't Truss It (Official Music Video) ruclips.net/video/am9BqZ6eA5c/видео.html&t
U right, tripped us out of our momentum like they've always done and we still keep falling for their traps. Melanated peoples just need to flip the programming of their minds, body & soul...the miseducation. I learnt that a while back, but interestingly enough I still learn more practically everyday. Great point/observation u made.
@@lupo-femme Pac went backwards. He should have never indulged in gang activity. It was against everything he was taught. It cost him his life! Getting into fights when he had bodyguards.
Have they ever put out an uncut version of this without the dumb vhs-era edits, cuts & bits? Just the realness? It’s the best rap group of all the time and this is a lobotomy.
I was lucky enough to see PE in Miami back in the day my favorite all time Hip Hop group. Rakim the God Emcee is my favorite all time Emcee!! I saw him live back in the day as well!!!
Only because people were scared by what Chuck had to say. He brought so much knowledge that he scared white America and the sell outs. I leaned more from Chuck over the past 30 years than any single source.

The most important and concious Rap group in history

Truth!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
My white surban buzz cut Catholic ass is proud to be the 100th like for this comment.
Truth, as a Black woman named Lizzo once observed, hurts.
There is definitely in need of public enemy biopic there's so much that needs to be told into full theatrical movie
If I was at this show, I would died. The energy of their music is unmatched!!! I would have lost my mind. Top five Hip hop group of all time. PE is #1!!
I was there. It was dope. LONS and Gang Starr took the stage before them

Hip Hop at its finest. This is uplifting, educational, and empowering rap. That's what it's all about.
watching this only proves HipHop needs to hit the reset button. Legendary.
Still bringing the noise 2020 ...
Enough energy to power the planet for years.
The greatest rock n roll band of all time, never mind just the best hip hop crew. Nothing gets close to PE
they did do a song with anthrax
Do they play? Or is it just tapes?
Good to see Terminator X still on the 1's and 2's
Just the best - lucky enough to see PE play 3x and they absolutely rocked the house. Nation of Millions blew my 16yo mind wide open when it came out - the beats, rhymes and knowledge were like nothing else. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I got this on VHS 📼

The GREATEST intro in the history of the game! Hands down!!!

Between the actual show, Flav bringing his seeds out & the crowd holding the "Ooooh, yeeeah" chant to the end, this is that shyt!!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO

The most greatest live in hip hop history
I would love to see them live in concert in this time period, my axx will be just turnt up in the crowd 🔥🔥
Damn this takes me back. Seen at Glasgow barras in 89. Then last year with the wu tang and de la. Wasn't the same without flav.

DJaySplitSecond word, I remember reading somewhere that they had a sp1200 up there. Flav played it live sometimes
They all played live
great era.
Saw them when they was in the BRING THE NOISE TOUR in 1991 in Colorado on a school night. BONKERS.
22:45 tho. Chuck d rapping off that deep cover should have been a real track.
Facts
I've been waiting for that for the last 29 years.
