The bridge is 1,067 feet above the river bottom. Rumored to be the highest bridge of its type in the world. It was a cool project to watch when I was at home in Arizona, commuting to Vegas every day. The bottle is Miller Genuine Draft.

Guys, it was officially completed in 1936. I'm a dam fan...
Before 9/11, you could go into the dam wall and look out thru the grates on the face side. And go to the pipes that take the water in to the turbines.
    ❤Thanks for the update! ❤

You guys can not even imagine what Lake Mead looked like back when it was full pool. I lived there in the early 1980 to 1992 and the lake was massive. We would see storms at times like I experienced on Lake Michigan. And at a time when there was not cell phones and only marine radio it could get scarry at times. Thank goodness it only rained a few times ayear back then. It was a great experience to be able to be on that beautiful lake back then. Thanks guys for your dedication to this channel.

My first visit to Hoover Dam was in the late 1960's as a teenager while on family vacation. We'd left Kingman, AZ via Hwy 93 for Las Vegas and drove along this winding two-lane highway across the dam. So impressive and the water levels were at the top of dam. We parked, got out and walked, took photos and headed to Vegas. No "bathtub ring" visible at that time; the lake was at full capacity. As for the Javelina's, my first encounter with them was when I lived in Southwest Texas (Marfa/Alpine and Big Bend National Park ) area while hiking. My fellow hikers/friends told me they were just "wild pigs" and just ignore them. And I'm glad that we did based on what you've said they're capable of doing if they feel threatened! I enjoy your educational videos! Watching in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Peace ✌️! 👏💪🙏

Another great video, never get tired of seeing Lake Mead as you bring it to us for our enjoyment. It's still on my bucket list of places to see but as I'm 78 now there's a few more ahead 1st. One reason among many why I really enjoy your videos. Stay Safe Always & God Bless till next time.😉

I was able to visit the Hoover dam when the bridge was under construction. They were about halfway through and I was amazed by just how high it was from the top of the dam let alone from the base of the river below.
There were guys hanging in harnesses underneath the bridge doing what looked like welding work that day. Absolutely insane. I was always told growing up that a good welder is worth their weight in gold, but that day I believed it 100% because you couldn't offer me $10 million dollars to have done what looked like a beginners Cirque du Soleil class while holding a device that can melt steel.

My father and I use to fish lake Meade when we lived in Las Vegas back in the 1970's. Thank you for posting these videos. They bring back a lot of great memories of fishing with my father. Thank you.

Back in the '90's you could drive across the top of the Dam. After 9-11 they built the bridge so no vehicle bomb could damage it. It is essentially Hollow and there used to be Tours so you could see the 9'dia Penstocks that guide the water to turbines on the Turbine floor. One Bank powers Nevada, the other New Mexico.

Los Angeles Water & Power ran the dam until the late 1970's. I think the Bureau of Reclamation then, took it over. I worked on the water side of LADWP at that time, and they would send crews to the dam to get it ready for the transfer. I'm sure Los Angeles got a big portion of the generated power

Another excellent video, love the store of the dam, I have visited the dam before that bridge was built. It was nice to see that main lake, it amazes me to how deep this lake is. Nice to see the family out doing things together.

Great advice Senior. I can say I changed that cycle. Not having a dad that was always around I changed that for my boys and I love the relationship I have with them and they know they can talk to me about everything.

I think it would be cool to sail on that lake. Dunno how reliable the wind would be, though.
I'm guessing that bottle is an old Miller bottle. "Cold Filtered" has been an ad slogan of theirs for decades. Plus, that eagle over the shield cinches it.

I'm clean and sober hardly even drink alcohol. I want my kids to have the best I can give them ! I appreciate your guys connection! Inspiring!

Thanks for another wonderful video! Love seeing you guys out together enjoying your surroundings you're so blessed with! I live in the foothills of the Great Smokies here in South Carolina and we've got some beautiful lakes, rivers and streams where there's some wonderful fishing. Especially for mountain trout and bass. I think about all the places like where you guys live and think how cool it'd be to be near that but then I sit back and think..... I've got some pretty darn awesome landscape and natural resources right here in my own back yard! Til next time! 💙🙏🏼👊🏼
