When I listen to this song, It remind me of the ppl who I grew up with who ended where the previous generation used to do. Nothing changes in the hood except the ppl. The choice is your.
@computerhacksaw i will sample the first 12 seconds, but i will not do the rest ill just fuck around with it and turn it into a hip hopstumental and put up for free download on my next album. :]
@computerhacksaw Or if you want, I could loop the first 12 seconds, layer a more compressed but similarly toned kick and snare over it, boost some of the higher ends to make those lovely off-beat open hats even more crisp, and follow the main bassline with a more powerful sub oscillator, and maybe even subtly layer some sliced up drum break from another song to give the beat more flow. Then I could get some of my homies who are actual MCs and they'll lay down their poetic rhymes about real shit.
@VariantNode @computerhacksaw What I love about music of this style is people who actually know about music wrote the lyrics with time and care so the words could be the highlight of the song and not the beat. Lots of the more popular hip hop today hides the ignorance of the writer with catchy hooks, repetitive call and responses, and complex loud tracks in order to appeal to a generation that is increasingly getting dumber.
yeah, it's been done over and over....and that message still STINKS like 5 day old fish... when are "we" going to let go of these deluded, ignorant stereotypes and create something positive and new for a change? it's later than you think bruh ! peace & light
@computerhacksaw what are you trying to say anyway? sounds like you have an issue with hip hop- something gil helped pave the way for. there's actually no real point to what you said. you have just projected a heap of media-influenced stereotypes on something that you obviously don't understand and when you saw that people don't approve tried to cover it up by stating it was sarcasm.
I wore this album OUT ! Thanks Gil - for all the great music. RIP
Brother Gil music will only open your mind to the realities in the world if you are ready to hear and see. Peace be upon Brother Gil

@computerhacksaw Its a shame sarcasm doesn't have it's own font. Some idiot might actually think you meant it.
