You seem like a very nice and sweet lady. Great video. Basically confirmed I want to move to bend right as I was considering Denver Colorado. About to start my programming degree. Maybe I’ll buy a property from you one day! :) keep being awesome
Im from the east coast and traveled to bend on business last year. Bend and its outskirts is absolutely bueatiful. One thing i noticed is that everyone in the town is white. As a Puerto Rican raised on the east coast i felt like i was on another planet. Its a bueatiful place but i wouldve liked to see more diversity however i highly recommend anyone to go the nature is something else
well, I can't say you're wrong! It's a pretty white population, a little Hispanic and that's about it for "diversity". I think you'd be welcome here :-)
honest exchange is fine. But I don't allow "foul" language or abusive talk of any kind. Bend is not perfect, so of course there will be differing opinions. I'm OK with that.
Hi Brandi, if you'll text me your email, I will send you some info on schools, etc. Yes, we have thrift and resale clothing and outdoor gear stores. I can send that info too! Text your email to 541-728-4020. Thanks for watching!
it depends on many things, but if I use my standard of "nice" and for "affordable" I'll use no more than 33% of monthly income for rent. The average Single-family home rents for a minimum of $1,500 (you may luck out and find something rare for $1,000 - $1,200, but I wouldn't count on that). If that amount were 1/3 of your monthly income, you'd have to be earning $4,500/mo which is over $28/hr. So the answer really depends on what your earning ability is. So...I usually advise people to find a good job first, then find a place to live that fits your budget. Hope that helps! One more thing...cheaper rentals are the first to get rented so they are the hardest to find!
The median home price in Bend is $650,000!! You are not going to find anything to rent for $1000, we've been looking in this area for 4 months now and you're looking at $1800 and up, for a small place if you're lucky enough to find that.
My husband and I are living in California. Cali although beautiful has not been so kind to us from high fees for my husband to run his own Construction Buisness to high housing costs. So we are between Eugene and Bend but I think you got my vote!
Feel free to contact me directly if you want more info on what it's like relocating to Bend. We love it here and I enjoy helping others make the transition as smoothly as possible.
Hi Cear, thanks for your comment! bit.ly/Bend-Shopping Above is a link to all of the "major" shopping malls in Bend. Can you be more specific on what you consider is a "bigger mall"? Are you looking for a specific store or item? Other than Bend, I'd say the next largest shopping area would be Salem area, which is over the mountain pass, about 2.5 hrs (when roads are clear of snow)...here's a link to their shopping options: www.travelsalem.com/listings/things-to-do/shopping/malls-and-outlets. Hope that helps! contact me directly if you have any other questions...noras@bhhsnw.com
Thank you so much! I was just wondering because I have been looking into bend. I would like to move to a pretty rural place but still have places to shop or go out to. What I meant by bigger mall was kind of a large mall with lots off things, not just like a small shopping center.
Bend is amazing! I thought I might miss "bigger" shopping, but actually...I just shop less, lol! Good for my budget and I don't miss it. I like to support all of the great smaller local stores in Bend! If you want to look at homes and not be bugged by anyone...feel free to use my website www.noralovesbendhomes.com or call/text anytime w/ questions.
@@NoraLovesBendHomesI'm here in ely and I was just thinking how nice it was last summer which flu by like a day dream and now I feel like I'm in Alaska or something

Hi again Roy, not sure where you currently live or how long until you can retire, but if you go here... bhhsnw.findbuyers.com/noras you'll get a Home Value Report and at least you'll have an idea of what your home is worth today. It works no matter where you live.

You are very well-spoken Nora! Thanks for the information. When I am older I want to move to Bend :)
Thank you Parker! Maybe you vacation here in the meantime😁
Nora Spangler yeah that would be cool 👍🏻
You said negative comments will be deleted. If people can't talk about the good and bad of living in Bend, how can you have an honest exchange?

Trader joes sells boxed foods, how about whole foods or natural stores to buy truly fresh produce? I am considering Bend too.
Yes! We have Whole foods and Market of Choice, farmer's market in the summer😁👍❤️
How are the public schools, activities, and life for middle income families? Also, I'm big on resale. Is there a good thrift culture?

You're better off to look out of Bend, like LaPine, Redmond, Prineville, Madras, Culver, Metolius, they're all within 45 miles or less from Bend.
I've heard housing prices are very high in Bend. How easy is it for a single person to find a nice, affordable rental house (not apt.)?

Are Oregonians nice with foreigners?
Hi Cristian, well...some are some are not. If you love it here, come and make it home!
Do you know how long the closest bigger mall is away from bend?
Hi Cear,
thanks for your comment!
