My 2020 XDS with the accessory pack to include wheels and different bars, combined with the Termi and upmap, made it a whole new beast and it’s always the center of attention whenever I take it out.
I once accidentally rode over a hump back bridge with too much speed on my XDiavel. I was riding with a group and was not paying enough attention to the warning sign but instead watching the rider some way behind me. I took off with both wheels and I was actually standing on the forwards footrests with my head in front of the bars to try and maintain control. I landed straight and true fortunately , but it scared the life out of me. It was a lesson in group riding that I will not forget.
There is a gear indicator on the display and can have the key in your pocket when starting. There is no center stand so you will need a paddock stand. There are links available on our website MotorcycleAuthority.net Thanks for asking. I’m sure others want to know as well. What are you riding now?
Thanks for the video, that dolly looks great might get one. I have a XDiavel S 2018 - Ducati notorious for fuel gauge going faulty, it has happened to mine and only done 2200 miles. Any issues with yours?
@@michaeltelemachus5112 yeah mine has had rear brake issues, they dont do anything. I took it in for a service and they managed to sort it out. The guy at the desk said if the brakes stop working again Ducati will do a goodwill gesture and replace the brake lines as its quite common.
Really awesome bike. I rode it today. But slightly overpriced, definitely. But where have you said, that those position for your feet is not original? My testride had its feet-poles "far in the front" (for me as normal naked rider).
They come forward but can be moved to the mid or rear position. Mine had the mids for some reason when I bought it. I must have said it wrong. Thanks for the comment to correct the error. I hope you enjoy it. Yes, they are pricey and the dealer service is too.
Three years now, I have only changed oil and brakes pads. However, there was a recall competed to fix the rear brakes that keep needing to be bled and the key fob was also fixed on a recall. After that, no problems. Also, the tires were replaced. The tires don’t last long on these high traction tires. My Audi is the same way, grabs the road well but soft and wear quickly.
@Blue Shorts TV I had an issue like that and the dealer was able to take out the sponge brake feel to it. That was when they replaced the brake lines under warranty/recall. I am surprised that is still an issue on the 2022. Let me know how that turns out.
All my other bikes have forward controls so it’s a nice change. To me it feels more like a sport bike with the mids. However, if it was my only bike and I used it for longer rides, I may stay with the forwards.
Hi, I'm 40 and about to get my motorcycle license next week. As a new rider I've been thinking of getting a Yamaha R3 or MT03 as a beginner bike but the more I see this Ducati the more I like it. Do you think is ok for a 40 year old safety focused guy to get a Ducati Diavel or should I start with the Yamaha? Nice video!
The riding positions are quite different on the Yamaha R3 and the Ducati XDiaviel. Both are a lot of bike for a beginner. Ideally, I rider should start with a lower performance bike. However, the Ducati XDiavel has riding modes that can reduce power. Also those adjust quite a bit as well. More importantly the XDiaviel has sensors that control the angle of the front end to keep the front tire on the ground with quick acceleration. I would sit on several bikes before making a decision.
Mr. Max might be a tick faster but it’s a ugly, heavy, high seated pig compared to the supremely designed, gorgeous, exotic Duc. No contest. Most fun you can have on the street with two wheels period. But respect the throttle, y’all crazy boys!😊
@@MotorcycleAuthority Hi, the fastest I have gone is 138 it could have gone more but it really starts to struggle at those speeds with wind resistance. But didn't buy it to lose my licence as come from sports bikes that could have done that way too easily. All the fun on these are with the torque and slower speeds. Beautiful bikes.
I felt the same way. There is plenty of power but the naked bikes just can’t handle the wind. It sounds like you knew that going into the purchase just like I did. We didn’t buy it for top end speed.
Best XDS review ever. Balanced and unbiased
Thanks, we put an effort into showing both the positive as well as the negative. Glad you enjoyed!

Nice! What kind of bars do you have?
@@MotorcycleAuthority The Ducati accessory pack for the XDS includes bars that are a few inches forward and slightly flatter. Much improved.

Wow, that was an experience. It gave me a scare just reading. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video. Oh yes I want a one.
Thanks! Go out and get one 😀
sweeeet ride ! just subbed.
Thanks, Welcome to our channel!
With the termi exhaust do you find yourself getting headaches from the louder noise? Or do you were ear plugs?
It has not been a problem when I ride. But, some may prefer a lower noise exhaust and I can understand that.
Is there a gear indicator on the dash? Is there a center stand? How about keyless ignition? I can't find this info on Duc's website. Thanks!

I have not had that issue. The rear brake lines and Key Remote were replaced under a recall. After that, it has been great.
I had to have a new sender fitted to my tank. The rear brakes have issues also.

Who else mutes and checks out the comments whenever the ads play !?
I have been guilty of that a time or two. It depends on how good the ad is, lol
Not me, RUclips premium is key lol
I pay for no commercials. Well worth it.
Good video 👍🏼
Thanks!

Curious about the reliability of this bike. How long have you had it?

How do you like the midcontrols? I really want to swap mine. But its an expensive mod. Does it feel cramped?

What dolly are you using for your diavel
Scroll down in the description and there is a link.
Also check Harbor Freight, if there is one near you.
Is it that the Diavel or the XDiavel?
XDiavel

Is this bike good for tall people?
My friend rode it that is 6’3” no problems. Taller than that I’m not sure.

I have to agree 😃
Ugly is in the eye of the beholder but the Diavel is anything than exoti lol
Top speed is listed as 150mph and they have 4 valve heads
Thanks for the clarification. Have you taken it to 150?

It's my dream bike 😭😭😭😭😭
But I can not afford to buy it
When I grew up I definitely buy this beauty
