What can I do when the pain only appears in my patient at night or when cross sitting? I’ve given them tips as how not to adduct too much while sleeping but it has not helped with the pain, any advice? Thx
In the comments below I wrote that a cortisone shot had helped me. Unfortunately several months on I'm worse than ever. Initially I had pain on walking, on sit to stand and on lying on the affected side. Now add to that pain on climbing stairs! This started after I had been doing the step exercise (bad leg on the step, good leg stepping up and down). I was recently advised to rest for 2 weeks before starting the belt exercise (seated doing 5 repetitions holding for 45 seconds twice a day). I tried it for four days but was then getting pain going down stairs as well as up so I've stopped. It's scary - I could run up and down the stairs and walk for several miles without pain a year ago! Is any of this physio treatment realistic for a female aged 69??
On point as usual
Thank you so much!

Yes absolutely, have a look at egg crate mattress toppers if you wish (Google)
Tell them to get a steroid injection. This cured my night pain straight away.

What is hip abduction exacerbates pain? My pain worsens if I go into external rotation sitting at a 90 degree hip angle
Hi! I would certainly recommend getting formally assessed so that you can look at things in better detail 🙏🏼
what is abduction ? Does it mean to hold your behind backwards ?

Thank you!
