I noticed my scalp is more sensitive too after getting my microlocs 😩 but wanting something different has led me here. Your braids turned out great!
Thank you for checking me out. I think they are sustainable just make sure your BRAIDER is light handed.
I thought it was just me!!! My scalp is sensitive as hell!!
So glad to see someone do this!! I’ve been thinking about it but was too scared to try, thanks for posting❤️
Your so very welcome! Let me know how your braids turn out….. thank you for watching! 💜💜
I love it!!!! The transparency of trial and error!!!😍
Right!!!! To know better is to do better!
I just never knew it was possible!! You learned me something new today😂
The versatility right!
I noticed that when my locs were small my scalp would be really sensitive. But now that they are grown out it does not hurt as bad. Also, I wait at least a week before I put my hair in braids. When my hair is not tight it really hurts; but, when they are freshly tightened they hurt even worse. So just remember to wait.
Absolutely truth! I can’t do too much tension at all! But I really appreciate the advice!
SO glad i watched until the end, lol! thank you for posting this, i have confirmed that i won’t be getting boho braids over my locs😂
Very glad I was able to help!
Thank you for showing me is possible ❤️
Absolutely!!! We still like a little versatility with our locs!
Yes, my scalp is very tender since having microlocs. I can barely stand a loose bun for more than a couple hours. Baby girl did do an awesome job, though.
I literally had two ponytail in yesterday and after about 2 hours I had to take them down! I use a loc to wrap the ponytail to have less tension but oh my goodness that was no help!
These are beautiful! I was told it’s not recommended to keep these in too long
Thank you very much! My 10 days stint was all I could forgo! 😂
I experienced the same. I braided my own hair and lasted 2 days! Never again. My scalp was so sore! Again, I braided my OWN hair so you know I didn't purposely tightened them.
Facts! This is so true! My scalp is so sensitive now! Even the “loose” braids cause me problems…I overstand you!!!
You can do cornrow braids then crochet in pixi locs. They will match your actual locs and parting grid
That’s a good point!!!
I just wanted to say that since shaving my hair any added style other than my natural fro aches. I believe it's because we go so long after not pulling on it that it gets used to being in its natural state. I can't have too many braids and all must be knotless.
Btw I was super excited to see this, so creative and beautiful too bad for your scalp though! Nothing beats feeling the water through that head. God Bless Lovely Ladies
I can understand and agree with you on the sensitivity of our natural hair/ scalp! I really loved the braids and dislike having to take them down so quickly…. Thank you for your honest review.,,
My scalp looked exactly like yours after braiding with my microlocs 😂 I lasted about 10 days with the braids and took them out real quick. My scalp was so sensitive as well
Absolutely!!! I now love tension free styles! That pain ain’t no joke!
I tried crochet faux locs and I instantly took them out that same night. I do want to try twist on my microlocs I have so much new growth that I'm like okkkk let's try it
That may work! But I tell ya my scalp is just super sensitive and any tension sends it into a frenzy! I hope it works out for you to get some good wear time! I personally want to try the bohemian braids! But idk
That hot water 😂😂😂
I know right
My scalp is more sensitive too and way drier than when I was a loose natural. I want to try braids this summer tho.
That is definitely two big things I noticed having locs.
I would wait until I have more new growth before doing box braids. Probably right when it’s time to get a retwist
Yes you’re right! I’ve since learned!!!
My experience was the same smh, I love my locs, i enjoy switching them up but the braids were a NO Go!! now i had some success once but they were not close to the root more boho looking and i kept those in for 3weeks
That sounds like what I needed to do! Plus I think my retie was fresh, so what a no no!
I did passion twist over mine and I realized that i have to make the roots loose meaning I can’t grip them like regular loose hair because it would be too tight and my scalp would be too sore
Did your passion twist tangle in your locs?
@@winedownwithleetheemua no I plaited my hair first and crocheted through the base then twist it all down
I have braids over mind but my trick is wait til it's time to retighten it but instead I do my braids before i retighten..
Great advice… I did try again a week before but my scalp was not having it! So sad!!! Maybe I’ll try another style
Yeah like what is that my scalp sensitive to the touch since I’ve been fully natural that’s why I got my micro locs
My scalp is super sensitive
so how many locs did she use to braid the section?
You know I’m not certain how many she used! I’m sorry… if I had to guess I’d say maybe 6-7
Could it have been too sensitive because (it looked like) your hair was freshly retied before plaiting? xx
Your right….It could have been…. I won’t make that mistake again tho
How long after getting micro locs can install braids ?
I did mine at 3-4 months I think
@@winedownwithleetheemua thank you for your reply
My pleasure
What happened to your hair in Jamaica? I can't find it!
Ohhh check this out…ruclips.net/video/G4uW6cqAuWw/видео.htmlsi=3APvkWUa2gPEOQkM
I have had microlocks for 3 years now... my scalp has been more sensitive from the start. I almost lost a lock from braiding with extension
Nooooo we don’t want to loose locs! But this scalp sensitivity is no joke! I hope you at least enjoyed your extensions while they were in?
@@winedownwithleetheemua yeah, they looked good. But I have not had extension in for the past 2 years. The experience was so bad. I am considering trying knotless braids with Brazilian wool, it's much lighter than regular extentions.
@@skor001 hmmmm I’d be curious to see what that looks like for sure!
It's best to continue your NATURAL; However it wouldn't hurt in considering (Palm rolling) 2-3 loc's together over your entire CROWN, with less frequent scalp activity.
Giving your Crown IT'S Needed; Natural Loc's an opportunity to set, in 1-3 months whichever comes first, you occasionally give your scalp (massages only) with Jamaican black castor oil, hibiscus flowers or your choice of curly moisturizing cream!
LEAVE IT BE TO {LOC in its NATURAL CURL} MAT!
After it's locked; here is where you begin your grooming, most likely you will appreciate better, so will your scalp, No 300+ Sisterloc's just Natural gorgeous small Loc's...
💜💜💜💜😘🥰
If i keep tge braid in to long the locs with matt together
I’m glad I didn’t keep it that long
@@winedownwithleetheemua How long is too long?
I only managed 10 days, If you try the typical two months of braids you may find matting start to take place.
