Can we get 6mo and 12mo updates on the veriegated adansonii? I honestly cannot image how chemically induced variegation would be stable, but I'm curious! Congrats on the new free plants and thanks for the most calming and fun plant videos, as per usual :)
chemically-induced variegation ISN'T stable 😬 usually buyers who sell chemically-induced variegation rely on the ignorance of buyers who think that the variegation is permanent when it is NOT. i'd only consider it being permanent if this was a freak accident (not commonplace) where one plant retained its variegation (through a mutation in the DNA caused by the chemicals) and all subsequent plants ate just clones of that one plant.
@@coagulatedsalts4711 that's why I was asking for the update.... the video seemed like the new leaves were coming in variegated which isn't something that chemically-induced variegation can do so...... ??ya feel??
I love the fact that you treat them as normal houseplants! Sometimes I see the extent that other plant influencers go and I can’t help but wonder if it’s really necessary??? Sometimes it seems outright unsustainable
Hi Emanuel, thanks so much for watching!!🥰 I agree that sometimes all the extra plant care seems like a lot but it does work haha! I used to use a grow tent before I started my channel and my plants in there definitely grew so fast and thicc while I was doing a good job maintaining the tent...but now i’m willing to trade super fast hearty growth for easier more normal plant care. I feel kinda guilty about it sometimes so I’m glad to hear you like seeing me treat the rarer plants more normally😊 cheers! 💜🌱✨
@@reallybigplant yes of course it works, I’m just not willing to buy 10 different soil amendments, have a growlight always on or seclude al my plants in a tent where I can’t see them. From my understanding of pariso verde, the varigation is stable so long as the plant has good growing conditions! So when the plant is shocked (cut, suddenly lower light) it will revert but as soon as its growing comfortably (good light, warm, fertilizer) the varigation will return. This is my understanding right now, I am growing out my own baby pariso verde!
Wow... I had no idea you could mail plants like that! You know, bare roots? I know there was moss or something wrapped around the roots but I had thought a plant would die if it was taken out of the ground?? Especially if it was traveling for a few days in a box? Makes me feel a tad hopeful that the plants I had transplanted yesterday might actually survive as they were out of the soil for like 30 minutes? I mean I never done that before so it made me feel uneasy and uncertain.. But if those plants survived being in a box for DAYS!! As you can guess I am kind of new to plants. I feel like leaving on sad leaves is probably also like leaving on a scab, the plant might “bleed” moisture a bit more if you don’t allow it to dry out that leaf on its own :)
Can’t wait to see updates. There’s some plants that I would love to own but won’t because of the high humidity requirements, but there’s some people just using a enclosed cabinet have plenty of humidity, without using a humidifier.
From what I've heard about the Paraiso Verde, the variegation is stable but it needs to be BLASTED with light to really give you the beautiful variegation. Some sources have also mentioned temperature but most of the time I hear light is most important!

Very nice plants and it’s a whole process totally free for you or do you have to pay the customs and In import certificate fee and if so what was the cost.
The variegation on the parasio verde does look like spider mite damage sometimes. 🤷♀️ I find that the variegation gets better in the new leaves under light.
Omggg I had a syngonium maria allusion once and I put it outside only for it get mealybugs and I had to throw it out 🥲 ALSO OMGGGG I’VE BEEN WANTING A VARIEGATED GIGANTEUM! That’s so beautiful!
Im confused about the adansonii. Isn't there a big difference between chemically induced variegation and tissue culturing to produce stable variegation? Did they TC a variegated plant or create the variegation with chemicals?

If I was wanting a variegated adansonii I wouldn't have an issue with getting a treated one. All the plants look great and I look forward to seeing updates on them.
I know I’m commenting two months later and you’ve probably figured this out already but Paraiso Verde does NOT revert! They like extremely bright light and warm temps to get higher variegation

The communications was good and they offered to replace two of them. I feel like influencers get nicer packages and plants than the average joe but that my opinion.
As a novice collector I’m currently in the midst of my first thrips outbreak and I just found eggs in my Syngonium Maria’s soil 🤢🤢 It’s also literally the only Syngonium that I own (well, owned.. I just tossed it unfortunately 😢)
I thought thrips were hard to get rid of but they are actually the easiest pest I have gotten rid of apart from aphids. I use Bonide systemic granules (bought mine from amazon). You sprinkle a little in the soil and literally within a few days all thrips were gone. Hope this helps. Spider mites are the worst I've ever dealt with (I use beneficial insects for those a-holes). They really just don't go away....
@@meowk5812 thanks for the tip!! I’ll have to hunt around for systemic granules because I’m not seeing them on Amazon (maybe because I’m in Canada?) but I just ordered some diatomaceous earth so hopefully that helps too 🤞
@@bnelleyram I've heard from other channels that systemic granules are not available in Canada because they may harm the bee population (I am located in the US). In this case you may want to try insecticidal soap to clean off the leaves and/or beneficial insects.
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with thrips!! It’s sadly probably for the best that you tossed your infested syngonium 🥲 Thrips can be tough to treat without a systemic, I did not realize that product wasn’t available in canada! 🤯 Thanks for having this discussion here! If you’re able to find something like captain jacks deadbug that could be a good option, but if not, washing and treating the leaves with insecticidal soap or neem oil every time you water is a good idea to do for a few weeks. best of luck!!💪🌱 and thanks so much for watching 🥰💜

@@meowk5812 good to know, thanks 😊
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with thrips!! It’s sadly probably for the best that you tossed your infested syngonium 🥲 Thrips can be tough to treat without a systemic, I did not realize that product wasn’t available in canada! 🤯 Thanks for having this discussion here!
If you’re able to find something like captain jacks deadbug that could be a good option, but if not, washing and treating the leaves with insecticidal soap or neem oil every time you water is a good idea to do for a few weeks. best of luck!!💪🌱 and thanks so much for watching 🥰💜
put the melano on a board to climb
I don't understand, when you ask DHL or FedEx, they always say that they can't and don't ship any live plants even with documents but why most of the unboxing videos here in RUclips about plants were all shipped by DHL or FedEx??
I was more excited seeing your fluff ball of a dog than the plants 😂. Plants are amazing but dogo 10xs more
Uh yeah. There’s a place where I live that has one of those monstera for $1050 and another one for $8500. Such a joke.
not you just in general

You always talk to much and take tooooo long to open. I get tired and stop watching.
