But, only another workaholic can tolerate a workaholic spouse (if there's any desire to have a functional marriage). My own parents married for love, but I often wasn't sure where they were at any given time, other than on a business trip. I appreciate the commitment and drive, but from experience, their family is unquestionably suffering for it. As a child of high earning workaholics that traveled a lot, I can say that it wasn't awful (I'm not complaining), but I wouldn't choose to raise a family like that. At least not with kids so young.
