Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. After I went to bed the comments/attacks continued from the other party. Including accusations of being disgraceful and immature for calling out their behaviour and said it was name calling and that I am not qualified to "diagnose" them; even though calling out the behaviour is not a diagnosis. Blaming me for creating a boundary for my own protection against their toxicity due to "having a hard time in life," and being glad I'm focusing "on your mental health!!" The irony.
Making their behaviour my problem and assuming, as narcissists do, that I should know all about their life, their thoughts, their opinions, their health issues, etc. Making this all about me (my problems) instead of them. Yes, I will be detoxing from the toxicity.
And although the person kept saying they wanted nothing more to do with me, the wave of comments kept coming. It was validation that I made the right decision.
This has been a long going issue, but it just flared up yesterday with the manipulation of telling me what I should focus on, what I say or not say, bsically trying to control me and my channel. It was the proverbial final straw.
After discussing it with my husband, and of course Prometheus, because we do this channel together, the consensus was made.
Narcissists do NOT like being called out, but it had to be done. It was not an easy decision. There's always blowback.
Our mental health is important, not to be mocked or belittled.
Know your boundaries and don't be afraid to set them. Don't be kowtowed to bend them to appease them either. The best boundary is separation. Many children of narcissist parents are aware of this. (this last part is as much for me as anyone else that can relate).

I wish I missed the drama! LOL But it was directed at me specifically and it was the breaking point. I'm glad you don't have to deal with this. It boils down to mental abuse. It is toxic and I wouldn't want anyone to experience it.

Thank you Courtney. After some prayer, discussion and some good sleep, I don't think it was the video. Based on the history of this person I'm 98% confident it was them making everything about them and then making me apologize for their hurt feelings. It isn't the first time, but it's the last. I should have put a disclaimer on the video that it wasn't about anyone in particular, certainly not about a content creator. smh, my lesson is learned. ugh, I know what people leave booktube. The atmosphere can be pretty toxic.

Ive been away from the Booktubes, I can see that it hasn't changed. Every once in a while i think about making a comeback and then remember the drama, gatekeeping, and the rude comments and think yeah... no... I'm good.

Oh i've missed you! I don't blame you though. It just takes one bad apple, but my son doesn't want to stop the channel. So, I've learned a lesson and next time won't be as patient with certain people who constantly contradict themselves.
I can't imagine your channel getting drame or gatekeeping. Rude comments are bound to happen. For some reason people think of the internet like they're in a car, you know "that" driver. LOL

Yeah, we got more snow, which is mostly melted, but now the cold temps are biting cold. I hope you're doing well. Aren't you getting a massive hit from the polar vortex coming down from Canada? Our worst winter was Feb 2021, as long as we don't have a repeat of that, we're good.

There is one gatekeeper in particular that I associate with this area of booktube who has a cult following and says really disturbing things that his followers ignore. If you call them out on it, they cry and their little followers pounce. And its not like you can just pretend they dont exist because so many creators talk about them and they force their way into every event so if you want to partake your associated with this person by proxy. Kind of sucked a lot of the fun out of it for me.
To be honest the rude comments never have bothered me. Its more the annoyance of having to go delete their comment and block them.
It got really cold for like 2 days. We usually get a couple weeks of sub zero weather but so far have been really lucky. We missed out of the big snow storm from a couple weeks ago. It tickled us with the tippity top but basically got a dusting.
School is good, i graduate at the end of this year. Every ounce of my free time is studying for and obtaining certifications. The one im working on now is 2 90 minute tests that will take about 150-200 hour to prepare for. It is an inch deep and a mile long. Got to know a little about a lot. It really sucks 😂.

I'll ask someone a question and they'll respond with, "well so and so said." But I'm not asking so and so, I'm asking you. I want to tell them to think for themselves. It's so frustrating. I didn’t post any hates comments. I hope you are surviving the weather. It’s bone chilly here down to 10 degrees tonight. I don’t know what the wind chill is!! They were showing snow in Pensacola. I have started the Panama Canal book but I am thinking of dnf ing it. I am having difficulty making myself continue.
Oh Vickie, no, you didn't offend me. I hope I didn't offend you in my other video. This video was because someone assumed I was talking about them and someone else I don't know who. Ranting about them in the No Excuses video. I was trying to be inspirational/motivational, but this person took it personally. This person often inserts themselves in a lot of what I say in videos and twists my words, when they're not even on my mind. It's a narcissistic trait. Because they told me what I should or shouldn't be doing, it was the final straw. I was aware of the behavior, but tolerated it because it wasn't directly attacking me, until today. And this person is apparently the spokesperson for themselves and whoever this other person is. 🤷♀️
I agree, if there's something people don't like they can certainly unsub, (which this person has done), but even constructive criticism or a simple quesiton, "were you talking about me?" And I could told them, "no, absolutely not. please don't think that." But that's not how narcissists operate.
How does one take advantage of a food pantry? Don't people have to be on welfare, and prove it, to receive food from them?
Oh yes! It is super frigid here. Are you safe? And your dogs too? We're expecting negative temps in the early morning. Do you have to run your faucet? We've had to have the heater on all night for three nights in a row, and drip a couple of faucets so we don't have any burst pipes. I am dreading the electric bill and the water bill next month. Oh wow, I hadn't heard that it snowed in Pensacola. Did Tampa get snow too? It has snowed in Tampa before. I think it was in the 1970's.
There are parts in the Panama Canal book I'm enjoying, but not all of it. It's to be expected though. I'm a firm believer in dnf'ing books you're not enjoying, but I also don't want you to think I'm suggesting it because I'm no longer reading along. I've finished most of the book and it gets better. Maybe skip ahead and skim and find a section you'd be intested in? Life it too short to read books you're not liking, or feeling like reading is a chore.

My dogs are both laying on my bed. I am gonna hate the heat and water bill here. But I don’t want the pipes to freeze. I’ve had that happen in another house and it was a mess. I just saw Panama City had snow so Tampa probably does too but I haven’t seen it mentioned. I am gonna skim ahead to see if the book gets better. If not I have no problem dnfing it. She was going to multiple food pantries and hoarding food. She had 3 chest freezers and a spare room full of food. It was just her in her household. I don’t think you have to be on welfare, you just go. I think some have an income limit and some just serve seniors.
I'm so glad my long response went through. Last night it was showing it didn't go through and it just vanished. It was so late, I had to go to bed.

oh my goodness. The food pantry is not set up for people to prep! She's not aware she's stolen food from families who have children? oh my goodness. Some people have no morals. I was curious about how to get food from the food pantry, because I was pretty sure people were checked. And sure enough the one in my local town anyone wanting food must show: a valid ID or DL, ID for each person (I don't know how that's possible for children), a current bill or lease of their rental, and proof of their income. That's serious.
