Thanks for tuning in to my lesson of "Space Oddity" by David Bowie! Be sure to subscribe to my channel to keep up to date on new episodes of the Riff Rundown! As always, I wish you much success in your guitar playing journey!
Angela. I missed your live session by several months, but wouldn't have been able to follow you through this song before today anyway. Incredible breakdown of a truly genius Bowie classic, one I've been singing in my head since 1969. That said, there is one aspect of this that I think would improve your video. That is, chord placement in line with the lyrics. Some teachers accomplish this by singing the song, others by scrolling the chords and lyrics. Even without this, a wonderful presentation. Thank You!
Angela, I love your enthusiasm, your energy level & your excitement for music & teaching!! I thoroughly enjoy your lessons... Thank you for all of it.!!
I can’t believe I missed this one, I have been fighting with this for about a year and your first 12 minutes changed everything, Thank you your awesome 😎
Wow these songs are great for learning on acoustic. I was always into metal with power chords and scales for soloing and neglected get full chords and nice strumming techniques. You’re lessons are great for this, thanks
Hi Angela, I couldn't play this version 2 years ago but going back to it now it's much easier as with anything else practice, practice , practice ! The little pinkie invited to this partie !!! Tom in Ireland 🇮🇪.. thanks...

David Bowie with Angela Petrilli! The one day I miss you 'live' and you teach one of my favorite songs. I just love watching your joy and enthusiasm while you are laying down the play through for the lesson. Wish you didn't have to worry about RUclips police and could sing along. I enjoy being with you live, but am so grateful for the recording so I can go back and forth in my own time. Happy March! April showers are right around the corner. Oh, I forgot, it never rains in Southern California. 😇🙏❤🤘🍾🥂
Hi, Cedar Park here, I started acoustic guitar lessons in December at Austin Music with David there and I have a Fender DG-8S. I'm having a blast learning new things like this! :-)
Hey Angela - I love your passion and teaching. I look forward to each session. I have a Taylor 224ce-K DLX that I bought mainly for looks. I’ve since pimped it up by buying a Thalia capo that matches the guitar, Thalia expressions rings, and brass bridge pins.
Your smile is so good its difficult to concentrate. But very cheery in this worlds dark times , good job on the teaching, make it fun for us older but keen types .
I'm Australian and love anything coming out of the maton factory with Australian woods, I got a maton 12 string back when I was fanatical about learning John Buttlers Ocean song.
Hi Angela! My name is Fourie Ferreira from South Africa. My favorite guitar would be a Martin (best sounding acoustic - my opinion), second, a Tailor. I can't afford either of the two though. I have learnt a couple of lessons from you. Thank you for your brilliant personality.
My dream guitar? Taylor Builder's Edition K24ce. The koa is beautiful and it sounds amazing. The inlays are soooo pretty and the mother of pearl logo is a nice touch.
Hi angela your are a amazing spirit and personality and a pleasure for the eyes and ears your charisma is off the charts and playing and teaching guitar is absolutely your calling thank you very much for doing what you do for the guitar world bless you!
On the tricky am/g maybe u could remove your finger on the A 3rd string to place on the G. U will still have A 5th string and another G being the open 3rd string. Sounds OK to me and much easier. Great lesson with all the detail.
I'm not much of a Bowie fan really. I do like him, but I've never followed him. I have this album because a fellow music lover gave it to me as a favorite that she wanted to share. No denying it is quality music, just not my normal fare. But man does this sound great coming from a guitar in my hands, even if I suck. Great lesson!
Scranton------1978 Yamaha FG336SB...I found one in a shop set up lefty with high action that everyone snickered at. I traded for it and set it back up righty realizing the truss was turned due to E high and E Low being different diameters. It came back factory minty with perfect action.. Even have Taylor and Martin but neither have this sound. Was Yamaha's answer to Gibson Hummingbird back then,if you see one minty Pounce!!!! SB= SUNBURST
Angela Angle, were have you been? I would have been more enthusiastic threw my life if I had been able too have a teacher like you xoxoxoxo keep on being you ❤ 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎸🎸🎸
