Tarantino did Bruce dirty in a completely erroneous portrayal of Bruce Lee. However It is also known Bruce Lee had a short fuse and temper. His mind went to "fight" thinking before make peace and walk away thinking. He admitted it himself. It made for him becoming a great martial artist but he was never winning a peace prize. I have a feeling a few stuntmen would start shit and Bruce would finish it quickly putting them back in their place. Is that cocky or just showing someone who's the boss?

I used to like Tarantino until he became this smug Hollywood Elitist. By almost all accounts all the stuntmen loved and admired Bruce in set and he looked after them…complete contrast to what Tarantino tried to portray him as in once upon a time.

Also he always says positive things about Bruce Lee . His interviews are on RUclips . He's one of the few that never says anything negative about Bruce . Also i never heard anything negative from you on your podcast either . I bow to you for your respect to Bruce Lee . Thank You , Bill D

I’m sure that your teacher is a very honest guy, however, that doesn’t mean that everything he says is factually true. My information about this time is from my good friend the late Sifu Chan Chee Man, private student (and Si-Hing of Bruce Lee) in Hong Kong. It’s a much more direct source than yours. Also, what asserted is at odds with many of the other students of Yip Man. The reasons why the old man did not teach Bruce have nothing to do with him being a “street fighter“. The assertion that the old man didn’t like “street fighters“ when he needed them to build the reputation for his school is a bit silly.

Bruce knew his worth, but wasn't a braggart. It's everyone else who claimed how good he was he didn't blow own trumpet.
The worst I've seen of bruce is he told Gene tunneys sons, he'd beat their father. Or he said he'd beat Ali when his students asked..

Yes, I think John saxon said he cringed when he heard bruce say it to Jay tunney.
And it was Fred weintraub who recalled the conversation between John tunney and bruce. Tunney asked bruce if he could have beaten his dad. Bruce relied " To tell the truth I can beat anyone in the world. If i just sat there and let him hit me, forget. But could he even get close to me?"
I think bruce was happy to be self deprecating, I think k it was his natural instinct in fact. But I think if he believed you really wanted answer, and bruce being self deprecating was of no use to you, well then that's another matter

Like many others I grew up hearing Bruce Lee being cocky as well, but I always had the impression that it is also down to the interpretation of different people, I mean if you catch the guy in a certain time with a brief exchange and then generate some type of finite conclusion about his character then that itself is also not that believable.

Ha! Simultaneously easy going and difficult to work with. ☯️. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is an interesting historical fiction/4th wall breaking approach.
Some things are turned upside down and omitted for the audience to figure out for themselves. Hollywood being cool, Ms. Tate’s unfortunate circumstances turning out differently and Bruce Lee getting manhandled by a stunt double 😋.
Also, Bruce Lee’s training sure did make Ms. Tate proud upon seeing her performance in ‘The Wrecking Crew’. ✌🏻😁.
