There are some incredible driver's cars out there that it feels like we’ve all forgotten about.
Maybe the sales department dropped the ball or maybe the engineers decided to tweak a pretty normal car into something truly special, and then forgot to tell the guys in marketing about it. Whatever it was, we now have the opportunity to snap up some forgotten gems.
Let us know what you think in the comments, and don't forget to subscribe to stay up to date.

At ReDriven, we’ll be taking you through the pros and cons of a huge range of used cars to see how well they’re going now that they’re a few years old, have thousands of kilometres on the clock, and are coming toward the end of their warranty, or maybe don’t have one at all.
Plus, thanks to our resident mechanic, Jim, you’ll find out what commonly goes wrong with them and what might need to be fixed.
Most importantly, we want to make ReDriven a voice for the most in-the-know used car experts there are...you guys.. See, you’re the ones that actually buy, live with, love and sometimes unfortunately hate the cars we’ll be reviewing.
So we want to hear your thoughts. Hit us up in the comments, or on Instagram and Facebook.
We’d love nothing more than for you to give us as much feedback as possible, so we can make this channel the best it can be.

My RUclips algorithm is now catching up with this channel. Great content.
I do agree with the 4 vehicle mentionedx except the Clubman. Only because I have zero knowledge on them.
I hope part 2 features a VN Commodore or an AU Falcon.
Cheers Jay. Highly recommend checking out Clubmans, they'll change your life! - AK
@@ReDriven Congratulations on hitting 20k subscribers. When I saw this channel, I thought it was part of a massive website (such as carsales) but quality, honest reviews set this channel apart from other websites.
@@MartinJones123 Thanks so much Martin. It's just Sam and myself (AK presenter) mainly with Jim (mechanic) and Cal (Top 5 editor) helping out immensely. - AK
I honestly reckon Adam has hit the nail on the head for the reasons a lot of these cars weren’t popular. They all have a certain, unattractive image attached to them whether it be associating them with certain groups of people who drive them, or the fact that these models are all either the entry point, or near the bottom end of a manufacture’s performance car line up. Also quick question for Adam, it was pretty easy to guess my dream car, so I was wondering what’s yours? Finally I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that a relatively small channel like this one can put out content that would embarrass other channels that have been around for years and have thousands of more subscribers, once again guys this is genuinely good car content and I will keep complimenting you in the comments until you fellas get 1 mill subs.
Hear hear!
Ah cheers mate!
My dream car changes on about a 4 minute schedule mate. However, if we're talking money no object, a Singer 911 to my spec would be bloody hard to pass up. We just need about 4 million more subscribers for this to actually happen!
Mate you're too kind and thank you so much. We're getting more and more confident that we're getting there with ReDriven. Still a long way to go and we love constructive criticism but we're determined to keep producing the best possible content we can. - AK
19.9k subscribers as I view this and I'm sure 20k is only a sleep or two away. Congratulations on making that 20k milestone.
Done! - AK
52.8k ......🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏
Love these lists guys. I’m in the market for a little sports car in Australia and this is the best channel. Didn’t even consider a Porsche Boxster until you brought it up
Mate, I LITERALLY just got an E82 135i , with some lovely after market work done to it, and it honestly blows my balls off every day. So stoked to see it get some attention, definitely reaffirms my purchase.
Congrats Matt! - AK
Nice one, guys. Great channel.
Cheers mate! - AK
Looking forward to part 2 & 3!
Great list, expected an mx5 in there somewhere.😉
Congrats on this channel and your content.
Really loving it and telling all my mates about it.
Thanks so much David. - AK
Really love your contents, keep it up ❤
Great just what I needed on cencus night after completing endless questions this far more exciting keep up the good work
Hahahaha our pleasure Robert. - AK
Mazda 3 & 6 MPS! Forgotten gems! (mazdaspeed 3 & mazdaspeed 6's) hope they appear in part 2, 3 or even 4 🤔
Great job guys - looking forward to seeing part 2, 3, 4, 5...You might have just sold me on a used Clubman, although I'm looking for a daily driver.
Thanks so much. I'm not sure we'd recommend a Clubman as a daily mate. - AK
Can't wait for more performance car lists! I'm looking for an affordable performance car in the next few months
Here are a couple we've already done mate. ruclips.net/video/dYxdk_eELOQ/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/JJu_tihnU5M/видео.html - AK
Awesome video. 1st one was quite surprising.👌👌
Cheers Davesh! - AK
Finally some love for the 135i! Sure they have their issues, but all are addressable and the car is a riot to drive. Option to have it in manual and incredible tuning potential from the standard block. Very happy with mine.
Biggest pile of crap I’ve ever owned mine had the n55.. glad it’s gone
I have a 2005 Boxster S and couldn’t agree more. What a wicked car. Nothing can keep up in the corners.
The Caterham is such a good idea if you can do 2 cars in your life imo.
Such a cool concept
Whole heartedly agree with your f20 M135 choice, very sad it didn't make the cut :(
As were we mate. - AK
Used to have a 2009 CLK 63 AMG, it was a beast of a car, brutally fast but, when MB asked for $4K per front rotor at 120km (they’re 2 piece and can’t be machined) we knew it was time to pass her on. The sad thing about having such a sexy performance car is they attract assholes. Twice it was damaged in car parks and once my wife was driving it and stopped at red lights in Melbourne and a drunk idiot jumped on the bonnet FFS. We sold it and now drive around anonymously in a very nice IS350F Sport and nobody looks twice. Oh, out of this lot I’d take the AMG, just get someone else to pay for the parts 🤣🤣🍺🇦🇺
Thanks for sharing real owners review. On the incident were your Mrs was stationary at lights and some low life jumped on the bonnet she should have launched forward so he would roll over the bonnet and when he hit the bitumen driven over the top or reverse back over then problem solved he won't be doing again ultimate justice served
@@robertceroli3512 well, don’t tell anyone but my wife is an ex professional runner, gymnast and is quite strong. She chased the bloke down and took him to the ground about one block from the scene of the crime. She slammed him pretty hard and bystanders were actually verbally abusing my wife for her tackle on him and yelling at her they were calling the cops. She said great, I need the police he damaged my car. Anyway after holding him down for about 15 minutes no police showed up so she let him go. She reported the matter the next day (on my instance) and VicPol were really good but they never caught up with the shitman. At least she dished out a bit of summary curbside justice! Anyway, a new bonnet and grill were required as he kicked the mesh grill in before jumping on the car. He was just a pissed angry individual who does not like other people working hard to have nice things. Haha I said the same as you, she should have planted her foot and sent him flying 🙂
Awesome comment Cammo, thanks so much. - AK
I would include the Audi TTS as well. It can be tuned easily to 400 HP and like the RS would outperform all the cars on your list.
Def agree with the Boxster
The Alfa Romeo GTV twin spark, Renault Clio RS and Mazda MX-5 are three that come too mind for underrated performance cars so hopefully we may see those on part 2 of this topic.
Also one that I think you guys would be qualified to answer in a video is what cars chew the juice worse than an untuned fully loaded b triple.
All excellent possible part 2 ideas mate.
Awesome idea too, as always. - AK
@@ReDriven one car I should've put with the other 3 is the Nissan/Datsun bluebird as its really the older brother/forerunner to the modern skyline dynasty (as the original skyline was made by prince motors)but just as good a car.
RAV4 with the 2gr V6 engine is a massive sleeper, 0-100 in 6 secs, no one expects that
100% and we actually mentioned that on another Top 5 recently. Epic thing. - AK
@@ReDriven which video is that?
I love the TT!! Would be too expensive to maintain?
We'll hopefully find out when we review one Raphael. - AK
A friend of mine had a beautiful girlfriend with an Audi TT RS. 🚗💃🏼 Cool enough to be a model. She absolutely blew the doors off of my mate’s Subaru Impreza WRX and my Honda Civic Si. 😂 I think she drives a Ford Mustang now and her mum had a killer manual BMW M2.
Man would I love an affordable and reliable Porsche Boxster
Blocking out the badge doesn’t really work in the thumbnail lol for us enthusiasts, anyways great video.
Yeah short of blocking the whole TT out, it's a difficult car to disguise. - AK
Is the Clubman even legal in Australia? Esp. in Victoria, I've never seen them around. If they are legal then I'm getting one.
They sure are mate. - AK
More than the Boxster, I think that the Cayman and Cayman S are massively underrated.
The only two current examples in Australia. $60k
Awesome list once again! The Germans are dominating it. However, I’m confident that the Italian 500 Abarth is be making the cut in part 2 or 3.
Or will it mate, only time will tell! - AK
Thanks AK for not including the Lotus Evora …..this time. Just remember to keep that one on the down low. 😉
Hahahahahawe were very very tempted mate but we didn't want to upset you. - AK
You guys should really do a top 5 best sounding cars video! (if the 911 gt3 isn't included I think I'll have a stroke)
That would have to include the Yamaha V10-powered LFA then! 😎
@@brainsmatterpodcast 1000% yes, that engine is one of the greats
And the carrera GT 😍
Awesome idea!!!! - AK
Ooo i see Toyota hiace
What about budget performance vehicles
Heya Sam. Yep, we've done a Top 5 Performance Cars Under $10K and $20k previously. Here are the links for you. ruclips.net/video/JJu_tihnU5M/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/dYxdk_eELOQ/видео.html
V8 Benz… what a beast
Think the AMG A45 should have got a mention.. becoming very affordable and are rockets.. would probably smoke every single one of those cars listed... just MO.. 😊
It might just be listed on a video coming up Thom. - AK
10 years ago this list would have been all Japanese cars
I picked up my TTRS for only $36K in Australia in excellent overall condition with 93K kms.
The engine in the 135i my family had just decided to blow up one day.
It turned me off from BMW for good.
And “a few thousand dollars” would only cover basic repair that would inevitably be required.
I would say $10k in a high risk (and high return) fund may just earn you enough money to keep it running.
We'll be covering all this when we do a 135i review mate. If there is anything else you think we should include in the review, please let us know. - AK
What was the specific issue exactly?
@@neelparmar6690 Probably rod knock.
I hear the audi tt is both reliable & unreliable (for the 2 litre & the 3.2 litre variations respectively...)
We're on the hunt to review a TTRS (or any TT) at the moment Rabi. We'll keep you posted. - AK
Yet again a car not being sold in one country removes it from the list... ridiculous. What about all the other countries it was sold in?
We can't win mate. If we only feature cars that are available everywhere, we get criticised. If we feature cars that are more specific to a country, we also get criticised.
What would you do in our position when we cop flack from both opinions and the vast majority of our viewers are international? - AK
Since you mentioned the Lotus 7 as number 1, here are a few honorable mentions, in my opinion:
BAC Mono: very lightweight, but having the power of a Honda Civic (literally)
Ariel Atom: although they are track cars, they're very lightweight and powerful, and they sound very good too.
Both are truly brilliant. I saw an Atom in Germany a while ago and was surprised how big it looked in the metal.
We would have loved to include both but neither have made it (legally) to Australia. - AK
Do you mind doing the opposite of this? Top 5 overrated performance cars.
100%. Awesome idea. - AK
فحص عمان
sorry how can that be your number one choice, remember your addressing an international audience, we want a car that can also be a daily driver.
Great question Rudy and my apologies for the delayed reply.
The Clubman is truly international with many countries even running Clubman specific racing series.
At no point did we specify that these performance cars need to also be daily drivers (however, I have a friends father in-law that does daily drive his Clubman) and expanding on that, the concept of what is and isn't a daily driver is surely subjective. One could argue that a Clubman is a far more daily worthy vehicle than a sports or super bike yet thousands daily their Yamaha R1's and BMW S1000RR's.
This video was purely meant to bring to light some performance vehicles that are far too often overlooked. When many spend hundreds of thousands on say a convertible Ferrari or Lamborghini, a Clubman will arguably offer a more unique and possibly faster driving experience while still drawing attention from passers by.
We've just found many people aren't even aware of the existence of the Clubman, hence it topping the underrated performance car list. - AK
