    I like the manner in which the displacer cylinder had its hot and cold sides separated with those wooden flanges. That is very advantageous as most of the losses in this engine is because the energy is lost in the heat going from hot to cold ends without the energy making useful work on the power piston. Well done.

    This thing puts out a bit more power than what I'm used to seeing on youtube. It also makes a nice sound.

    Very nice. might have to try that without the secondary side lines and use the thrust of one to shift the other.

    nice how much mechanical energy does it produce? could it run a small generator? thanks

    I have a problem, my engine won't start. I have read that the upper part of the chamer needs to be cooled and the lower part needs to be heated, how did you do yours??

      @StirlingBuilder  10 лет назад

      What you have heard is correct. There must be a temperature differential between the top and the bottom. This engine is air cooled, so there is no extra cooling added. Many pop can engines are set up to use ice or cold water to keep one side cool.

    can you tell me how you seal the opening for the spacer rod?

    I'm a bit confused on the pressure chamber flange plates. Do you use a gasket of some kind to prevent air leaks between the plates?

    Keep looking. people have made the type of video you need.

    Some can power a decent led light. Pretty sure that's the extent of its power on these scales...

    hey this engine doesnt require anykind of fuel??

    • @StirlingBuilder
      @StirlingBuilder  8 лет назад +1

      It requires a temperature difference. That is usually created with fuel of some kind.

    • @saranghosal778

      can i use water as the fuel??
      moreover what is the fuel used in the video??

      +Saran Ghosal Liquid wax candles are used in this video. Since it is an external combustion engine you can use any fuel you want.

    hay guys i couldn't understand what is happening at 0:50... he cut the upper and lower part and then again joined ? why ?

    • @StirlingBuilder
      @StirlingBuilder  11 лет назад +2

      Those are the displacer pistons. They had to be reduced in size so that they fit inside the pressure chamber, which is also made of a pop can.
