The QOL improvements will 100% get me more engaged again. I love running alts, but not having to farm for each and every single one of them.
Best way to fix this for alts would be to allow Reputations/Renowns to be account-wide. Anything and everything that's been completed on a main character is also completed for our alt-characters

@NGBH Well they announced it would work for a war within but not for things from before that. At least in its first iteration.

It's really brutal in DF, where Reknown is so front and center.
After the disjointed story between legion into bfa into shadowlands i think its a good idea to have a coheasive story.

They literally just copied Final Fantasy with this concept.
They also replaced Hydaelyn with Azeroth what with all the head talking voices etc. Pretty deflating for those who know.
The hope is they don't hide half of the story in a novel series.

yeah, this is all evergreen type stuff, even the upcoming expansions are basically setting up the World Revamp, which in chunks was the only way that was ever gonna happen, notice how they chose TBC and Wrath, two worldspaces that didnt even change with the Cataclysm.
I really want solo challenges like Horrific Visions. That was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in the game, and there are none in DF.
While I hear you about feature bloat, I don't think a proper time to bring that up is when they give meaningful content to solo outdoor players. I imagine this will be a huge add to the game for us casuals and solo challenge focused players alike.
Yep, I'm really looking forward to the Delves. It look like a mix between Torghast and the Myritt Burrows (and those were fun) and since I don't like Dungeons that sounds perfect for me!
I agree. I'm a outdoor content enjoyer and was excited to see that we will have space in the great vault too!
@@Valfara770 Yeah honestly they could just remake Torghast with a more aesthetically pleasing or diverse theme and make that an alternate gearing track and I'd be happy. I hope delves are fun.

I was excited to hear about vault slots for us too! I haven't been vault eligible in weeks and it will be so nice to have something to open again!
My biggest fear is them going down the Destiny route where the expansions are smaller and pumped out faster at full price, rather than the current 2 year cycle that we have then you end up paying like $70 a year for 3 years.

70$ a year? its $156 with the best deal (12 month sub) + $17 for the xpac (50:3) so its $173 a year.

It seems really weird to do Classic Cataclysm when it was Cataclysm that ended the original Classic experience in the first place.

Gotta be honest; I didn't expect it either. Cataclysm is basically the first expansion in the current storyline, while TBC and WotLK wrapped up loose ends from WC3. Cataclysm was where the decline began, and the game never recovered from it. The majority of the community tends to be split as to whether TBC or WotLK was the peak, but who's nostalgic for Cata?
I agree lore wise and maybe they shouldn't call it Classic, as Cataclysm isn't part of the original Classic experience; but I still think that it's right of Blizzard to re-create that Cataclysm experience, just maybe under a different name.
@@JamCieIt simply cannot be such a small amount of the community. You might remember the survey they sent out earlier this year as to whether there is an interest in Cataclysm Classic, if they were to make it. And the response must've been overwhelmingly positive, otherwise Blizzard wouldn't waste resources on it.
@@henrikhumle7255 Wdym you didn't expect it? I agree lore wise, maybe they shouldn't call it Classic; but it's still good that they're re-creating it. Clearly a lot of people are nostalgic for Cata, otherwise Blizzard wouldn't spend precious resources on it.
Announcing the 3 xpacs does a lot. Shows the stories are going to be wrapped up, people have been thinking WoW was going to shutdown and this shows it won't. When people start fearing a shutdown/maintenance mode, it starts a snowball rolling down a hill picking up momentum to lose tons of players. It gives the player the ability to see themselves playing for the next 6 years to see what happens and more.
people thought WoW would shut down for the past 10 years. it can go right or it can go wrong. a lot of people return if they start a new story every expension, but if people dont enjoy the first one in this saga, i gues a lot less will return for the 2nd and or 3th part.
After BFA and Shadowlands, it was truly the first time people really felt the loss of players and capital cities on full servers had no one in them and even the people that were diehard wow players truly began to doubt too. @@bopo900
No it isn't and no it doesn't. They also announced that they'll "deliver content faster." In other words, these three expansions are probably going to be a lot smaller, and over a lot quicker, than traditional expansions. I think it's far more likely that they're going back to their failed model of trying to do an expansion every year, or at least every 18 months. You'll get less content, but you'll have to pay up more often.

Story line ultimately doesn't matter much. It is the game play that causes people to stick around, story is only there as a distraction. You don't log into wow everyday to replay the story line. @@bopo900
They sincerely need to rescind the early access. It's just not ok in an mmo where everyone is racing to end game. I don't know what they could replace it with, but we cannot let them think early access is a thing we are OK with.
Also, fall 2024? And 10.2 is the last raid? So we may very well be looking at a year long final patch _again_ despite their whole "sooner than you think"?
I also agree with Hazel about the transmog change. It's great, I love it, we've been asking for it for a while. But farming transmog is a big part of my end game, and it really feels like I'm wasting my time if I do it now, knowing it'll be so much more efficient and effective next year. Ugh.

You are blowing this out of proportion. Early access does nto get access to Mythic+ or raids. They basically have no access to endgame content until after official release. THere is no race to the end since you ahve to be in a team of 20 to even get to the end.
It's not about weather or not you have access to end game (but technically you will still get into it before others) it's more about what Hazel said. People are going to feel the need to buy the big pack because they see everyone else playing it and will feel left out if they don't
@@PradoxGamerAuThat is a player issue, not a game issue. Players need to learn sefl control and realize you aren't being left behind. I never start day 1 and I never feel behind or left out. OF course, what Hazel doesn't consider is that those with early access will have to deal with all the launch bigs and those waiting will actually have a smoother 1st day as Blizzard fixes them.
So you think that people shouldn't point out when company's are doing something that is very predatory and everyone should just bury their heads in the sand and hope they don't do something worse? I'm so unbelievably excited for warbands, I'm an avid collector and alt-oholic and it's going to be such a huge QOL improvement. But it's only been a day and I'm already feeling the effects of transmog limbo. 😅 I think for the next year I'm going to be shifting my focus to farming other collectibles/achievements and only go after specific transmog pieces I intend to use immediately.
Yes indeed. I don't have a ton of time to play anymore, so transmog dropping for the wrong class was painful. This is going to be a boon for people like myself who are both time-constrained AND alt-addicted.
Can't wait to hear more about delves. We haven't had dedicated small-group stuff in a while.

3 day early access is standard with most mmos in early access these days. WoW is just now catching up to games like runescape that had tokens (bonds) well before WoW did.
I am so stoked for all of the account wide changes!! No more rep grinding on each character. Also the transmog yes!!!
I do kind'a like the Hero Talents, because in the end, they COULD just keep and modify this smaller talent tree, leaving the two larger ones alone, to put in new talents/traits/features as the new expansions come up. It means a lot of saved time in the end I think, vs. re-balancing the two larger trees. And it's an echo of the Artifact Weapons from Legion, which I did like personally.
Yeah, if they get a class's talent tree in a good place they can just keep it that way and make all the changes in the hero talents. I always thought it was a bit silly how they'd do so many class changes every expansion just because they feel like they had to even though many classes were already in a good spot.
@@WadeAllen001 Pretty much. What they have in DF is great for the 'base' talents minus maybe tweaking here and there as the expansions go on but no major changes. What changes are the 10 "other" talents which add character flare/uniqueness.
If I were Blizz, after every expansion, the only tweak to be done to the base talents would be taking maybe the top one or two most popular/liked of the ten other talents, and subbing them in, and removing other talents not so well liked/used. And even then, that'd be a HUGE if.
@@twiztedsynz Sounds good to me, but isn't that just "borrowed power" again? How is changing the hero talents each expansion different from removing artifact weapons or covenant abilities and legendaries after an expansion is over?
That 70 boost gives you 424 hear also! I play horde an used it on a brand new Kul Tiran druid, and now that druid is my best character as a casual player.
I almost always get the highest priced edition simply for the goodies like mounts and pets. Plus it usually tacks on a month of game time so totally worth the extra.
Regarding the staggered launch: it might actually mitigate the nightmare of lag that usually accompanies a launch...we shall see.
I just love how they've announced 3 expansions in a row, as well as the themes of these expansions - Xalatath, Nerubians, Quel'thalas, Void vs Light, the Titans. Feels good to have Metzen writing the actual cosmic stuff.
i dont know if i like it. it also takes away a bit of the speculation for the upcoming 4-7 years. if people dont like the first one then the next 3-6 years also wont gonna be amazing. i hope it does tho. but it felt like a spoiler bummer for me.

Did they really announced 3 expansions or 3 big, major content patches disguised as expansions that're expanded a bit and released yearly so they can charge for each of them ? That remains to be seen...
Same, I look at it as one big expansion with 3 parts. Hopefully it will come out in 18 months expansion cycles.
i'd rather it just stick to the 2 year cycle, being disabled and having to get my sister to buy the expansions for me could get complicated if i gotta bother her more frequently.@@clutchclark

Preordered the Epic as an early - or possibly late - Christmas present to myself. The griffin mount is epic on its own.
Question: Do you think the races and quests will be available for alle players down the line or only for hero or epic orderer? I think it's pretty disapointing that i will miss out on part of the gameplay because i don't want or can spend that much money. the 3 day head start and beta thing will be irrelevant weeks later, but that....
I think the reason they showcased the three together was to try and sooth over the community about how the story seems to lack a direction. With them showing they have the next three chapters in the works, should indicate they have at least hammered out major story beats, rather then winging it like the past couple expansions have felt.
delves sound like the MoP scenarios 2.0.. i never understood why they didnt continue scenareos when they had them but its good they're coming backvand better than before and being planned to stay.
as for classic cata... i wanted it but not because i planned to play it. rather, it kinda was a barrier to classic of other expansions.. either we stopped at wotlk or we continue getting classics for all the expansions eventually. and i really want classic MoP cuz MoP is my favorite xpac (best xpac for warlocks imo and i mained lock since i started playing in wotlk) so with the announcement of clasdic cata i fully expect classic mop in a few years and will be all up on that. lol

I think they're probably going to be a bit like an expanded sniffenseeking from Zaralek.
I'm glad they made it to where I can pre-order digitally and pre-order the Collector's Edition that I actually want and they just reimburse the digital pre-order when I add the CE to my account. Then the reimbursed balance pays my sub for awhile. Felt pretty bad for years getting the CE and sitting around waiting on shipping while everyone was playing and buying the cheaper versions.

I'm excited about Warbands, but when they first mentioned it I thought it was going to be something like being able to bring your alts with you as party member NPCs. That'd be pretty cool.
One thing that I wanted to hear about for The War Within is professions, so I hope they talk about it in the Q&A. I hope they keep the Dragonflight system but add some improvements like knowledge catch-up. I've also been itching for a new profession for years now, and getting archaeology back. You'd think an underground expansion would be a great time to bring back archaeology (especially with the delves and hanging out with Brann Bronzebeard).
I think for me the big feature is probably delves. Who knows if it's actually going to be fun or good, because several of these types of things have turned out to be bad in the past like island expeditions and warfronts, but I am excited about the game rewarding open world casual players with more rewards and gear, as I'm not super into M+ or raiding.
The 3 days early access is pretty lame. That kind of thing never feels good in a game that's competitive. And while it may not super matter for gearing, it will definitely matter for story spoilers and for cornering the early expansion profession market. That being said, I level up slowly anyway. When people in my guild were reaching level 70 in Dragonflight I was still like level 64. So I was behind on professions just because of my own relaxed pace. But it still sucks to miss out on the fun of expansion release day for people that rightfully don't want to cash out an extra $40.

I want to see Hardcore Classic Cataclysm. I think the idea of trying that and Deathwing just showing up is hilarious. If I recall correctly in retail he got my main in the Blasted Lands.
I'm wondering if the transmog changes will include items that only drop for specific classes, like Taeshalach or the Tusks of Mannoroth, will now be acquirable on classes that wouldn't get it. Probably not, but it'd be a great QoL change for those of us who like to focus on one character at a time, but end up changing mains regularly.

One thing I found out about the mount that didn's seem to be clearly stated anywhere is that it's ONLY a dragonriding mount. Currently, it's unavailable for "old world" flying. I suspect that eventually they will throw the "on" switch at least parts of the old world, but it will be a long time coming. Given the amount of time I spend grinding mounts and mining in the old world, this is a shame. :P
they did say that dragon riding is coming to the old world (EK, Kali, etc) in 10.2.5 so that's cool.
Just an update to this in case anyone missed it (and I'm typing this the day after Blizzcon finished) - dragonriding is coming for every area that you can currently fly in, and you'll have the choice between dragonriding and normal (they called it TBC riding to distinguish between them)
Question - did they specifically say the 3 day early access carried over to the full release? In diablo IV, I had early access, and then had to start all over on day one. In addition, early access was a week or two before full rollout, with a multiple days of no access in between.

Warbands sounds amazing and something I'm really looking forward to as an altaholic. I collects pets and mounts more than anything else and so could find myself caring more about transmog when the Xpac comes out now as a result of this. Another great video Hazel!
Question: So it was confirmed that Amirdrassil will be the last raid. With the expected timing of the next expac, and the dungeon loadout for DF season 3, was there any hint at a season 4 for DF? I feel they're set up for a season 4 being the three raids, fated and rotating, and the M+ dungeon pool being all the DF dungeons only. Thoughts?
the announcement was so huge imo, i'm still hyped AF as we speak. great QoL, opt-in rather than forced, choice matters so much. 3 part Saga shows more of a cohesive story rather than just swap between Void and Fel which tbh that's exactly what they did the past 20 years.

I am glad they are implementing a way to gear for a solo focus player. For those who don't have the schedule to raid at normal times(a night shift guy here)
Question - what do you think will be between this season (confirmed last raid for DF if I'm not mistaken) and the next expansion, which is expected fall 2024?
I'm not hazel, but I would expect a season 4 in the format of Shadowlands' season 4. The 3 Dragonflight raids on a rotating weekly cycle at increased difficulty with a new roster of M+ dungeons.
Question - you mentioned you might miss a "one big blockbuster feature" for the 'War Within' expansion. What has been the "blockbuster feature" for you for all of the previous expansions? If I may ask 😀
Also, did the second day deep dive make you more hyped? Personally I'm even more excited for the warband feature 🙌😄

QUESTION: Which of the announced Hero Specs look the most interesting to you? Some of them seem very obvious which specs will share (Frostfire), while others I can kinda guess (San'layn (Frost/Blood please?)), and then there's Monk, where I could see any of those titles for anything.
It's actually really messed up they put the dwarf model on Horde. This means they get 2 unique allied races (Vulpera, Earthen) and Alliance gets 2 reskins (Mechagnome, Earthen). Also, Dwarf is an og Alliance race, one of the best ones, and Alliance is not gaining a Horde equivalent.

There are some quality of life aspects about Cataclysm that I've been missing in Classic. They've already added in account bound mounts, pets, and account wide achievements for some things. I've also been kind of missing the FPs that were added in Cata at times, when I've wanted a quick flight from Stormwind to Goldshire or when I wanted to get the rest of the horse mounts & couldn't just fly out to Eastvale Logging camp for them & they don't yet have them in Stormwind. Also I wouldn't mind being able to make a Worgen. Never finished the Goblin starting area so I don't really miss playing them in Classic.

I feel like Cata Classic is a necessary evil to get to MoP Classic, which a lot of people are interested in. So I can see them blasting through those Cata raids to get to MoP Classic.
Question for anyone or Hazel, I bought the basic expansion last night, got the free 70 boost. You boost a character and get reknown20 on dragonflight rep, problem is for customization( scale colors etc.) it still says locked for me. Anyone else have this problem?
Did you buy the scrolls from the reps to unlock the customizations?

So - the high end expansion is $20 US more than the prior tier - and includes a month of game time, which is $13 already. So your additional cost is only $7 for not just the early entry but also a pet, a toy, a hearthstone, and guaranteed beta access. I just don't see anyone *realistically* saying "I can't afford $7 more in the next year but I can afford the mid-level expansion".
One of the most exciting things about Cata Classic is the ability to play as a Goblin. Finally!

With pricing being what it is overall, each upgrade of the expansion is worth the increase in price if you want some of those items anyway. For $20 more than the basic upgrade, you get a mount, and mounts regularly go for that much in the store. If you collect mounts, that's nothing extra. For $20 more than that, you get 30 days of game time, which is the same as a game token. Add the pet, which would go for $10 in the store (assuming you collect pets), and you're getting a discount. While I feel that all these prices are larcenous because they're added to a mandatory subscription model, considering that the WoW community as a whole has happily gone along with them for 20 years, people get what they ask for. What I disagree with you on is that you seem to feel only the 3 days of early access makes it an unfair pricing structure.
Question. so are you against delves.. the one thing they give us casual solo players so we dont have to deal with people to get gear / as much rng?. also do you think they will give more than LFR i personaly hope for normal or higher as LFR gear isnt a massive win

I think the option to purchase the early access also serves to mitigate the impact of launch day problems. This may just be a byproduct of monetizing it but they must have that on the pro list of reason to do this. I'm ok with it as many casuals wont purchase it like that but entire mythic raid guilds will meaning that the parties most effected by timed systems get a head start with, hopefully, less launch day problems.

i have one word in regards to the early access. PROFESSIONS you have a 3 day headstart on rep, recipes and mastery compared to everyone else

The pre-entry might be a way of mitigating the lag in the first days of a new expansion :-D
I was grinding for the crimson whelpling and knew how unlikely it was to drop. I got very bitter and gave up 2-3 times but had the time to go back to it so i tried again. Then, one time I was running through this area for something else and it randomly dropped. Always when you least expect it...
I thought giving away the next 3 Expacs was a brilliant move. It shows how they're actually committing to an ongoing narrative, instead of completely changing everything after each expac like they have for the last several years.
It does not mean an ounce of committment. In 2 years, they can say “we are scrapping the next 2 xpacs! Sorry!”

I'm fairly sure this changes nothing as they have already said in the past that they pretty much work two expansions in advance. This is just showing it to us. The myth that they change everything each expansion is absolutely false, its just that they had decided to make more isolated stories while this one is by its name, a saga.
I don't know about brilliant, but it's definitely pragmatic... This is them admitting that they completely lost the trust of the fanbase, and giving us a 6--9 year timeline will help retain/regain engagement after how many flops/poor creative decisions they've had in the last 10 years... It's like when businesses make a series of poor decisions and then are put on "probation" by their investors

What I would have liked is that you can customize your preorder. Adding the features you want, so we can get EA without the cosmetics.

My Question would be are they gonna balance the Hero talents or is it gonna be Covens all over again where one is going to be more OP then the other forcing players that want to play as one having to switch to another due to more power
I kind of felt the same after the Cata announcement, especially since the quests from then to now are essentially the same (in the old world). But I was thinking about it, and I have heard the small rumors of another possible cata-level revamp of the world, so it kind of makes a bit of sense. Assuming, of course, if things in current WOW do change again dramatically. It would be something nice to go back to. I may try Cata Classic, mainly to remember how the classes were back then. Plus, it would be fun to be randomly killed by Deathwing again, ha!

11:33 "We've had it before." Yeah but the same can be said about Vanilla, BC and WotLK. Clearly there is a demand for Cataclysm Classic, if you remember the survey they sent out earlier this year. It specifically asked us, the community, if there was an interest in Cataclysm Classic and obviously there is a demand, otherwise they wouldn't have made/announced it, if the majority said no. Personally, I started playing the game during Cataclysm, so that expansion is especially nostalgic for me and I'm super stoked about it.
Delves worked really well in Elder Scrolls Online.
The leap from heroic edition to epic edition is very worth it. Including one month play time is $15 of the $20 difference, then the pet and the 3-day access. The $20 for base game to heroic for a mount is a bigger reach.
I like the 3-day early access, not because pay to play early like most everyone else. If release date is Tuesday or Monday, a work day, I like being able to play first day on a Saturday without it being five days after launch.
The reason you don't see the people excited for Cata classic is because they're invisible. I love those daggers with their ugly banana glow enchant. Probably the peak version of Combat rogue before the neutering of blade flurry in two target cleave and bolting a slot machine to the spec.
What about flying or dragon riding in the new expac? Will only one be available or both and will we have to do a pathfinder to unlock it?

They should allow head hand feet and waist to be trarnsmogable across certain armor types like leather/mail/plate and cloth/leather/mail

I did not realize that the account wide reps will only be for the new xpac and not any of the old reps and that's a bummer. I was really hoping to get stuff from old reps on my alts without having to farm those reps all over again
The person who wants Classic Cataclysm is ME :) It was my favorite expac back when I played as a teenager. As a retail-only player this is the first time I've been interested in trying Classic. Very excited :)
Didn't consider the 3day earlier access when i bought my heroic pre-order, i just knew i wasn't bothered about the toy, pet and hearthstone toy and all i wanted was the mount
Just a note that the base game doesn't come with game time but the early access includes a month of game time which is typically about 15 bucks.
are those the official wow canvas prints in the background? i want them but jesus christ 150 dollars is crazy
I totally agree on "do we wait to do mog then???" because I know I do not want to run Molten Core if it's just going to be easier to get those T1 sets a year from now. I'm torn but honestly, I'd rather wait and safe myself the headaches.
I've not been playing Classic at all (gave it a try for Wrath but just couldn't get into it) but I'm actually excited for Cataclysm. I know there's a lot of hate for it, but I really loved that xpac; healing was challenging and fun at the start and I personally loved the class design at the time. Definitely going to give it a try.
maybe me to, but would it be beter to now create a char so you can start in cata zones instant or are you gonna wait and lvl a char once it releases?
They actually said it would start with DF renowns and work backwards from there.

I would suspect that the 3 "expansions" are going to involve leveling to 80 in War Within, and then the next two expansions being end game only. This would allow them to pump out the expansions a little more quickly and focus on the end game story rather than the bits and bops as you level. So if that's the case, maybe we can think of them as sort of mega patches.
I don't know any of this for fact, and it is just an educated guess based on Chris Metzen's statement regarding Midnight (for example). He said that we'd be "going back to the old world...." So unless they're talking about another old world revamp to accommodate leveling in it (which would take a LOT of time and effort), I just don't see it too likely that there will be leveling in the last two xpacs of our trilogy experience (this seemed to be reinforced when Metzen said that we wouldn't need to enlist our grandkids to operate our mouse and keyboard in those later releases - implying the faster cadence).

Cata is pretty much the reason we asked for Classic, does that mean we now have people asking for Classic Classic? "Retro" Classic? How about we expand permanent Chromie time to entire servers and just choose our own classic version to play in
