Yeah, definitely not street legal hear in Australia (NSW). I got pulled over a bit over a month ago and my ute got a defect notice because the low profile tyres were to skinny for the rims. The officers wouldn't hear that they are ment to be that way (and they are). I had 3 days to fix it and the exhaust because it was to loud. Anyway problem was fixed and I put the wheels back on that they said were "no good" after the defect was lifted.
Is there vehicle mod certification in Oz? We have it here in NZ which enables cars to be certified and street legal with heavy modification. Obviously this is pretty much on the limit of legal though too haha
@@c-westsgarage3056 yeah, any mods that change the stance, height have to be within certain spec's, anything other than that needs to have an engineer certificate. Usually 2in above or below factory is okay if you go further than that you need it engineered with a certificate. My ute has 20in walkies on it which means I have to run a very low profile but from the factory it had 18's so the wheels were fine but the tyres weren't. There are some crazy new laws that have just recently come into effect and there are lots of cars being put of the road. I also have a LH SLR500 Torana which I can't register no more because of all the mods that were done years ago. I'm 50 now and I've had that car since I was 18 so it's undergone some changes over the years. It's got a full roll Cage that is welded to the chassis (professionally fitted) but no engineer certificate and that's just the beginning so I don't think I'll ever get to drive it again on the road.
@@evo8power228 in my state, there’s only “state inspectors” not MOT Testers. and all of them follow the guidelines. 2 shops in my state have ever done lick and sticks and they’ve both been caught. i have 3 cars on aftermarket ecus and that alone fails inspection
@@evo8power228 no. actually a very conservative state by legislation. although NH has a democrap governor, we have a republican house and senate. our road going cars are just not allowed to be shit boxes. we have a 60 point inspection
