Man I miss the days like this... Whenever the drummer was killing, the people would get hype! Now it barely ever happens. Everyone shows hate and wants to be better than the next person instead of appreciating and applauding the skill level there. Musicians, we need to come together as one. It's more to it than just making money and having the good gig, it's a brotherhood. Respect it.
***** That's sad because I like Thomas pridgen. Thomas and Tony Royster did drum offs against each other that was sick. They both killed. I hate when dudes can't give others their props man. Eddie Hayward is a beast too, but to have his own family member talk negatively about him is sad Gerald Hayward is wrong for that.
Thus is the state of drumming. As sad as it is...its the gospel drummers who beef the most. We're suppose to set the example for musicianship and character.
I like this guys style. It's techinical, but musical. A lot of drummers with great technique get away from the groove too much and their solos become a display of skill instead of a display of great rhythm and musical flow. He's always right on that groove and he keeps it exciting even during more laid back parts with those bell accents and dynamics.
Aaron spears is an excellent drummer and very skillful as well. The church where this was held in New York looks like The Love Fellowship Tabernacle. Notice a lot of the Love Fellowship musicians near the drum kit who are also today some of the best gospel musicians out there!!!
I'm in tears of joy watching this. The power in that room created by the humanity of all thats good from all of our hearts is coming through those people. ALL OF THE PEOPLE and not a god. Various people of differing faiths and creeds have immense skill. I rest my case...G...

It seems like he works with a lot of 3's accent patterns in his fills and that's what throws it off (in a good way) it's kind of like he's playing a bunch of versions of bucks exercises. This is def. my new favorite drummer. :)
