I just bought a polished tiles before I look this video .. if I know early I will choose matt.. It’s suit me better.. sorry for my bad english.. and thanks for the tips
Thank you for your help! My kitchen flooring is matte. We ordered our backsplash in polished which I didn’t realize it was polished. Now I’m glad it is! 💕
Thank you for giving actual opinions about do's and don'ts rather than just listing options like everyone else! You made our decision very easy so we're going to do porcelain wood-looking tiles with matte finish for the whole downstairs. One question, do you have any videos or suggestions regarding what shade of wood-looking tiles to use in the kitchen when the kitchen counters are white tile and the cabinets are the usual medium-brown/blond oak look that was so popular in the past? We're worried about picking the wrong color and clashing. Thanks again!
So thankful for your comment! I would go with a light version of wood tone trying to get a similar tone with the countertop. In this case, avoid warm or dark tones like mahogany, walnut, cherry, since your kitchen will look smaller and fuller. Instead, use neutral tones like Ash with sand stain, maple, country white, birch or taupe. This way, you can give the space a more fresh look and forget about that “old times” feeling.
Short term solution: You can do this by keeping the tiles super clean and dry. Dust and/or water make them more slippery. I don't recommend applying any chemicals because it could damage the tiles. So happy that you loved it!
Thanks so much for this. I was losing my mind trying to figure out what to get ... one question, am about to renovate my apartment and want to put polished tiles. I'm thinking about using tiles from home depot but theit prices seem rather cheap so am kinda scared .. any advice?
Hello! Tiles come in different prices, and suprisingly, there are some that are not that expensive. My advices: (1) check for review if you're buying online. (2) Check every single tile as soon they deliver it to you, because the important thing here is that ALL of them should look the same. No cracks, no undertones, no stains.. Sometimes they lower their prices because the leftovers are all different. (3) Compare prices with other store. Hope everything goes well!
Great question. There is no official way to turn one Matte to glossy but I guess you could apply some sort of epoxy or resin on top to make it look glossy, but I suppose it could be a complicated work since the some tiles has its roughness and you’ll need a lot of material to cover it. It’s an unusual process but it can be done. I would recommend instead installing glossy tiles on top of the old ones if removing the matte tiles is not an option.
My pleasure! Yes you can, but I'll go with a matte tile for kitchen since is more likely to get stained or dirty. Of course, if you are constantly cleaning the floor, I don't see why not.
I am planning to use sterlina silver porcelain polished tile in master bathroom shower walls and around soakers tub.Would you suggest using the polished on floor as well or should I go for sterlina silver matte?
Hello! I'll say it always depends on the type of room you're planning to build. I suggest a light matte tile for that size since it is more versatile with different materials and will make the room look bigger.
Lots of ways! Porcelain or ceramic tiles are very resistant to regular cleaning supplies. Mop and soap will do. You could try baking soda, vinegar only once, but my best recommendation is a steam cleaner. The best of luck!
My pleasure, Glossy is the final top layer of the tile which is transparent shining. Howevr the polishing the the final mechanical surface process which makes tiles shines like meror. So not every Gloassy it a polished. And not every polished is a glossy. Take for example you can have a Glossy polished tile shich is the most shining tile you can get. And you can have a just glossy tile with no polish. Polished might be a Lappato, technical tiles, full body tile or even Glaze poish...
Thanks for the clarification. I guess I put both terms in the same category refering its shine. I understand that the gossiness can come from a polishing action, but of course not every glossy finish had a polished action.
The polishing action technically not tlrefered to as Glossiness. Glossiness is only the final top coat which is glossy (exactly like the gloss of lips). Polished is the miror action creating a reflective surface. You welcome dear
Matte or glossy which looks more beautiful for bathroom walls. When I look matt bathroom models they look more modern but when I look at polish. It also looks same
Suprisingly Yes, you could make you vinyl to shine a bit more. LVP flooring can loose its shine because of time, dirt, scratches or any external use. When this happens, the best way for this is to give the material a refreshment and of course, polish a little bit. Disclaimer, it will not look like a Polished mirror-like tile, but it will definitely shine a little bit. The way to do this is first Deep clean the floor. remove all stains possible, and all dirt. You could do this step with home remedies like baking soda, apple cider vinegar, baby oil, etc. and then apply a commercial vinyl polishing product like Murphy oil soap, Bona, Pine-Sol, Pledge.. There are many options to choose from. 😁
Thanks for this great video. I'm currently getting rid of the carpet in the bedrooms (thankfully) and I'm considering redoing the whole house's flooring. I like the minimalist big format/size matt (light greyish white concrete) tile look but the house isn't big and doesn't get much natural light. What would you suggest here? Would polished porcelain be a better option?
Congratulations on that renovation! I think you're choosing right! If the space isn't big enough you definitely need a light tone whether it is matte or polished tile. The best polished option would be a white marble-like tile. Polished tiles help a lot if you want to achieve a luxurious look, more if it is a big space. Stick to the light greyish white concrete tile 😉

Loved your quizzes in the last part of your video! What can we do to make the polished porcelain tiles less slippery?
Short term solution: You can do this by keeping the tiles super clean and dry. Dust and/or water make them more slippery. I don't recommend applying any chemicals because it could damage the tiles. So happy that you loved it!
Hii thankyou so much for your ideas .Before watching your video we bought dolomite glossy tile for our living room ..will it be so slippery.
Should i put matt or polished????
Also in my 4 bedroom should I go for laminte flooring or entire home porcelain tiles?
when house has only 4 bedrooms, it's ok to go with laminate, but if you have 5 or more go with porelain 🤭

If you chose matte, is it possible to make that finish look glossy later?

Thank you for the video, can i use high gloss ceramic tile for floor for kitchen?
My pleasure! Yes you can, but I'll go with a matte tile for kitchen since is more likely to get stained or dirty. Of course, if you are constantly cleaning the floor, I don't see why not.
It is very slippery when wet. Kitchen and bathroom are almost always matte or textured.

Go for the silver matte tiles for floor! It will look lovely. 👌
Thanks
Kindly suggest me which is better for me to use on wall room is 15×12 which one will be better glossy or mate please

I have matte throughput my house but it does hold some dirt. What’s the best way to remove the grime from matte tiles without damaging the tiles ?

I regret getting Matt flooring . I am sick and tires cleaning the floor 3 times a day
Ohh no. On the other hand, since polished tiles reflect almost everything, it feels more dirty than the matt tiles...
They varnished it , so it's a bit easy cleaning it .
I agree. I regret getting Matte tiles. I cannot figure out how to clean it. All mops get stuck. It is Soo hard? Have you figure anything out?
V true
Matte tiles is v difficult
Which is more stain resistant?
Glossy/polished ofcourse
So mind boggling I can't decide...😢
If you can't decide, go for Matt tiles and focus on another material of the room for your 'wow factor'.
Can we use matt tiles in bedroom??
Yes you can! With a light tone tile it will feel fresh and bigger. 👌🏻
You still dont understand the difference between glossy and polished ...wow
Please enlighten us 😀

Keep it up
Okay. matte for kitchen floor . I got it 101
Don't decide on a matte finish because it not slippery. Any tile gets wet it will be slippery. Like polish tiles because it gives a better clean look.
Nice branding professional channel. Nice
Thank you! ❤️
I used matte wood tiles but you're right it's hard to clean only the reason i like it's not slippery ..
And non slippery is important too! I know the frustration…
Have you figured out a way to clean it? Still haven’t figured that out! So hard?
@@luceromurillo1053use string acidic dirt remover.

Yep! Also an option for cleaning.
How come matte is so hard to clean? I saw a brand new bathroom that was not matte and wow the scratches 😮… what’s the easiest way to clean matte tile?
❤❤❤🎉🎉
High gloss shows scratches vs matt would hide scratches.
Exactly.

i choise matt
Welcome to the team!
i love the game at the end of the video. great job
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks a lot
Happy to help!
Is matt hard to clean?
It is not! Regular mop and that’s it. It’s more prompt to get stain with time but this also happens to the polished tiles as well
Very helpful vedo and tell me the attractive colr code in grey satine-matt finished tiles for main floor area (indoor home )
It is the Ansello Grey 24 in. x 24 in. Matte Ceramic. I think you could find this one in Home Depot. Great for interiors!
