Sharon Watts and Kathy Mitchell (4th April 1995)

In a weeks time in EastEnders we shall see the first scene between Sharon and Kathy in over twenty years, so I thought I would take us back to 1995 and the characters last scenes of major interaction.
In the aftermath of Sharongate and the return of Sharon to Albert Square after spending the post Christmas/New Year period with Angie, the characters didn't have a lot to do with each other. Sharon mainly interacted with Michelle, Grant, Peggy and Pauline. Scenes with Kathy were much rarer, which I suppose was done to underscore the fracture of their once close friendship.
Seconds out and round two!!! This is the second and last 'one to one' scene that Sharon and Kathy had. This takes place in the aftermath of Peggy finding out about the affair. After this the characters would share scenes together but wouldn't really interact.

It's funny how these 2 women Kathy Beale & Sharon Watts were once sister-in-laws (Sharon's marriage to Grant & Kathy's marriage to Grant's brother Phil). Then they were stepmother & stepdaughter - when Kathy married Sharon's real dad Gavin Sullivan. And finally mother-in-law & daughter-in-law when Sharon was briefly wed to Kathys eldest son Ian Beale (in a sham marriage). What is it with walford residents being related or almost related to almost everyone lol 😂
