    JP, Good evening. My name is Clodoaldo, I'm a beekeeper here in Brazil, I have few hives yet, around 80 hives, I also love ad bees, in the end I only know who works with them. I want to congratulate you on your work, I always follow RUclips. I am impressed by the size of the swarms there in the USA. Here in Brazil our swarms do not reach this proportion, and are very defensive. Congratulations and a big hug.

    • @tealkerberus748
      @tealkerberus748 5 лет назад +4

      Clodoaldo Maina the domesticated bees have been selectively bred for less fighting, more work. If you can introduce some good gentle queens - making sure they're not introducing any parasites or diseases! - you'll be able to have gentle, hardworking bees too.
      They still fight enough to protect themselves from predators. They're just not crazy aggressive any more.

      Thanks to shoes like yours I was brave enough to walk within 2m of the bee swarm and once I determined that they were chill with me there, I brought my son over to see them, which he loved. We didn’t get any closer as I didn’t want to accidentally step on them as with the vegetation, it was harder to see where they fell. Lol they were a bit clumsy

    I had a swarm at my apartment once on the back patio. They made their hive between two bushes. They formed what looked like 2 footballs.
    The bee guy came out and removed them. He said a new queen bee was born and she had to leave her hive and start a new one.
    I was able to watch the process from the safety of my bedroom. He removed them just like you did. Couldn't understand him not wearing the full on safety suit, just like you.
    He did get stung once or twice, didn't even flinch!
    I'm allergic to insect bites so I was freaking out.
    The bee guy said he was going to take them out in the country where it was safe.

      It’s a “bee vac.” It utilizes a 1.75 HP motor & has a suction regulator built into the unit.
      The regulator allows for enough suction to vacuum the bees into the catch box below without killing them.
      A standard shop vac without a regulator & proper ventilation will kill bees, this one is designed to save them.

    THE VACUM PROBABLY HAS A BEE HIVE LOL😂😂😂😂

    • @JPthebeeman
      @JPthebeeman  Год назад

      I actually had a queen bee move into a different bee vac I used to use years ago. I was removing bees from a playhouse floor & had already caught eight queens.
      Once I noticed what was going on I opened up the bee vac & there she was with a bunch of bees.
      Will never forget that, was the first time I actually had bees move into the bee vac with a queen nonetheless.
      I’ve had them land on the bee vac & the vac catch boxes many, many times but that was the one time bees along with a queen moved into the set up all on their own, was really cool & unique!

    I wrote a skit about bees. I added a scene with a drone... take that more than one way. The Spy Drone tells the girls that Monsanto is no more. Yay!... Nope! It's called Bayer now. They grab signs and go protest... Outlaw Round-Up - Ban ALL Pesticides - Save the Bees - Down with Bayer. I keep watching your vids. I love you, dude. Keep on keeping on... watcha got in that smoker that mellow those gals out so much? hmmm?

    Question. Have you ever accidentally vaccumed up a queen? Does it happen often?

    • @JPthebeeman
      @JPthebeeman  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, I have, several times in fact. Queen bees are pretty strong gals & usually don’t miss a beat even after being vacuumed.

    What I like most most of all is that this guy does care about RELOCATING them instead of killing them off. Our farmers NEED all the help they can get... This keeps our planet WAY more productive then worrying about COW FARTS!!! You hear this AOC???

    Wonderful Job! Keep up with the trivia on the screen. Knowledge about them is important. Do you take care of Bumble's too? I'm allergic but Bumble's are my favorite. 🐝

    • @JPthebeeman
      @JPthebeeman  5 лет назад

      Yes, I think bumbles are very cool insects! Their nests are very strange indeed! They don’t play though, painful stings! I perform live removals on them with the bee vac. Amazing how they spray venom at you through the screen of the catch box! Last year I removed one such colony that got me around both ankles even wearing a full suit! Talk about hurt!

    The Great Outdoors with John Candy and Dan Ackroyd. Even though it wasn't really shot in Wisconsin it's nice 2 see Wisconsin depicted nicely in movies being a Wisconsinite. Ringtone reminded me of that movie cuz the song was just recently released and gaining popularity and they allowed it for the beginning of the movie which helped set a good mood for the rest of the movie.

    i love bees and want them to thrive, but i'm also scared of bees in real life (irrational, sure!) so i love the music in your videos! listening to constant buzzing makes me panicky but i can handle a little mixed in with the music 😅 i turn down the volume on the more buzzy parts!

    We used to keep bees, me being the son I personally did not help out with them because they were my parents. But hopefully one day I can get a hive or 2. It is really cool what these creatures can do. No reason to be scared of a bee anyway they may sting somewhat. Once you get stung enough you get used to it. Awesome hive catches!
