I find its a balance for me that makes me happy. Doing yoga, meditation, meeting up with friends, doing my cyber security and also giving back. When you get a good balance I find that is what feels good.

Good reminder. That's why measuring how much you want something is important. Recently i'm getting outsized returns from running 20 mins only on treadmill daily - short enough to not be daunting but long enough to do some damage over time. Commitment is king.

Even more important than making a plan and sticking to it is figuring out why you made the plan in the first place. Yes the plan is arbitrary, you made up some stuff for it. But there is still a more significant meaning behind it. For example for myself I follow a very diverse workout routine, not because I want to deadlift a specific weight or run 10km under a certain time (though those can be useful motivators along the way), but because it will allow me to enjoy life for as long as possible by staying fit & healthy into old age. And that's an intrinsic motivation I am sure to never lose unless maybe if I would get severely depressed.
