Fair but I've placed orders where they have both my items in the same store in stock. Why can't they source both items from that store (they possibly do) and charge you less for postage?@atomiswave1971
I don't normally buy second hand items. But I saw a new tablet large for sale in the phone shop which was about a 1000 pounds. I saw something similar in CEX I am really pleased with it. They set it up for me. I paid 200 pounds. I thought that was a goodbye. Looks new. Worthing sussex
I'm not surprised that you can't find any good stuff in CEX. They are many channels like yours that promote CEX so heavily. What you have inadvertently done is influenced a lot more people to shop at CEX so of course the best stuff is now harder to come by. When you do these videos giving CEX free publicity and showing-off all the best deals while still relying on CEX to buy from in the end you will always shoot yourself in the foot. So when you sell your 6 pounds CEX game for 30 pounds on Ebay and others do the same don't be surprised when CEX puts their prices up. Every business would do that. If there weren't so many RUclipsrs running their mouth about how much money they made selling games from CEX on Ebay maybe the prices in CEX would be cheaper than they are now. Think about it.
I don't even bother with charity shops because they're never going to stock old Sega games, nope, they sell those online at above market average prices. It is hard to find alternative retro game stores. My city had two, but now it's down to one. Cash convertors is the only store I've found with some retro games outwith the places I already mentioned.
I was in Cwmbran on Monday. Wanted to buy the 2 disc Assassin's Creed Revelations on Ps3 [they had 3 copies] but the young girl tried to give me the 1 disc version. I pointed out to her it was the 2 disc version. Firstly she said oh no it isn't, someone has swapped the box and put it in a 2 disc case.....I corrected her again. She then said the store only take it in with 1 disc and not 2 discs.....yes she really said that. lol I ended up not buying it just because of her laziness and not being bothered. She also tried to give me the essentials disc for Assassin's Creed II, so I corrected her there too. She also traded one of my games in as a standard version instead of premium edition too, but I didn't notice until I checked me receipt after....so overall top service at CEX!
That happened to me with Fallout 3 GOTY on Xbox 360. They tried giving me one disc and I had to keep saying it comes with 2 discs until they eventually got the second disc for me, so frustrating!
Derby has quite a few video game shops now. Retro world, game exchange, cash converters and cash generator. Of course cex, and a tiny cex at the other side so 2. Oh and game in sports direct
Was talking to a employee in game last week in my city inside a sports direct about the pre owned. From what he was saying, they are clearing stock on sames and then anything thats not sold next week is going to be shipped to a main game store, a big stand along one nearby. From then on the main stand alone games are going to be doing the pre owned and 3 for 2's (also anything under £24 is going to be on the 3 for 2)
9:45 King's Lynn is a dump, I used to live there for all of my childhood and I still have family there and it is still a dump. You would spend 5 minutes there and want to leave
Many games currently in CeX since they've changed the w w/o manual thing, the default is w/o manual, so it could be that they actually do have manuals until they've recategorised them all.
Update on the GAME trade in situation: I spoke to a store manager regarding pre-owned games, and he stated that all the stock from the 'Sports Direct stores' would be directed to the remaining 'independent stores'. So if you're lucky enough to still have one of those nearby, pre-owned games will be around for a bit longer than anticipated
I think it might be worth doing normal reselling, going around charity shops, etc and finding things to flip on ebay to continue with the series for now. Or even doing what I suggested a few videos back, selling things on vinted and using vinted credit to buy things to trade into cex. Also, i'd love to see a video of your day to day life. I remember you mentioning that you do reselling outside of the game collection, would you make a video about those resales?
You have M T games in Weston Super Mare and Insane games in Bridgwater. Plus CEXs in both of those locations. Birmingham you have. Entertainment world and vintage gamer. In the Black Country you have Old Skool Gaming! All great shops!
The problem with facebook market place, the sellers dont put the correct description and what they want for them, i had one where they have £3 per game and had ps4 games, i message and they wanted cex prices, not the stated £3
A lot of charity shops seem to be selling games via Ebay. Made me wonder if they stored them somewhere tbh. My local high street is useless for video games. Cex and Argos is about it.
Local game in my town has just announced closure next month. Charity shops are not stupid now, most have accounts on eBay and they must look on there to see how much things are worth before putting into their stores if they are not worth much. If any of the games/consoles are worth money they almost list them all on eBay for auctions now.
Also noticed recently at my local CeX (City store) there Wii section has been VERY slim pickings for a couple of weeks now. There is almost as many Wii U games in stock than Wii. Same with DS coming to think of it. Wonder what is going on…. Also Wii game trade-in’s have also gone up a little on the games that used to be 10p voucher are now 30p…
Games and Collectables in Gloucester. But I've not been since before Covid. Also, you have to check in advance if they're actually going to be open as they like to randomly close for the day without much notice.
@TVM Regarding independent Game shops, we have one right next to a CEX called M.T games Ltd in Weston-super-Mare, just outside of Bristol. Wouldn't be too far to travel for someone in south Wales. I have not been in it for a while but you can see pictures of the inside on Google, when I was younger and had more disposable income this was the place to be for games in the local area.
For Independent video game stores, if you are ever in The Black Country near Birmingham, then there is Vintage Gamer near Halesowen and Old Skool Gaming in Brierly Hill. They have Xbox 360 stuff, I'm sure.
There's two stores here in Bristol called Gamescene, not been to one in ages but used to know the owner. One in Fishponds one in Kingswood. There's also a Retro shop in Brislington too, literally called Retro Bristol and I believe they have some games though mostly toys.
Loads of CEX stores in and around Birmingham. Birmingham Gaming Market is also April 6th if you fancied planning a trip. 2 Retro game stores not too far away that i use are Gamesmart & Entertainment World.
Realistically if you can’t find any video games or video game related items to flip to get the series back on track I would suggest flipping whatever you can ; you’ve spoke about it before and I think people would rather see more videos of you be able to pick games up because you’ve been able to sell some shoes rather than not having any videos at all !
Sports Directs Game section is terrible, they don't even put the prices on anything and the boxes just say "ask staff for assistance" I asked how much the OLED Switch was and they said they had to go call someone who could check for me, half an hour later still nobody so I just left. How hard is it to just put a sticker on it or hell even sharpie the price on it. smh

Prices are always going to be up and down, however, I think the market will boom soon but it'll be like the old "Soft Centre" (now THERE'S a throwback for you) but Soft Centres method worked....
