Haha! Love it. I got absolutely thrashed in a relatively small shorey just round at Kilcare about 20yrs ago. I still remember is clearly as it was basically breaking on dry sand and after each wave you could just stand up and walk back a couple of steps then wait for a gap to walk out again. This looked fairly similar although not quite as clean.
Nice one willy btw that’s at pearl beach go right for a less smoother ride but longer barrelled wave the set are less stronger toward the rocks so Head for the rocks after the wave so u don’t get smashed wave after wave”trust me I go to umina and sometimes pearlie
There are two shoreys that are similar to this near where l live atm...Both of them only really start working as the swell gets big, due to the headlands and offshore reefs that the waves have to break across first, but whenever we get a large swell, and high tide, they both become hectic as it gets.--- very, very heavy at times.....There is another shorebreak, a little further along the coastline, that works on all manner of swell size, but is just crazy on a solid swell, especially at low tide. That particular wave is as hollow as, and fully barrels at all sizes... Can suck dry on larger days, especially, once again, at low tide. Even the handful of lunatics out there on truly solid swells decrease to one or two (three, at most) people still out, often, at low tide, on the truly big days, and when it is sucking dry, most of all.... I love the break, and will bodyboard and/or bodysurf it on any day, no matter what, having a personal "rule," of sorts, that l take off on anything that comes through, set-wise, no matter how big, heavy, hollow, and shallow it gets. And it certainly does do the above... (!!)...Epic footage of this spot on this bid..a mad shorey!..Charge on, lads..!!!..
There's a wave like this about half hour drive from home.... Among my favourite breaks. I just love the power and mayhem of true, square shoreys...So fun, and ya just score the best of barrels.. "...tunnel vision...", to be sure..!...
I really love the way you edit to capture the real life experience / drama of a surfer. Willy POV .. have you watched Crystal Voyager? If not .. you must. Now go back to that hard core reef that you pussied out on .. you can do it.
Crystal Voyager is the famous cult surf movie produced by George Greenough in 1973. I get shocked that the young surfers don't know who George Greenough is .. surfing history. If you watch this easily available movie you will see the first inner tube sequences ever filmed ... and edited to the sound of Pink Floyd 'Echoes'. Here is link to the start of the movie, but the first part is a precuser to Greenough's journey in which he builds a retractable keel yacht to search for unknown shallow reef breaks. The Pink Floyd tube sequence is at the end of the movie. ruclips.net/video/HmBIapUR-PQ/видео.html The Pink Floyd tube sequence can be found on RUclips ..on it's own .. search "Crystal Voyager Echoes 2 of 3". But unfortunately this RUclips reproduction is too dark to see and will spoil the impact. So I recommend getting the movie to see the visual effect properly. Here's a coke commercial that used some of the footage from Crystal Voyager ruclips.net/video/-deAD5lPOz4/видео.html You will never be the same again and it will inspire the shooting that you do. Galactus Cometh .. so time is short
Didn’t find Jesus but do understand what it’s like to puss out. The surf was pumping today and I let some of the best waves pass me by but eventually got a few good ones once I calmed down and stopped pissing myself.
I cant really tell how big this shorebreak is but for shorebreak I would advise not wearing a leash since you are not to far away from your board and it can even get caught around your leg. I say as soon as you drop in just hold it your line then let go of your board and swim up to the top. If you get tumbled around hold your neck and kindve go in a canonball shape thats what I do at least. or You can go flat too but you might hit your shoulder which isnt good
dude amazing title!! haha
