This is a very informative video, especially the bus route. It will save us from a lot of walking from the JR Arashiyama Train Station for our upcoming trip. Thank you so much.

This was a GREAT video. Thanks for providing this. I'm hoping you can clarify one point. At the train station in Kyoto, you said to take the Sangano Line (Son-In) which departs on Track 32 and 33. When you showed the electronic sign above, I thought it said Sobe (33) and Saga-Arashiyama (32), so I thought that you'd only take the train on track 33. I'm probably misunderstanding the sign, so can you please clarify. Thanks for your help....this was a great video for newcomers to Japan (like me). Thanks, Ron

      Thank you for your comment.
"Saga-Arashiyama Station" and "Sonobe Station" are both stations on the JR San'in Line. In other words, "Saga Arashiyama Station" is the 7th station from Kyoto Station, and "Sonobe Station" is the 15th station from Kyoto Station. Whichever you take, you will arrive at "Saga-Arashiyama Station". Also, depending on the time of day, I think both depart from platform 32 or 33. In addition, "Local train" and "Rapid" stop at Saga-Arashiyama Station, but "Limited Express" does not stop, so please be careful. I'm glad if you can use it as a reference. (This video was filmed and made 3 years ago, so it may have changed somewhat now.) Have a great day.

Thank you for your visiting. There are three Arashiyama stations in total, each on a different line. Please refer to my video "The Pathway of Bamboo Forest in Arashiyama" for directions from Randen Arashiyama Station to Arashiyama Bamboo forest.

May I suggest a third way to get to Arashiyama? Hire a bicycle. There's a shop very near Kyoto station - friendly and knowledgeable people who'll recommend the nicest route. Happy days, Ol.

Thanks for your comment. According to the information by a google search, it is about 50 minutes by bicycle from Kyoto Station. Togetsu Bridge in Arashiyama is located at [2M7H+54 京都市、京都府]

@@risingsunjapanguideinfo8405 It is, indeed, about fifty minutes. And a very pleasant ride along the river. Enjoy it. Thank you, Ol.

This video introduces two Arashiyama stations, but which one are you talking about?
There are three Arashiyama stations. Hankyu Arashiyama Station, a private railway, is farthest from the bamboo forest.
The one introduced at 5:00 is JR Saga Arashiyama Station, and the one introduced at 7:25 is Randen Arashiyama Station.
I think Randen Arashiyama Station is the closest to the bamboo forest.
