    I got myself a Syntakt for Christmas, and now I want a DigiTakt to go with it, to get into sampling/samples!
    Elektron’s sequencer is amazing, and the Song Mode is a game changer!

      I am thoroughly loving it! my first grooveboox was a machinedrum the OG one, so the digitakt fits like a glove in my producing brain!

    I seriously wish Electron would up the memory on these devices or at least add a SD card slot. TBH for the price it’s a fair ask.

      Get an MPC one, the bang for the buck these days is incredible.

      @@aikighost I might as well use Ableton. I’ve had 3 MPCs and they are a daw in a box.

      Point of order. The bit reduction has always been there. It’s sample rate reduction that has been added in this update.

      @@bjamminsincebirth3494 well except Ableton requires your laptop, doesn't come with nice pads great FX and a built in 6hr battery. But yes use whatever you feel is best but for me MPC is the inspiration box, totally love mine🤘

      @@aikighost I can make music with anything but when it comes to hardware I need to be inspired to use it. I have the SP404mk2 and my guitar and my bass. I love those but I would love a solid step sequencer device. Pads are great but I have that on my Arturia Keylab MK2 49 and the SP. Different workflows help to inspire me.

    How is the slicing mode perfect if you cant adjust start points though? 🧐

    • @BIGUMAMI
      @BIGUMAMI  Год назад +1

      yeah lol it's definitely not, as I found out after a few days with the new update. it just happens to work well with the breaks I had. got a little too excited.

    That piano riff started out quite loud and abrasive, but ended up nicely settling into the mix, did you use an lfo with the volume or overdrive? Or maybe the onboard compressor? Whatever it was, it did the job nicely. That tune as well, was a really nice sounding old school bit of niceness.
    I saw your vid on the guitar into the 404, and thats making me itch for a 404. I've got an mpc live 1 that im a bit disillusioned with that may have to head for ebay to fund it..

    • @BIGUMAMI
      @BIGUMAMI  Год назад

      sometimes that's just how it is lol 1 in 1 out! as for the piano sample, I think that tuning it -4 helped in turning a bit of that abrasiveness down.

    Length is how many slices a triggered slice plays for.

    I’m about to grab a SP404mk2 to compliment my A4mk2 synth, I’m just skeptical that the two sequencers will sync their patterns with program changes properly.
    I think I’d have to manually change the midi channel the A4 is sending every time I use a new bank on the SP… The alternative way would be to sequence MIDI from the A4, should it work well or will I avoid the SP?

    • @BIGUMAMI
      @BIGUMAMI  Год назад +1

      You know, I don't know the answer to that, but I do have an A4 MKI and so now I'm curious about it... I think the sp404MKII should have the capabilities to send program cc changes via MIDI... will have to **gasp** read the manual

    • @BIGUMAMI
      @BIGUMAMI  Год назад +1

      it's the uber famous "think break"!

  • @neonpop80
    @neonpop80 Год назад

    This is my first time with time stretching as I dont use DAW and Digitakt is my only sampler, why does it stutter/break when stretched? Doesnt sound good to me. Im surprised they added it when the quality isnt to Elektron high standard. Unless this is normal for stretching..

    • @BIGUMAMI
      @BIGUMAMI  Год назад +1

      no it isn't... it's pretty poor and yes, I expected something more from a €900 sampler. especially from an elektron sampler. Ableton is really good, but that's a DAW. the sp404mkii algorithm sounds way better than this, and the 404 is like what, €499?
      I don't mind it for now, but hopefully they improve it soon!

      @@BIGUMAMI Thanks for the perspective. I guess that's why hiphop artists use those instead. I mainly do electronic so it doesnt really effect me. Still.. we paid lots.

      it really depends on how aggressive Roland gets with the sp404mkii updates in the future... I explain it in the first couple minutes of this new vid here: ruclips.net/video/cqPePqvPADA/видео.html
