I never travel without one of my 4 , usually the cheapest, scan tools. I have only seen one check engine light out but one that is out will confuse most people. Good advice for everyone!

Thank you looking for a used car so hopefully this will help now that you showed me how to use my OB 2 scanner. Guy has a 2003 Camry 3 windows arent working ( passenger windows) drivers window is only 0ne that works. Now I will get a car that I know they didn't mess with the check engine light, Got one 2013 Dodge caravan light went on 3 days later. Got my money back.

If they won't, then walk away. Any seller should allow you to inspect the vehicle.
