    My brother has the 12 in a convertible. It's an awesome car and I am a Camaro guy. In my opinion the stock 285 rear tires are not big enough to put down all that power to the pavement. It's definitely a great ride. Nice job Riley.

    Has the 13-14 taillights
    Even the 13-14's avoided the gas guzzler tax.
    I get about 14mpg, and it's hard to drive it responsibly.

    This mustang has a real transmission, the S550 doesn't, thats the difference.

    I got a 2014 gt 500 and really like it, I was in the market for a gt350 but for the price the horsepower was to low and they use 2-3 litres of oil in between oil changes.... really nice car but low bang for the buck, also keep in mind the 14 gt500 is 662 horsepower and bought one used so the best bang for the buck is the 14 also keep in mind im 42 and love the fact the 14 is ready to go right out of the box back in the day I had troubles with my fox letting monkeys at a well known speed shop screw things up the fox is running tip top and is still in the corner of the garage

    I wish you could bolt on the S550's independent read suspension on this bodystyle. I bet it would improve the handling so much better on this car!

      watts link will fix the handling. watts links work magic on live axles. also, i remember reading about multiple companies that make bolt on(although they suggest welding) IRS kits for these bodies. thats the best part of american cars. nothings a deal breaker because everything can be modified cheaply.

      You've probably never driven a live axle mustang. These cars aren't one trick ponies like the hellcats and demons. Sure, they're probably more noteworthy in a straight line but the regular 5.0 from this generation was posting laptimes within .1 of M3s from the same generation.

    All that stuff you said about the 13 and 14 gt500 being maxed out is completely false bro. They have updated engines with all aluminum parts and blocks and are capable of 800 to 1000 hp with a 2.3 TVS

      I know 2 guys with '14 GT500's. One has a 2.3 VMP that was dyno'ed at 753 RWHP. The other guy still has the stock Eaton Blower that was dyno'ed at 743 RWHP.

      Christopher Abbott You Fucking dumbass biiiiiiitch. 07-09 was iron block, iron head. 10 was iron block, aluminum head and 11-12 aluminum block and head. 13-13 increase in displacement a new trinity blower and aluminum block and head. The 13-14 GT500 is better than a 07-12 if kept stock. The 07-12 shine when adding a return style fuel system, pulleys, E85 and full exhaust. 13-14 GT500 is almost maxed out from the factory, there is enough room for bolt ons and such but not as much as a 07-12. Charlene from VMP is a perfect example of a 07-09 GT500 making 700+whp with few mods

      The 5.8 really isn't better like everyone assumes it is. The 5.4 and 5.8 make pretty similar power once both are sporting the same blower and supporting mods. The main reason they have more hp is the blower once you throw on a 2.3 trinity to the 5.4 (better yet a vmp 2.3 or 2.65) its gonna have very comparable power and the 5.4 can handle just as much power as the 5.8 if anything itll hold more or at the very least the same. All the gt500s have powdered forged rods in them which are normally good for 800 or so to the tires fairly safely some have made more but generally that is widely accepted as the "acceptable level" for both the 5.4 and 5.8..
      So really outside of the better blower there isnt a reason to pay these stupid expensive prices people want for 13-14s when 11-12s go for 10-15k less. Most 13s i see with under 40k they want mid to upper 40s or more for when i have found more than one nice 11-12 with pretty low miles for 30-32. Found one for 28 with 46k it was in great shape. The 13s just arent worth that much more to me when the only major difference that actually matters is the blower itself which can be had under 2k easily all that other boy racer stuff like the 220 mph gauges, the stupid gearing with the super long first gear and 331 rear gears and the quad tips the mustang ricers can have that stuff and ill get me a nice 11-12 around 30k and slap some 13 tailights in it for 700-800 bucks and call it a day and build from there and throw a 2.65 vmp gen 3 blower on it and ill have the same or more power than most bolt on 13s and much better gearing for way less money. If people would do the research and not just assume the 5.8 is superior more people would see this. They look at stock power 662 vs 550 and think its way better like i said that is 95% or more due to the blower being better. Blower can be had under 2k all day long you can even find ported trinity blowers for that which is a great bargain mod for 07-12 owners. Best bang for buck is the 07-12 cars and which you get depends which style you want and weather you want some of the tech that comes on the 11-12 cars or the older tech is good for you the 07-09 are even cheaper. Just throwing this info out there because there seems to be a misconception that the actual engine itself is better on the 5.8 vs the 5.4 and it just isnt and if something happens to it its alot more expensive to replace

    I have this same car but 2014 with 6700 miles. I love this car. I had it Dyno tested the other day and it's right where is supposed to be 662 hp, 602 at the wheels and 612 torque.The only disagreement I have is that there are plenty of mods that can be done to mine to increase HP. I just don't need too. lol

      Cory R A 2014 GT500 was $55K brand new with 662 hp. Then for $100K you get the GT500 Super Snake with 850 hp. The 2016 Z06 is $80K without options for less horsepower.

      I was talking about the last generation C6 Z06, which you can find for around 35k to 40k. 505 hp ls7 and a great chassis. Good collector car in the future too more than likely.

      Taylor just cause one guy had an issue with his z06 and sparked the decade old debate that apparently every ls7 was dropping valves doesn't mean it's real.. that's a fucking myth and it's false. If that was true about the valves it would have been a big ordeal and all over social media. I never heard the stories by owners. I have an SS myself but I looked into a c6 z06 for a while and I've talked to guys who own them and I've never heard anything bad. The ls7 is a legendary engine

    Actually o those gt500's 40 roll first gear is the spot, 60 roll second gear, those tr6060's have long gears, good thing that one has the 3.73's a whipple blower on that thing will turn it into a monster

      Donovan I understand they may bit have come yet with an auto but honestly they'd be crazy not to offer it with the 10 speed. there are zero advantages of a manual to the 10 speed. if they really want the car to be a performance beast they'll opt to offer the 10 speed. I'm sure they'll offer a manual version don't get me wrong.

      Or review a 2.3 swapped 5.4 which will make basically the same power as a bolt on trinity. The 11-12 has better gearing and with the trinity blower and bolt ons will make similar power to a bolt on 13-14 with better gearing to boot so it will likely be quicker all told. The 13s arent on this huge performance mountain above 11-12 cars like everyone acts like they are. Bone stock for bone stock the trinity traps about 7-8 mph more and does low 11s at best vs high 11s for 11-12s but like i said under 2k for a trinity blower you got the same thing for way less money. The 5.8 isnt better it just comes with a better blower hence more stock hp.

    6th Gen Camaros are great cars. The GT500 with 100 HP more will absolutely annihilate the Camaro, especially once at 40 MPH PLUS. It’s not in the same class..

    Not a pro here, but got a question, say you want to change your exhaust sound, does it require the whole system? Or could lets say a brola axle-back exhaust fit without the whole borla set? Only on a stock car.

      It really isnt better ecspecially dollar for dollar for the money spent. You can slap a less than 2k dollar trinity blower on an 11-12 with bolt ons and make similar power to what a bolt on 13-14 will make for alot less money. 13s have better brakes but i prefer the smaller ones on the 12 and older so you can do a 15 rear 17 front drag setup and the 12s have better stock gearing for drag as well. The 5.4 is just as good as the 5.8. Once you have the same blower and bolt ons on both cars power is comparable very little difference. I think the whole 200 mph thing and stupid tall first gear gearing to hit 70 in first is kind of stupid and its bad gearing for drag racing. If drag racing is what youre building for and you plan to mod it anyways and blower swap either way the 11-12 cars make so much more sense for the money. I cant stand how people put the 10-15k dollar "greatest car ever" tax on the 13 cars...theyre awesome cars but really arent worth that much extra to me because to me once you got a vmp blower on both cars they're close to the same thing power wise and power handling wise. 13s have better stock heat exchangers and other stuff like that but the aftermarket are way better and need to be purchased for either car imo. There is so much biased shown to the 13 cars when theyre really not much better ecspecially for the money. 13s are some of the most overrated mustangs ever made and overpriced. 11-12s are better for the money hands down because theyre easily 10-15k+ cheaper on average.

      It's funny they say that and then there are tons of 13-14's making obscene numbers and running hard at the track. Maybe it's easier to make initial hp gains with the 11-12, but the 13-14 doesn't seem to mind making hp either.

      @@jomaha9227 they can all make power and they're all limited to 800 or so max on a stock engine...the issue comes when people act like 13-14 is superior when theyre not...they do have a better blower stock if you put the same blower on an 11-12 itll make comparable power. People see the stock hp is higher and just assume the ceiling is higher on 13-14 and that just isnt true if anything the 5.4 will make the power more reliably although they can both get the job done. If you plan to mod it anyways the 11-12 is by far the better car for the money as theyre on average 10-15k cheaper that money would go a long ways towards making a monster out of a 11-12. The gearing is better for drag on 11-12....first gear ratio is better and svtpp comes with stock 373s out back as well. I just feel that if youre buying it to mod 11-12 is the better buy. Even the 07-09 are bad ass cars with just as much potential for even less money but interior isnt as nice, has a heavier (but very durable) iron block and doesnt have knock sensors etc....theyre all bad ass with equal potential in the end stock engine or built engine the 13-14 just starts out with more power mostly because of the better stock blower.

    For the tuner, it's hard to argue against a built 5.0 Coyote with a turbo. More flexible package in every way.

      That's a pretty general statement addressing a hundred different tuning parameters and making a wide assumption.

      Lifted_Above it’s a downright fact. The 5.4 will get you far more torque than the Coyote. Look at a lot of dynos of the 5.4. You get nearly the same torque numbers as horsepower at the cost of how fast the car revs.

      Provided what? Are we talking stock for stock? Stock vs. turbo? Turbo vs. supercharged? NOS? E85? Whipple or Procharger? Pump gas? Are we comparing street racing in same gear? What rear end ratios are we talking about? Does the extra torque on the 5.4 you're talking about mean anything in a 1/4 mile?

      Very awesome cars for the money...power potential wise once you mod it all gt500s are close to the same...bolt on 07s make the same power as bolt on 12s and theyll make the same as bolt on 13s too if you swap on the same trinity blower for ALOT less money. Do your homework they dont have knock sensors and factory widebands like the 11 up cars if that doesnt matter to you then the 07 cars are great if you like the style...wonderful cars

      It isnt maxed out but older gt500s can make as much power for way less money because they cost significantly less and are a less than 2k dollar trinity blower swap away from being close to the same hp wise with better gearing to boot for 10-15k cheaper initially...do your homework the 13s are overhyped and overpriced 11-12s are better for the money imo...

    what's amazing is the 2011 gt500 has the same lap time around VIR, as a 2017 v6 1LE. Riley's ss 1LE is a full 10 SECONDS faster around the same track....

    I would never own another 5.4 ford v8 despite the improvements ford made to it towards the end of its life span. To many bad memories with my 05 f150.

      This is a DOHC. Yours was a 3V SOHC. Big difference bud.

      This is an aluminum block dohc 5.4 with a forged bottom end stock totally totally different than an 05 3valve 5.4 iron block non forged engine....

      Bro watch the video......He referred about the 2013 - 2014 Shelby in the video (4:23) and stated he believed the motor had 650hp. I know the motor makes 662hp from the factory. It was just a FYI.

    I'm surprised you still say Shelby built the 2011 2013 gt500's. Ford's performance division built it and used the name Shelby just like the 2015 gt350's

      Svt built it....they didnt become ford performance until 2015 long after these cars were made and youre right shelby didnt have much to do with any these modern gt500s....he was involved a little with the 07s in the beginning but not alot its basically an svt offering might as well be a 2011 svt cobra which is how i think of these cars

      Slader Roberts, "Feel like a pig", is subjective. I live in Florida, and to me, it doesn't feel like a pig in the heat. It does feel quicker in the cool weather. But, it's also more difficult to get traction in the cold.

    I crazy that this car has almost 100 hp more than a scat pack and is probably about 500-700 lbs lighter and still not quicker than it lol. A scat with 315 on the rear will pull 0-60 in 4.2-4.3 seconds no problem. That 8 speed is amazing in the Dodges.

      i dont know what you're smoking because the 2013/14 gt500s quartermile and trap speed is identical to a hellcat. he gave the stats for the 2010-12 gt500s.

      Cradle Media Group™ Actually the gt500 2013 1/4 is very similar to the scat pack stock and it has more hp and lighter same with the 2014 lol. Oh and the hellcat is 11 sec to 10.8 sec car in the 1/4. The shelby either year is 12 to mid 11 sec 1/4 so nah bruh.

    All of you that say the 2013-2014 with 662hp is about the limit and you can't mod them and get much in terms of results results have absolutley no clue what your talking about. I guarantee my 2014 with just a few bolt ons getting 750hp w/ 730 ft lbs torque will go a lot farther with a few more bolt ons without changing the supercharger. Bunch of know nothings.

      Why would they put the same engine in it that was in the Mustang GT LOL not to mention the 5.4 dual overhead cam supercharged engine started in 2007 they just revised it over the years and the 2013/2014 version of the 5.8 is just a bored out 5.4 Condor engine. These engine sound much more mean than any Coyote ever will. The coyote has more Tech with its variable cam timing and stuff like that but it really isn't a better engine people have this misconception that it is a better engine because it makes power with less boost then the GT500 motors do the reason is because the coyote engines are 11 to 1 compression and 12 to 1 compression engines depending on which year Co do you have whereas these 5.4 Condor engines were like 8.4 to 1 compression which is obviously much lower therefore it takes more boost to equal similar power numbers but you also have far more torque in the 5.4 as well versus a blown coyote with a similar setup. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against coyotes they are great engines but honestly Ford messed up when they changed the firing order on them because these older mod Motor is sounded a lot better and the GT500 makes killer torque compared to the torqueless wonder coyote (for modern v8 standards). The 5.4 is one of the reasons i want a gt500 over a coyote powered car..
      Love the way they sound love the torque they make and when you throw cams in em they chop like crazy unlike the coyote that needs a cam tune to chop lol. Also i like the gt500 because of the much better trans....im a manual guy all the way and the tr6060 is one beefy manual trans. The 5.4 supercharged condor motor started in 2007 coyotes started in 2011....this came before the coyote.

    I have a 2017 camaro ss 1le and the inside is so much better, I like mustangs but the inside sucks compared to the camaro and I don't like the back of the new mustangs
