This may be a sappy description, but here it gose.
In this piece, I feel the heaviness of Optimus's spark baring not only the Matrix of Leadership, the knowledge of all Primes of the past and the fact that he's the last Prime; but the small, sad inkling of hope that his former comrade, his once-called brother, Megatron, would turn from his evil vision and rebuild Cybertron alongside Optimus and the rest of the Autobots. But the reality always hits Optimus in the end: Megatron is set in his ways. His tyrannical path is set, and he has no desire to go back and salvage their friendship and brotherhood. Like how we lose people we forged a bond with, Optimus feels this pain everyday yet hopes Megatron will change one day. But we all know he won't, and no one knows that fact better than Optimus Prime.
I also feel the betrayal and the grief of not only losing a brother, but losing the only home you ever had and knew. That grief is carried for many years, many millenia. And Optimus is reminded of all this everytime he sees Megatron.
It's quiet mourning. And yet it's beautiful.
