Definitely would have swept with Gyarados
I'm surprised he didn't predict it - because from their perspective, the only way Yanmega would be able to kill is with +1 and outspeed, so Protect was a given. Unless the Gyarados overpredicted and assumed Yanmega assumed and went on the offense instead, but I think that's even less likely. Hm. Pretty much a coinflip moment yea.

He's been a favorite of mine ever since I realized they made an evolution for Yanma and it was actually good. It served me well in the DLC. Throat spray/bug buzz/tinted lens/tera bug made it one shot just about everything. I kind of made Kieran regret boxing his when it was my last mon left against him.

So Tinted Lens basically makes resisted moves not resisted 😂
I ran this back then with specs just to catch people off guard with a screaming bug
Yes, tinted lenses is essentially the normal type
The only problem is not very effective
1/4 * 2 * 1.5 = 3/4
So not completely sweep even with tinted lense

Eh, tbh you could pull some easy wins with a bug team. Scizor, Yanmega, Slither Wing, Volcarona, Galvantula and either Araquanid or Kleavor.

I love seeing clever strats like this
I’ve always loved Yanmega, I still contend that Yanma getting an evolution is the absolute biggest cross-generation buff. More than any megas or stat changes or exclusive items, it was such an OU viable mon in Gen 4 and still does its thing in later gens despite being kinda outclassed usually but it’s one of my favorite designs and has a great movepool for its stats and abilities.
A lot of us really wanted a MegaYanMega for the memes

I love using Yanmega! Instead of Protect, I use Detect. And for Fire/Flying coverage I use Ancient Power. I gave it the Heavy Duty Boots as a held item.
Been using Yanmega since gen 4. It once came in clutch and sweept when I was down 6-1, after I allowed the opponent's lead Bisharp to set up. Recently almost got a sweep with it in gen 9, but a damn Kingambit stopped me. Headcannon says it was the same Bisharp looking for revenge.
Yanmega is my second favourite bug type after Golisopod
If you really want to impress us all, try making krickitune a viable sweeper.

@@benji7449 Jolly, 252 Atk, 252 Speed, rest in Def. Usually use a sash to make sure it gets the SD up, but if my team has no hazard control then I go for Life Orb for the damage boost.

Ello! You don't have to level them up to 100. All levels get rounded down to an even 50, as you can see in the game. Just have them at level 50 or higher, and you're good!
(Then, if you have any more questions, like EV's and IV's, just ask or research on RUclips)
