- Thanks for watching the video. I highly recommend this easy install to anybody that has an N model. Here are a few filters that I recommend.

you really should leave the kona alone
You really should stop trolling! This video is like a year old bro 😂
@@KonaNthusiast you been that stoopid for that long
@@tonywhite425your mother doesn't love you and you shower with your dad
running the KN filter in my VN with lid off sounds great
@@Lordnexuz nice!! The boost sound is so perfect
I installed this filter on my Kona n about 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. 👊
Nice! Glad you’re liking it, I closed my airbox with the factory filter for the summer, can’t wait for temps to cool off so I can reinstall this filter
@@KonaNthusiastI know this is old but when you did have this filter, why did you not leave the pipercross filter in the air box with it closed in the summer? Why’d you go back to stock filter even with it closed?
@@Jcrash1 so the air box was unable to be closed with the pipercross filter because of how much bigger it was than stock
@@KonaNthusiast ah alright. I ordered one a few days ago I was just wondering, thank you.
@@Jcrash1 no problem, you may be able to keep it open during the summer but me personally I couldn’t deal with the heat soaking from the hot temps in my area
Just ordered the filter today thanks for the vid bro! Looking forward to installing it
Nice! Hope you enjoy it! The install is super easy
How did filter work out for you? I ordered one today as well!
@@doctorream6404 still running it to this day! absolutely love it! give you the ability to run the stock intake open box and get some sweet sounds out of it.
@@Thatredkona filter came today! Sounds amazing! Curious, did you add the screw as well? Mine fits pretty snug so wondering if it is needed
@@doctorream6404 glad to hear man! and i didnt personally
I'm sure it sounds even better inperson👍👍 Not sure why the EN doesn't have the same set up as the KN & VN but there you have it🤔
The kn and vn piping is actually a longer intake tract..the en intake airbox goes from the front bumper directly to the filter/ intake..
Therefore being closed is infinitely better on the en which is why most of them are closed system. It helps with hear soak
It sounds really good in person! But yeah that’s interesting how the packaging under the hood is so different.
@@KonaNthusiast it sounded good on camera so I'm sure it sounds good in person bro
thanks for the vids man!
No problem!
Do you drive with an open box? Because when you close the box, in my opinion, the filter is not audible at all like STOCK. I also have this filter.
Yes I run this with an open box, it’s kind of difficult to close the box with this filter
im planning to go with the AFE Takeda Air intake for $360. since the SXTH element is 500$ thats to much in my personal opinion.
Oh wow, I didn’t know afe had an intake option now. That’s a great price
No it’s only $500 I’d you buy a carbon fiber tube the plastic option is like $300
@@vurshawn1358 ahh makes sense
Some haters on here lmao! What’s up bro? I bought the Elantra N after all. Still looking forward to the content!
Right haha. Glad to see you’re part of the N fam! Welcome
NEW INTAKE SETUP FOR MY ‘22 HYUNDAI KONA N lol that's the air filter
What do you all think of the velossa big mouth ram air tube? Just ordered it, had it on my '20 elantra Nline GT
They’re really good, especially the lit version. I had a similar brand to those with my stinger and it helped the airflow a lot
A closed intake system will always make more power
Yes but from some of the data logs I’ve looked at with other cars, the hp difference is negligible
Cool VID bro!
Thanks man! Stay tuned for more content.
@@KonaNthusiast For sure!
I really want an open style air box but I think since it flash floods all the time where I live I couldn’t get away with it 😤
Right!! Same here, I just plan on keeping the cover in my trunk and if it forecasts for a crazy bad rain day, I will put it back on
The airbox lid alone will not prevent your engine from ingesting water if flooding gets bad enough. The airbox has a duct on the front that will allow water to enter. Best steer clear of deep water and drive slowly if you cant avoid it to prevent wake at the nose of your car.
Hot air rises from the engine and its blocked by the hood. Running it with the top opened will decrease performance because you will be sucking in all of that hot air.
Yes that is true, but during this time of year I’m not too worried. Whenever it gets warmer, I would close it back up or get an aftermarket air intake that’s a closed design
Just a guess: Not 100% true because the back of the hood is higher than the front and vented to allow air to escape the engine bay. The radiator fan also creates positive pressure at idle forcing static air to vent the engine bay and there is positive pressure while the car is in motion. The hood is not simply flat/level and the engine bay is not a sealed box itself with the engine pumping the hot air out. The factory airbox is ducted which will force cool air in when the car is in motion therefore pushing cool air pass the filter and out the top of the airbox. There shouldnt be too much extra heat getting sucked through the intake without a lid unless you ran a boxless intake or rev the car while it is not in motion - increasing negative pressure at the filter which draws more hot around the airbox walls towards the filter. Many dyno tests that showed HP loss had poor airflow solutions and bad fan placement which is key to simulating the car is in motion. If anything dyno tests should be done in a wind-tunnel simulating whatever speed the dyno reads and not with a ducted fan - that would be too expesive.
Some dyno tests I have seen showed around 10-WHP gain when intake temps were lowered 20-25° so one would assume +10° = -5WHP which is roughly the difference you would see between runs anyway.
High AIT is bad but +-5WHP shouldnt stop anyone from enjoying more intake noises...
You feel any difference in HP?
Oh yes. It’s definitely a big difference
How long was shipping on the filter?
Took a few weeks to get here from Germany
Hey, got my KN a few weeks ago and after getting through break in I am a bit disappointed with the difference in exhaust feedback, i.e pops and bangs compared to the EN. They just aren't loud and consistent like the EN does anyone have advice on how to get that same production without a tune? Also is a res delete the way to go if I want more loud on a budget. @Kona eNthusiast Thanks! Love the content there aren't a lot of KN people yet.
Thanks! Also welcome to the N family, Yeah I felt that way at first about the exhaust, the KN has 2 resonators, the VN/EN has 1 resonator. What I did was deleted the bigger resonator and replaced the smaller one with a dynomax mini race bullet. It made the tone sound much better while making the exhaust much louder. It doesn’t drone when the exhaust valve is open, when exhaust is closed it sounds similar to stock volume. It only costed me $100 total
@@KonaNthusiast Awesome i'm planning on going down the same path with the resonators. What about the pops and bangs have you heard the comparison with EN cuz its a lot more aggressive. Im just tryinna figure out how to get there without a tune.
@@kingkunbo1246 no problem! Yeah the pops are definitely much louder, probably louder than the EN
@@KonaNthusiast Solid, thanks much. Keep the content rollin, love seeing new ideas.
@@kingkunbo1246 thanks man! I’ve got some dope track vids coming soon
Any difference in performance (0-60 / 60-120) ?
I haven’t done a 0-60 yet with this setup but the throttle response and midrange feels a lot stronger now.
waist of moner hot air from compartment , less power
