Tips on Hotel Stays for the Hearing Impaired

I have had all kinds of odd things happen to me at hotels when I really don't alert staff about my hearing impairment or I don't ask for any accommodations. I know now to truly ask for them even if it is a short stay. Have you had any issues as a hearing-impaired person staying at a hotel?
