      I think you have the Beretta Performance, qll steel competition handgun confused with the 92x RDO. You have not distinguished the Langdon Trigger job, nor Langdon's superipr treatment of the RDO instalation . You have not discussed the 3 different grip. backs available with the 92XRDO I do not thi k you have bothered to find out what gun you are holdin . @@johnelder7449 I think his look on this 92X Performance is fair enough. Remember, this is Beretta's flagship competition pistol. Langdon's stuff is great, I love my 92 LTT RDO setup and wouldn't sell it for anything. But LTT's package is basically a setup from a custom shop that's really only widely available in the US. The 92XP is Beretta's OEM performance gun meant for the global competitive shooting market. Perfect world, Beretta would have taken/collaborated with LTT for solutions for a better product. They didn't, though, and we have the 92XP as a result...

    • @Saint0fPain
      @Saint0fPain 11 часов назад +5

      Again, it feels like they could make simple no-brainer decisions on the PX4 to make it an even better platform. Why are the side of the grip panels as smooth as a bar of soap? I have heard it is because of a military or government contract of some kind, but not sure why that prevents them from having a different fully textured grip for the civilian guns. I guess they sell so few to make it worth it?
      It may also be an optical illusion to me, but I really feel like the PX4 just seems overly large proportionally. Of course, I sorta feel the same about the PDP. Maybe I just have baby hands...

    Beretta is great at releasing a gun people have been asking for for years and changing just enough about it to make it not as appealing as a well tuned base gun. When people asked for a steel frame competition model I don’t think anyone also wanted a frame mounted safety redesign, a top heavy brigadier slide, and a vertec frame that accentuates the top heaviness while also making it feel “short” unless you run the widest palmswell grips you can find (and even that only helps a little). They somehow also made it so any factory barrel you put in it cracks at 20k rounds.

    Ben, more beretta content please!
    I had been eyeballing a 92x performance for a few years and consumed a lot of (positive) reviews.
    After some time and deliberation i decided Id pick one up. Went to LGS to get a feel for it before I decided to pull the trigger so to speak, and it was kind of like meeting your hero. Just didn't feel all that great compared to CZs i was used to.
    They had a 92XI Squalo in the case also. I held it because it was there and had a cool cerakote job.
    Wow. Blew me away how much better that felt than the significantly more expensive 92X!
    Magwell fixed the short grip, Hogue grips gave it traction in the hand, aluminum frame fixed the top heaviness and the beavertail was more agreeable. On top of this came with 22 round mags (3 of them).
    After reaching out to some guntubers and comp shooters about which I should get I went with my gut and picked up a Squalo. Seems like a better fit for most people and at a lower cost.
    To make it DASA get the beretta match hammer (which also shortens pretravel and reset) and sand off the nub on the flat face trigger that comes with the XI.
    Boom, now you have the DASA frame mounted safety Beretta that should have been used in the first place.
    Definitely not knocking the 92XP.
    Beretta made what people asked for.
    We just need to be careful because sometimes you get what you wish for.

    I bought the 92X non-performance about a year ago. It's the aluminum one with the vertex slide and frame. After shooting it for a few thousand rounds I figured out I don't like any of the features that make it different vs an older model like the FS or M9A1. For one thing, the screws for the optic cut are drilled straight into the firing pin channel 🤦‍♂️

    It wild how different preferences can be. The PDP is a perfect example. Ive only heard great things, and I know a guy who owns 2 of them. I've shot the gun and I hate it. @toddianuzzi 9 часов назад

    I had 2 of them. Love them, especially with Lok palm swells. Shot great for me, super accurate, frame was JUST big enough, I was highly motivated to shoot matches and train with them.
    After 2 years and a combined 55k rounds, the barrels cracked and one of them had a bent frame.
    I had them replaced under warranty recently and I took the money and got into Cajun Shadow 2’s.
    The Berettas ran like clocks! No issues, then they just died like the Bluesmobile.

    I bought the pdp because of you and Joel. So far my round count is around 400 rounds so really not very many and only 200 of those were with an optic because hurrrr durrr plate not included. Anyway, so far I can say it is very easy to be accurate with it. It is a bit snappy but I am going to run it stock for a while and see what I like and what i want to change. I think I'm going to do a staccato next.
    Shooting pistols is just fun.
    The thing about the staccatos is they're so expensive i could use that money as a down payment for a decent gunsmithing lathe and then i could turn custom rifle barrels. I could get a pretty decent Precision Matthews for like 12k. Smaller one for around 5.

    When you pick a Beretta 92/92X first thing that hits you is the cut that is missing under the trigger guard. It's like it's stuck in a design 50 years old, a massive blunder from Beretta. That immediately creates the feeling of a short grip and of a huge uncomfortable ,rubbing surface on your middle finger which sits under the trigger guard.

    How would you change the 92XP, any variation thereof, to better accommodate you if you had to shoot with it? (Sponsored or on team Beretta, etc.)
    Is it something where changing out the grips for heavier brass grips to rebalance the weight, and adding a mag-well extension, tuning the trigger, or even going as far to have the frame cut for additional checkering or shaving material from it (undercut trigger guard, raised beavertail, etc.) could make you fall in love with Beretta all over again?

    Love my 92F but shot my buddies 92X and was confused on how they strayed so far. You should try an LTT PX4 storm, love mine.

    I for one really like the Beretta 92X line. But for the life of me I can't understand why they didn't redesign the slide to better accept red dots.

    A buddy has a 92X and the steel frame does make it feel very different to my 92's. I prefer the aluminum frame too. It wasn't a light gun and I don't think it really needed the added weight.

    I’ve always been drawn to the beretta 92. I do have stupid, long ape hands, so a lot of guns just don’t feel good for me. Are there any berettas that are still in production that are good for guys with big hands?

  • @IvanRiveraStagea

    Put in the Beretta Match Hammer and it'd get rid of that SA takeup. There are some other upgrades on the table if you want to invest on this platform, but the Match Hammer is the first step in my opinion. Lok Grip panels, Match Firing Pin and 10 lb. mainspring would round things off.
    I love my 92X Performance because it is not fatiguing to shoot. It has a very smooth recoil impulse if you spring it to your ammo (a buffer sort of helps too). You can get spoilt by that feel that other guns would feel violent in comparison.

    Shilling aside 😅. For me, I'd like to know between this and TTI Canik Combat. I've been shooting for 8 months using G17.4 stock. NEVER been able to get a straight shot.

    Ben, can you try an LTT Beretta? I’m thinking of buying one for USPSA because I’ve always been a Beretta fanboy but the LTT’s seem to be a better buy.

    I remember when I went to my LGS to buy a CZ75 I ended up ogling a Shadow 2, so the counter guy showed me a 92x as well. I hated it as soon as I picked it up, grip somehow felt smaller than a G19, and the trigger guard disagreed with my middle finger. Ended up buying the Shadow.

    Picked up a 92X from Langdon tactical and somewhat understand your feelings the balance is off the recoil is way too stout, but overall I like the gun

  • @gutblaster187
    @gutblaster187 10 часов назад

    Most of that takeup can be eliminated with the OEM match hammer. I''m guessing your issue is the brigadier slide, which makes the gun sit visibly higher and become top heavy. Making the rear of the grip terminate at a sharp angle rather than the smooth curve of the M9 surely did not help either. The front of the grip is the same length as that of the 226 (a gun that has always felt unergonomic to me).

  • @Blobertbigly

    The grip angle feels off, is the 92x any different from the 92fs? Also I think itd be nice if manufacturers started displaying grip angles, ive got wrist problems and the cz75 angle feels right to me.

    Ben what all u said well respected , i disagree on : the weight of the gun is very nice in order to control the recoil (another assistance factor) the trigger out of the box is one of the best in the market and its also adjustable.. , i agree on the short grip but beretta will fix that with the V2 92x , in any ways id like you to comment on the plus of the gun. if you also upgrade the hammer to the match hammer the trigger is out of this planet better than pistols that cost 5000 and so on..

    I like the standard black 92X better. Not the performance etc models. When people hear 92X they think of the model you have there, but that's not a standard 92X. All I really wanted was the vertec grip and ability to change irons. I think my favorite is honestly probably the Centurion models. My LTT guns are far and away the best Berettas I own, but for some reason they don't have a standard 92X model unless I send them a gun myself. I don't generally buy competition guns since I have no interest in competing.

    I don't like the new grip angle. I like the OG grip. I know- back straps. Don't care........I just like the old one. I had a Wilson combat Beretta centurion, loved the impulse, loved the quality but could not shoot the gun as well as I wanted because that new grip causes me to have to change my grip and I ride the slide lock.......I'm not changing my whole shooting style for it. I traded it for some CZ's.............something I know and use well.

    I shoot these in carry optics and production. I’m new to the sport. Have to agree about the pinky issue I have normal size hands and unless I’m using an extended mag well my right hand pinky just hangs out or wraps around the bottom.

  • @TrollinCrazyRussian
    @TrollinCrazyRussian 4 часа назад

    Interesting. The short frame, I didn't see that coming. I don't think I ever handled one. Beretta 92 style went from "wouldn't consider" to "would consider" due to frame mounted safety alone. But if I were forced in shtf or something I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up unlike Saturday night specials or turkshit. But I don't see why this is superior to say cz shadow 2 compact or something sure I will accept constantly changing firing pin roll pin.

    I feel like Langdon has some great ideas for the 92. I feel like the LTT guns are the 92s that I'm interested in. Why the mothership doesn't hire the man and just let him design the line is beyond me. But that's just an ignorant, outsider's perspective.
    And what is going on with the beavertail on this gun. It looks like it forces your hand lower on the frame... am I wrong? Who thought that was a good idea?
