I work as an intern here at akshayakalpa farms. I visited one of their farm in shadnagar Hyderabad. Being an agriculture graduate it totally changed my view on farming. It was totally out of textbook. During the course of graduation we were only taught the diseases attacked and the required chemical to cure it. Hope i get onrolled at Akshayakalpa permanently.
I have been growing complex regenerative Systems in Venezuela for nearly 20 years now, and watching this video as made breakfast was like taking a deep breath. The key to these Systems Is to never forget the why. For me, It is to build complete ecosystems that include and provide for all the diverse life in our village community and Also feed people beyond It. My Systems are a bit more complex, but they don't need to be. This man is an excelent farmer in all regards. He grows and provides Integrity.
Namaste. I watched this video fully. He has good knowledge of natural and integrated farming. Observed his explanation on Soil, Microbes, Microclimate, Mulching, importance of dung and weeds etc. Farm is maintaining well.
It's was great conservation and an amazing knowledge shared by shashi sir. I also want to start farming and has many doubts but after watching this video many are solved. I love to meet both of you and learn many thing about farming.
Thank you so much Shashi Kumar sir for taking time to explain things in detail. Back in 2016 a thought came to my mind when we were still in the US that, whenever we move back to India we should have a fruit farm which will give us our favorite fruits and since Mango was one of our favorite fruits we decided to convert the sugarcane field which we just got at that time and started planting Mango, Guava, Lemon. Over the time we added Jack, Coconut, Sapota, Seethaphal, Banana, lil bit of rice for the family. The idea was to eat clean good and clean food from a known source (I couldn’t trust anyone at that time so decided to grow at our own farm). I also love Ongole cows so integrating them was not a problem at all. At least for now we don’t worry about the market, we eat good mango/guava/lemon/coconut/rice/sapota/jack and I’m one happy person 🙂. Forgot to include - mosambi/water apple from our other farm.
Loved this video. Growing some of my food in a small backyard with dreams of owning a quarter of an acre land for integrated farming. But unfortunately we have the same land laws which don't allow genuinely interested people from buying agri land while farmers are selling theirs to developers.
Thanks for this video...I liked how calm he is and the way of explanation... Also the story behind Akshayakalpa was emotional and inspiring... I don't have land and not from agricultural background but I try to grow some small plants like mint, spinach, Bitter gourd, tomato, ginger, turmeric in a pot apart from flowering and indoor plants in my balcony... Success rate is not so good... But this episode was very Inspirational... 👍
It’s definitely labor intensive as soon as you have ruminants I would like to do with anaerobic digester rather than cows very inspiring journey of yours So much inspiration I have also 6.8 acres near Gangavathi I will also try to develop

Nice episode.👍 Could you comment on the use of NPK fertilizer or urea, i.e.: would you consider that "feeding chemicals to plants..", if yes, why, as I see no scientific basis to such a claim. Any Napier grass plot in the farm ? How about bamboo ?
Hello there, we do think it is "feeding chemicals" because these are synthetic. While it may give short term benefits it will most certainly degrade the soil and water systems inevitably killing good micro organisms and making its way into our food systems. Why ruin the nature and health when there are better ways? Also urea can produce N2O which a lot of people don't realise is almost 300 times as potent as CO2 when it comes to global warming. One question if you can cover in future. I know some big farmers growing organic crop for their family but use poisonous crops for selling in market. How to tackle this?
This is a problem. Only true solution is a mindset change - for farmers and consumers. We will definitely try to cover this topic more deeply in the coming episodes
One of my relatives who has assets worth more than fifty crores grows elakki bananas at his farm. He sells all his produce for exports. Because of this export, the humble bananas have become expensive and out of reach of majority of Indians. Same is the case with other fresh produce like beans, carrot etc. This is injustice on poor Indians like me through capitalism and globalization.

Coop market creation for such good food....among farmers themselves directly to home buying using online mode producer consumer tieups for yearly uninterrupt delivery contracts...like milk supp can be devised to reduce middlemen chain for cost effect both sides
So true. And we believe consumers also should take that effort to directly meet the farmers and get what they want. Imagine if a housing society in Bangalore with more than 100 homes decides to join hands to get organic food? Farmers will be more than happy to find a way to get the products to the doorsteps. It is all about being leaders and taking the initiative to get good food on our plates. Akshayakalpa constantly has farmer market events in metro cities to directly connect consumers with the farmers. You can also purchase the products - quality check and packaging done by AK - directly through the app. We really want more initiatives to bridge the gap between the consumer and the farmer.
Akshayakalpa does sell A2 variety milk in the market but they do not claim it to have superior benefits compared to A1. In fact both are just beta-casein protein largely dependent on the breed of the cow.
Climate changing threat another dang now a days...non seasoned flip flop whether raining in hwrvesting time...severely imp farmers ....due to these flip flops productivity reduces...crops get destroyed. Along with all other challenges this one adding more issues. How can we tackle this is also to be added now in our farming topics....
