Rest In Peace Ben Wright, Kenneth Mars, Paddi Edwards, Pat Carroll and Samuel E. Wright (the voices of Grimsby, King Triton, Flotsam/Jetsam, Ursula and Sebastian)😔🙏🏼
I wish they kept the line of Triton telling Ursula not to lay a finger on any of his seven daughters. But aside from that, pretty good storyboard I like both Disney versions equally.
While others die quickly or offscreen, I like that Ursula died slow and painfully, finally suffering like all of her victims. Since she got disintegrated in this version before exploding!
2:57 this would have been a great addition to the scene. Like Ursula starts the whirlpool to kill Eric, arie saves him & Ursula grows & makes the whirlpool, trapping Ariel at the bottom & Eric hoards the boat
However, Katzenberg had just recently seen the film Die Hard (1988), which inspired him to request a "bigger" ending for The Little Mermaid, and thus he instructed the writers to have Ursula grow much larger in size during her climactic fight with Ariel and Eric.
He was holding the non-metal handle I believe but even so, there is a chance he should've been electrocuted too. I guess that's why they changed it in the final film hehe
I kind of like Ursula's deleted defeat in the 1st Little Mermaid Movie, Morgana's defeat in the 2nd Little Mermaid Movie, Marina's defeat in the 3rd Little Mermaid Movie, Ursula's other deleted defeat in the Kingdom Hearts Video Game, Ursula's defeat in the Little Mermaid Broadway Musical, and Ursula's defeat in the Little Mermaid Remake a lot better.
I think I kind of like the ending of The Little Sea Maid Fairy Tale better with the Princess from the Temple loving and marrying the Sailor and the Little Sea Maid loving and marrying the Prince.
I also think I sort of like the ending of The Little Mermaid Fairy Tale better with the Princess from the Temple loving and marrying the Prince and the Little Mermaid becoming the Child of Air and going to Heaven where she reunites with her mother and grandfather.

You forgot Buddy Hackett (the voice of Scuttle) and René Auberjonois (the voice of Chief Louis)
I wish they kept this battle sequence because it seemed a lot more epic than the final version
I wish they had kept some of the dialogue
Giant Ursula is still the best 😅
Good job! And I love both versions of The Little Mermaid!
That very first frame of Vanessa at 0:03 is THICC! She was already regaining her weight even before transforming!
My big sexy queen

Roasted calamari at 03:57!
My poor queen
Wow it’s spectacularly awesome.

Do you have more work prints of the little mermaid
1:08, 1:29, 1:46
Eric not being electrocuted as well is a bit odd.

To bad this didn't show in the movie
Thanks for sharing it

How come they didn’t use this ending
I have to agree because I like this better.
@@abigaildonnelly8 me too
Too scary maybe
From what I read they didn’t use this ending because of how much Jeffrey katzenberg was impressed by the big fight in Die hard.
